Dumb Tanks That Should Be Added To War Thunder IV

- It's no secret that I love really dumb and weird tanks. If it's wildly impractical, I'm here for it. Gaijin have already added plenty of vehicles like that into War Thunder, but a few more couldn't hurt, right? So I asked you guys for some suggestions on the last video in this series. This time we're gonna be talking about American oscillating turrets, Japanese CTA guns, and more.

If you guys could suggest vehicles that aren't related to the US, that'd be helpful. I typically do two US vehicles per video since they're easier to research, but I want to mix things up.
German Lynx uwu
Do the T58 Heavy tank! My favorite prototype
Edited
Scorpion KASTET, it's an Jordan (I think) modified version of the UK Skorpion version, carrying 2 ATGM and having a 30mm cannon auto-cannon, one got produced real life
(alot of correction needed so feel free to to correct some of it)
B78 GSR from Komatsu, I posted a separated message in the comments.
The czechoslovak kolohousenka
The SO-122 would be an effective meme tank, having an IS-2 cannon on an Easy Eight chassis using a T-34 engine. Only one prototype was made but the concept is just kinda funny
And I thought the M-51 was stupid until I found that thing.
@@Shaun_Jones makes the M-51 look practical in comparison
A T-34 engine, AND it's the backplate of the engine housing.
I have been saying this for months, thank you
Another Sherman variation is the AMX-13 turret on the Sherman hull, used by Israel
When it comes to stupidly funny tanks, the TOG 2 comes to mind. It just so impractical and slow.
No.... it's just too long...it was made to be a mobile armoured défendable bridge between Canada and Britain...not to fight
@@thefox787 well if a bridge is needed then the tog 2 is on it!
honestly, id love seeing a tog on the battlefield
probably a bit below the tigers, near the 4.0-5.0 range perhaps?
an angled tog would be an unstoppable force....
the superheavy panther lmao
@@InoriVoid Yeah panthers would be the bane of this vehicle
The Warrior IFV Desert Storm Variant would be an awesome addition to War Thunder. According to Wikipedia it had the 25mm Bushmaster and two TOW launchers!
Yse It would be a dardo equal. Great
More British ‘top tier’ is always welcome. Still waiting for the challenger 2 black knight.
I'd say CSP, for more rare stuff, CTA40 only turret on standard warrior chassis
Would more or less an answer stridsfordon 90 IMO
Challenger 2 with 130mm gun
Tbh we need more warriors in game as their are loads
The IM-SHORAD Stryker, with Stingers and ground launched hellfires (potentially has proximity fuses and frag sleeves on agm-114P-8). Way too new for any real documents, but the hull is already in the game.
Bt-42 would be a fun addition. It's basically a Finnish upgraded bt 7 with a British 114mm or 4½ inch gun. It's only 1.1 tonnes heavier than a bt 7 and little slower.
yes yes we know mr weeaboo.
@@cookiecracker2 you think that I like it because of the anime? No I'm Finn proud of my country. (Edit) maybe not about what Finland did in late 1910s an early 1940s. Ps. I don't watch anime.
@@cookiecracker2 bro fucking everyone knows about the bt-42. Girls Und Panzer did not make that tank famous.
@@lt.lettuce2023 ...But that's what my comment was saying....I literally said "yes yes we know" and I added "Mr weeaboo" as a reference to the anime girls und panzer. Apparantly he doesnt watch that, so the jokes ruined. But idk why you figured to snap at me.
Funnily enough, that gun is already in game on the Dark Adventurer gunboat in the British coastal tree
the scorpion light tank and its varients like the sabre would be neat, although idk how good the scorpion would be because it only fires HESH or HE out of its 76mm gun
Don't you mean BESH my fellow Badger shitter?
