    Nice work on the wiring. Electrical woes are never fun, especially when it's a part you assume works. I helped a friend of mine re-wire a '67 Nova where the previous owner had gutted all the wiring to make it a racecar, had an electrical fire, and then lost interest. This was long before aftermarket wiring harnesses and OEM harnesses were far too expensive for his budget. So we wired the car one wire at a time. Very time consuming, couple of almost disasters, but very rewarding when the car started for the first time and everything worked. Look forward to more. Glad to here the recovery is progressing, albeit not as fast as you'd like I'm sure. Be safe and stay well.

      Thanks Brian. Man, I bet that was a ton of work rewiring that way. Very satisfying once it was done though I bet!

      Thanks for watching David. I was pretty sure that was how it was, but thanks for confirming. Hope you're getting to work on the car today.

    I believe that single light socket in the dash is fir the glove box light.there is a hole in the cardboard glove box insert.summit sells some nice wire harness loomthat is more of a cloth rather than plastic to use for the long stretch from the dash to the rear.glad you are planning on some events.

      Could be. I'm pretty sure I remember there is a separate wire for the glove box light. Tanks for the tip on the harness wrap, I'll check it out for next time.

    It's not easy being human sometimes, Brad.

      Yeah my doc says now is the time people screw it up, so I'm trying to follow orders and be super careful. Hope you didn't screw yours up too bad.

    Love your shirt. I have the same one and always try to make the wife happy.
    I'm used to seeing the Belair Dash (Chevy logos) with the deluxe heater controls. Is that the 150 series heater control?
    On your wires to the heater control, use the dash light wire (gray) to your ignition switch back light then the hot to your clock mount it to a USB outlet near you because now adays you will will need it. If not you could plug a solar panel into it to trickled charge your battery like a battery tender.
    Good luck with the rest of the wires.
    Oh yea 55s didn't have a connector foward of the hole in the firewall. That was started in 56.

      I've heard the heaters reffered to as standard or deluxe. My car is a 210, but as far as I know, came with this standard heater. Yeah I figure a USB outlet or two is probably a good idea, so I will be adding that at some point. Thanks for the tips and for watching!

      Thanks man. Yeah that switch was cheap for sure. I've got a switch in the shifter handle now, which I also screwed up once and had to replace but all good now.

    Maybe put a Bluetooth speaker behind that speaker grill. Glad your recovery is progressing, do what the PT tells you to and get back at it. Take care.

      I've considered the bluetooth speaker thing so that might happen. Thanks for watching!

    I find wiring very frustrating. I can do simple add on stuff but I really don't have much patience for it 😢

    • @MontanaGarage
      @MontanaGarage  Před 5 měsíci +1

      For some strange reason, I kind of enjoyed it. I probably would have said something different if you had asked when I was crawling in and out from under the dash a thousand times, but now that it is done...

    • @bigblockkings1031
      @bigblockkings1031 Před 5 měsíci

      @MontanaGarage you almost have to be a contortionist just to Get under the dash! In and out. In and out 😢

    • @MontanaGarage
      @MontanaGarage  Před 5 měsíci +1

      That is so true. Man I am glad I made the door bars for the cage removeable. I would have needed to be a super contortionist to wiggle around them bad boys.