Second the Scorpion/CVRT family of vehicles. Especially the Scorpion 90, a variant that was made for the export market with a 90mm gun, Indonesia I know adopted it and still use it
@@pipopoikapelaa5468 🅱ESH
I really wanna see the scimitar
We should definitely get some CVR(T) vehicles in the game, though Scorpion seems the least likely to make it in IMO. It's very popular, and for good reason, but I do feel like a lot of the people asking for it greatly overestimate how good it would be. They see the 76mm gun and assume it would be like the M41, whereas it's actually worse than the SU-76M's 76mm gun. There's a lot of different figures given for the 76mm HESH, but most put it in the 80mm range (Jane's gives a figure of 90mm IIRC) and we know from firing tests that it pierces more than 64mm and less than 102mm, based on what parts of the target tank it could penetrate. This is not very good. It would either need to be really low, where it can pierce most tanks from the front, or (assuming it can reliably get through early Soviet and Chinese MBTs' 80mm hull sides) decently high so that it can fight lots of IFVs and light tanks that it can kill from the front while flanking MBTs to hit them in the sides. Either way, it doesn't look great for it: it'll either be a total anachronism, or more of a meme vehicle than an actually effective one. Literally all the other CVR(T) series are better suited for War Thunder, particularly Scimitar and Sabre now that we have the Type 87 to prove that a light vehicle with an autocannon can still be really effective even without CV90 levels of penetration. This is how well I think the different CVR(T) vehicles would work:
FV101 Scorpion: probably not very good, either ~4.0-6.0 depending heavily on if it can pen MBT sides. Even if it can, it's hard to justify it sharing a BR with the M41, let alone anything higher. Unlikely to fit the meta very well, possibly best as a novelty premium.
Scorpion 90: Ru 251 & Ikv 91 counterpart for Britain, there's no reason it couldn't be a very effective ~7.0 light tank. Definitely worth adding and would really help Britain out at that BR range.
Scimitar: 7.3-8.3 autocannon scout, slower than Type 87 RCV but better offroad performance, probably would play similarly. 30mm RARDEN is overall a worse gun, but not by enough to stop Scimitar doing really well at the same playstyle.
Sabre: same as Scimitar, but better as a premium or event vehicle. Less Sabres made, and in service at least they were worse than Scimitar, which is why they were retired pretty quickly. In-game it'd perform basically the same as Scimitar, so there's nothing lost by making it a rare or paid vehicle, and Scimitar is more worthy of being in the main tree anyway.
The Churchill IIINA: Churchill III fitted with the gun mantlet and 75mm M3 of a knocked out M4 Sherman.
7.5cm Pak 97/38(f) auf Pz.740(r): A captured french 75mm gun fitted to a captured T-26 used by the Germans.
T-24: A very early Soviet medium tank.
Leichttraktor: Look, we all played World of Tanks at some point. Prototype light tank of the Weimar German republic.
I know you asked specifically for not US tanks but you mentioned US oscillating turret designs and you didn’t mention arguably the most interesting.
The T58 Heavy Tank: It was the end of the US’s projects to use oscillating turret and the T58 was as ridiculous as it gets. It used a 155mm redesigned from the same model as the T30 and had a 6 round autoloader. All on a chassis of a M103
Even though some stats say a reload of 2-3 seconds the general belief is that it probably hit sub 6 seconds.
Now did it exist? Yes and no, it is believed that two pilot turrets were made and tested and one was even mounted on a M103 chassis.
At the end of the day this vehicle definitely pushes towards fantasy vehicles but in my opinion the rather ridiculous nature of the vehicle is worth it.
I mentioned that and the T57, the 120mm gun variant of WoT fame, in my comment on the previous video. The entire family would be fun to see, though in some cases specifications might be limited.
It would be really interesting if you did a video on the strange brazilian M3 Stuarts that were modernized and received 90mm guns and maybe the M41C which also had a 90mm gun. I think the M3s would be an interesting premium or event vehicle.
Churchill AVRE 290mm, it’s reload would be impractical but the pay off would be really good, just think all that explosive power. (Either the avre or the Churchill 95mm howitzer version)
Churchill VII AVRE would be practical, with the Centurion AVRE’s 165mm
This reminds me of the Sturmtiger
But then you'd get the "It's too OP" crowd that'll want it either nerfed or removed altogether
@@joeclaridy now it's here and it's most underwhelming tank from the most disappointing event lmao
Im still waiting for the Bob Semple w/ 183 mm QF L4A1 cannon 👍
The M39 Pantserwagen, a Dutch Armed Forces armored car being put into service around the time of the German invasion in 1940.
It had a 37mm anti-tank gun & 3 x 7.92mm Lewis guns. One coaxial to the main gun and 2 in the front & rear of the hull.
The three experimental variants for the Terminator for Russia would be hilarious. One had two guns just strapped to the top, another was basically like an enlarged and super heavily armoured PT and my favourite, a big fat flat turret with just 30’s strapped to the side and COVERED in ERA.
The M60-2000 is something I'd love to see in-game. Basically it's an M60A1 hull with an M4A1 Abrams turret on top. I feel like it would play pretty similar to the M60 AMBT already in the game and I could see it being a good event reward or battlepass vehicle at around 9.7
If the US tree got that, I think the German Tree would get the Leopard M48, which is a M48 hull with a Leopard 2A4 turret
I'd love to see the BMPT-72 ingame
Would've loved if the Kranvagn got added. It would be the first heavy tank for sweden.
And although it was a prototype that was never made, a hull was made, and tested with a weight to simulate the turret, and we know enough about it to qualify as a premium vehicle, or even a event vehicle. It would sit between 7.0-8.3
Another "dumb" vehicle would've been the Danish M41, or as I'd like to call it: Miniature Leopard A1A1.
i would love it. solely because that thing would curb stomp any heavy it sees, because unlike french oscillating turrets the karnvagn turret is hidden by like 300 or 400mm thick steel plate angled at like 55 degrees. .-.
@@Thekilleroftanks fake tenk.
@@cookiecracker2 not really. a fake tank would be the ostwind 2. this was an actual tank that was gonna be produced, just that the project was killed off due to funding issues i believe.
@@Thekilleroftanks it's way less fake and way more believable than the coelian
@@bro3217 coelian was made just without an fully steel turret. the kranv has a completed hull but the turret plans are there and nothing is revolutionary about it. thinking its a fake design is being pedantic,
The T-72 Moderna would be a nice dumb addition, although i'd most like to see it in some kind minor nations, like V4 tech tree.
It was in wargame so it's kinda known, but still. And there was one built so it's not a paper tank.
Also I just really love the idea of a T72 with just a BMP cannon(or two) strapped to it
Well it is now being added in the BP/Event?
Adding the French FCM2 C would really make the French low tier a lot more fun
You should make a video where u go over a ground tech tree (or maybe a certain tier of one) and "fix" it by adding vehicles it needs in their line up to be good, if they struggling.
This ^
B78 GSR, a japanese prototype tank-destroyer made by Komatsu. The B78 was an IFV fairly similar to the italian Dardo, while the GSR was a tank-destroyer version with a 105mm gun in an unmanned turret. The GSR would be similar to the TCM AGS present in-game, thought it would not have thermal sights and maybe no APFSDS shells. Very few information exists about this vehicle, so Gaijin would have to make up a lot of things about the tank. Still, could be a great addition to Japan, BR would vary according to how Gaijin plans to add it, minimum perhaps at 7.7/8.0.
I would really love to see the M109 Howitzer. It could be placed at 6.3 like the type 75 SPH and 2S3M.
If I remember correctly, the 2S3M Akatsiya was a vehicle built to rival it, so I don't see why the Paladin can't be added sooner than later.
Is that the old M109 with the 155mm L/23 or the M109 Paladin with the 155mm L/39?
As long as it doesn’t rely on looking down the bore to “aim”
those two are already op and annoying...
@@leeionicatlas6461 Yes... cause a vehicle with a long reload and so little armor that you could sneeze and kill it are op... not to mention the difficulty it has of actually hitting something past point blank
As a low tier tank i can suggest the FCM2C
It vas an absolute monster of Steel that was made to break any defenses lines and with no resistance
But BR 1.3 because world war one design
If you find the t69 interesting I recommend taking a look at the American T57, its basically the American equivalent of the AMX 50
OSA-76. It was the first step in SU-76 development. ASU-57 size, Battle Rating from 2.0 to 3.0.
The Alecto would be a super fun tank destroyer. It's essentially a British ASU-57, but with the really good 6pdr 57mm gun and the mobility of an improved Tetrarch chassis. There was also a version with a 95mm howitzer, and an incomplete version with a 32pdr howitzer. I would love to see the first two come to the game, and maybe the 32pdr variant could be a special vehicle
The VK 16.02 leopard from the Germans during the second world war could be a light tank at 4.7-5.7, depending on which variant your looking at
Which variants actually are there?
Sweden could possibly get a Tiger II of their own. They did get one after WWII for testing & evaluation.
They didn't accept for their own heavy tank design and just used it as target practice.
if it has 50mm on it, would be 4.7. but it have to be has +25hpton
also, it never saw wars but would be cool,
also, in one time, it will be on wt
@@kocayrklibirinsan3056 what would be the 5.7 version?
SPOOKSTON TELL ME YOUR OPINION ON IF THE SHERMAN BULLDOZER GOT ADDED TO WAR THUNDER
I don't think bulldozers would be very useful in and of themselves. but I think the M4A3 CEV with rocket launchers would be cool
Thank you for the input, I fully agree, P.S love the content man your videos inspired me to keep playing war thunder and strive for greatness keep up the good work!
I would like to see a vehicle with the MK-19. The MK-19 differs quite a bit from most HMGs and Autocannons in terms of gameplay. It would have high penetration that is can handle angles very well and doesn’t lose penetration over distance, alongside a large explosive filler that would likely one shot anything that isn’t a strategic bomber, but it has very low velocity meaning that aircraft would be impossible to hit unless head on(even that would be challenging with 200m/s muzzle velocity) and hitting moving targets and distant targets would be difficult(the latter could be solved by laser range finder). Some potential vehicles could the AAV-7, HMMWV or MATV with open top or CROWS system, Stryker. Not entirely certain where the AAV would be located BR wise, but the other vehicles would be in the 7.3 range and up.
I want to have the TOG II and the Scimitar (Reconnaissance Vehicle)
It has a 30mm ARDEN cannon
Is stupidly fast
Wouldn't be that effective because it has no ATGM's and just the 30mm but if it was at 8.0 or 8.3 it would be able to kill all MBT's from the side.
Plus I like the idea of a small stupid fast light tank for the Brits
Could TOG actually do anything useful?
@@Shaun_Jones No like in WOT it would be pretty useless but it would be fun and hilarious in a squad of 4 so for that reason and that reason alone I want it in the game
@@Katster the only good thing is that the terrible vehicle would end up dragging the 17pdr to a lower BR level. What do you think for its BR?
@@Shaun_Jones I'd put it at 3.3, 3.7 at a push
@@Katster that could work, it may be insanely slow, but the armor isn’t bad at that level and the gun is practically point and click as far as penetration. Imagine getting into a full uptier and you have to face that thing in a M14/41.
But what about the TOG 1? Same hull, but with a Matilda turret. Maybe 2.0?
I would've suggested a fast moving extra large boi in size, but we have the Class 3 P.
I've mentioned it a fair bit before but here's a summary. It's a wheeled “light tank” that can move 96kph on roads, has artillery support, APFSDS, HEATFS standard, 1200hp, built in x10 smokes, 105mm GT main gun...
It's a pretty fun tank for ambushing in 8.7 BR, in return for being the size of a MAUS. It's the partially successful grandson of the MAUS if used well.
I wish for an entire line of Italian wheeled vehicles, especially the 3Ro with the cannone da 90/53
3:16 They could use the ready rack mechanic for this. 2 rounds in the ready rack with a very short reload and then it goes to a normal 10 second reload.
LoHR VPX 5000, French light AFV prototype from 1981, equipped with either 7.62mg, 20mm autocanon or 2xMilan/4xHOT missiles. It's goofy AF but would fill an important gap for effective ATGMs at the 7.7-8.7 BR.
A great video, just like always. Keep it up man
The BT-42 would be a fun wonky tank to see in the game.
I’m worried about the T-69 though, if they let it be historically accurate. The thing shoots every 2 seconds. 2 second autoloaders are pretty nasty to say the least, especially the lower the BR.
The M38A1C jeep with MGM-21A atgms mounted to the back would be a fun meme machine
Maybe have the Davy Crockett Jeep at 7.7; least survivable vehicle in the game, carries like three shots, can potentially stomp an entire flank with one shot.
i got one: guy with javelin. perhaps even an entire squad to allow multiple shots. i think that this would be very balanced
Or how about a tractor?
If we're talking about big ass artillery guns, the Italians could get the Palmaria, a 155mm howitzer turret mounted on a modified OF-40 hull.
EDIT: The same hull was also used for the OTOMATIC.
EDIT EDIT: There's also a TAM VCA, which is the Palmaria turret on a TAM hull.
I love the thumbnail you've did for this video. That little shadow outline goes so great.
The BTR-90, I’m not sure of the exact name but there is one that appears to have a bmp-2m turret
You could make a series called "MAPS that sould be added" or "if X map was historically accurate"
Vehicle sugestions:
- COBRA 25 and COBRA 90
- COBRA IFV and variants
These COBRA's where Belgian prototype tanks, accualy found capable and promesing, but there was no gap in the market at that time and the new driving system was to 'new'
- T-13 series: Belgian ww2 light tank destroyers
- Cati-90: Cold war belgian tank destroyer, same concept as T-13 series ( still based on garden loyd carrier)
The T92 Howitzer Motor Carriage (T92 HMC) would be cool, it's basiclly a T92 chassi with a 240mm gun on top.
the japanese vehicle might be a really good addition given the limited option of vehicles for Japan.
The hellfire tank reminded me of a test done on the Patria AMV which was fitted with an extendable radar mast and a launch system for 4 hellfire missiles or the DAGR missiles?. While the machine was used for testing by Lockheed Martin it could be a fun addition to the Swedish tree being on a Finnish platform
Spookston can we get a “How Bad Was the Churchill”? I’d like to see how you play them and exactly where they stand in the balance of things.
Hey man I really love the content Keep it up! Stay on the grind
Dont know if its been in one of these videos already but i think the soviet brm1 would make a great vehicle. Its a scout modification with less missiles but it has a ground search radar. I think that would be cool.
Although an aircraft and not a ground vehicle, I want to see "Rosie the Rocketer," which would be America's Po-2 with six Bazookas
The 4 minute videos are a love and hate. I so enjoy just getting the point across with no BS, but the short videos always leave me wanting more.
The Scorpion tank used by britian as artillery in desert storm
Imagine if they add T57 heavy along side with the M103
I'm always up for a plate of armored weird. Strange, unknown esoteric, and oddly eclectic are also welcome. Thanks for the vid!
I would just really love to see the T54E2, just in the tech tree..
Churchill AVRE would be pretty fun
A M113 with Dragon ATGM would be neat as an early atgm carrier
outside us id say a tog2 as its a long boi and the crew capacity would be interesting to see
plus being able to basically cut off an entire road but wedging it between two buildings be pretty fun, could make some fun customs with it as well
I whould like to see the hummel getting added.
It's basically a Nashorn but with a long barreled 15cm l30 sfh18 gun.
It's mobility whould be worse than the Nashorns, whould have a horrendesly long reload for such a gun even outmatching the sturer Emil by a few seconds and whould be able to fire a capped he round against bunkers.
With so many artillery vehicles, why not simply add a top-down fire mode like with World of Tanks, except you can't see enemy vehicles?
no to the hummel because it had legit no gun depression. it would just mean anyone who has one on their team that isnt a city map has a useless fucking player.
@@Zorro9129 first to you.
We already have artillery vehicles in game ( ho ro, bkan, sturmpanzer 2, dicker Max, StuH 42, that s2 thingy for the Russians) so why not implement it like all these too?
Normal vehicles like they did with the already menshioned.
@@Thekilleroftanks and to you.
Just because it has a bad depression rate it's a bad tank?
It's basically a more destructive but less armored su 152.
Depression is about on paar, reload rate whould go higher but that to expect from a long 150 and 1st and foremost the players have most fun in 3 tank types:
1 bouncy heavys
2 fast flankers
3 big f off cannons
It whould basically be a Hi ro Sha but higher in br.
I love this series ❤
I know this is off topic but I have an idea that everyone including the devs might like. Instead of universal RP being pay to use they could be used for free but earned at a 25/1 rate or 100k normal RP to 25k universal RP or bought outright with golden eagles(knowing war thunder they are gonna be over priced). For current universal RP it could just be converted 1/1 or 2/1 into silver lions. That means you could stockpile them up for a vehicle you want while also grinding for another vehicle making the grind more rewarding. It could even be RP just for that country specifically so you have different pools of it which prevents people from getting free overpowered vehicles from trees they haven’t touched yet.
The British Armadillo: a lorry with an open top, armed with a rear facing 37mm gun
Bison Concrete Armored Lorry: It had machineguns at best but would be pretty fun for an event or something
Can you do one on Interwar tanks? They're more interesting imo, and in War Thunder anything beyond 6.7 just annoys me because of ATGMs and Modern vehicles slapping WW2 stuff.
I'd love to see more reserves to 3.0 content actually, despite being at 9.0 myself.
I’d still like to see the Praying Mantis vehicle in WT. Super silly but also a nifty looking vehicle
Despite being paper tanks, Id absolutely love to have a folder with all the KV-4 variants in it; Fedorenko proposal with the comedy turret, Buganov proposal being a 1940's Merkava, Tseits proposal looking like it stole a turret from the Krasny Kavkaz, etc. Lots of wild designs.
How about a soldier on a bike with magnetic mines
It would funny as hell
A simple machine gun would end them but they could hide in the weird spots
maybe an April fools event
I wanna see the sherman firefly with RP3 rails welded to the side of the turret. Know as the sherman tulips.
As I had suggested in your previous video on this topic. There are some latin America vehicles that could be fun. Such as the Brazilian modernized Stuarts or the Mexican DN-V bufalo and modernized M8 greyhound.
I think the CVRT series would be interesting, specifically the Scimitar.
On the AS90-t72 suggestion I’d like to add that vickers defence systems also looked in mounting artillery systems on other MBT’s. The predecessor to the AS90 was the GBT which saw the systems mounted on two main options, these being the chieftain MBT and later the challenger 1 hull creating the challenger GBT which competed with the AS90 for the British army’s next generation mobile artillery system but lost because the army didn’t see the point in using such a heavy and heavily armoured hull for such a vehicle.
The T58 Heavy Tank was actually built, which is basically a bigger brother of the T55E1 which features a 155mm cannon although it was never mounted on the tank itself. It would be fun to have an autoloading American heavy tank.
Awesome T54E1 gameplay, I love that thing
M6 Fargo would fit a role of a dumb tank. Low BR wheeled tank destroyer with the 37mm GMC M3 pointing to the rear. That would be somewhat similar to the Archer, except the gun could actually rotate (not 360° though). And although it's from the US, France has also used it. I don't know how does low tier France tech tree looks like, but it could be placed there as a premium.
Id like to see it in both US and France tbh. Fargo is an underrated meme of a vehicle and Iove it
The Verdeja No.1, No.2, and 75/40 would be fun vehicles for a potential Spain/Portugal tech tree. Couple that with the Brazilian EE-9 Cascaval, EE-11 Urutu, X1 Stuarts, the Osório MBTs, the Chilean M-60 HVMS, and a bunch of Spanish variants of the M46, M47, M60, and AMX-30, plus the Lince and Leopard 2E, and we’d have a pretty fun tech tree to play with!
The paraguayan stuart tank, the only one in service, I think it would make it very special, being the most updated one without changing entirely its design, the low tiers also can get new toys
Can't argue even just getting a few of these would be pretty awesome
I’m all for oscillating turrets but got damn, it’s like anyone who designed them was like “let’s make this as ugly as possible”
The T58 Heavy Tank is a dumb vehicle i'd like to see added.
And before people say. It was found the tank was actually built a few years ago
Driving around with an autoloaded 155mm. “This is my BOOMSTICK!”
i love the vids bro keep it up
Speaking of oscillating turrets, the Swedes have some that I’d love to see in war thunder
Can you talk about the ELC project and some of the tanks there. This could include the ELC 30, 90, 120. Ik the SL-11 exists but some more tech tree tanks would be great.
The Lav ad would be pretty cool a little battlefield3 throwback lol
The M109 SPH.
An SPH based on the M113 chasis - first versions apparently could swim too. There are also versions with a ridiculously short and stubby barrel.
Also the M109A3GEA1/2 "Emma" which were M109s updated to german standards - both to have something for the german techtree and because it does have an also ridiculously long designation.
I’d like to see more of the American T54 prototypes. I believe there are 2 more with conventional turrets with 1 mounting the same gun as the e1 but manually loaded and the other having a 120mm gun in the same conventional turret.
As far as I can tell the T54 never had a 120mm gun. You might be thinking of the T57 concept, that mounted a 120mm gun in an oscillating turret on the M103 chassis, or the T77 concept, which would have mounted a lighter version of the turret on an M48 chassis.
Now that Gaijin turned off the chat, people are shamelessly taking their KV-1Es and whatnot for a spawnkill ride, straight into the enemy team.
And you can't report them either. Just great.
Had anyone suggested the T-249 Vigilante? It was an American SPAAG that used a six barrel, 37mm Gatling gun. There were a lot of reliability issues with the gun. Can't remember if it saw service but it was in testing in the sixties.
How about some ww2 vehicles? All the suggestion are modern vehicles. I will give a throw at the stug 4 being a premium or maybe some obscure tanks like the romanian marshal tank
M6 Linebacker would be nice, around 9.0-9.3 maybe? or right next to the XM975
The M113 GLH-H had 2 sets of smoke grenade systems, two quad-grenade launchers fixed to the upper front galcias (standard M113 loadout) and a two triple-grenade launchers, one in the lower front of each turret cheek. There are plenty of picture that show the right turret launcher but none that show the left one clearly. What is known is that there is a mounting plate, painted "white", where the left one would go and that the original picture of it firing in the July-August 1997 Armor magazine shows "something" mounted there (hidden by shadow).
Just as the TOW launchers were to have them in IRL (but not in game for some reason), this would also have thermals as IR nvgs have issues with the motor washing the view out.
The FCM 2C is generally a tank most people want to be added to the game, it can be well balanced considering how easy it will be to flank, and how hard its gun would hit
I have a few thoughts on Chinese vehicles, we made some pretty wacky ones in the 1960-70s.
WZ122-3, a variant of the WZ122 that has a quad Obj 704 ATGMs mounted on top of the main gun, the prior being the prototype of a type 69. Nothing special, until one gets smacked in the face after a failed pen.
WZ141-1 or WZ141-2, a tiny M50 but on even more crack, it has two 106mm RC rifles which are copies of the M40A1C just like the type 60, but has another 2 HJ-73B(SACLOS variant of the malyutka). This can be a good mix between a M18/M64 and the CM23 TOW.
QN-506, some might think it is a BMPT-type design, which is quite close, but it focues more on fire support, hence it uses 20 guided rockets, but also has 4 heavy missiles as good as vikhrs. On a rank 4/5 chassis it would be a good idea for China to have some kind of marder type vehicle, while being much better protected but worse in mobility and larger in profile.
Lynx AIFV with a 25mm rotatry cannon and quad SAM launchers. It would be similar to the LAV-AD, but used in a different doctrine, so it is light, but not as traversable as the LAV-AD. It too lacks a radar but has IR/EOTS trackers, with the FN-6, similar to the mistral as the missile. Although the type 04A is a good vehicle for 9.7, something at anever higher BR could do with better AAs.
The best meme tank that I've been wait on for a while is the BT-42. It's just so funny looking and I feel like it would be perfect for war thunder
Something I'd love to see added to the tank tree for the USSR would be the T-62 ZET-1. The quick and easy is it's the base T-62 that we have in game, but with an umbrella-like mesh towards the end of the gun barrel meant to prematurely detonate ATGMs, HEAT, etc. and the mesh screen is big enough to cover almost all of the turret and hull, so long as the gun is facing wherever the shell is coming from
Edit: a quick side note is that I believe this exact modification (the mesh screen towards the end of the gun barrel) for the T-62 I just mentioned was also tested with T-55s and T-54s but I could be mistaken
I think it would be quite fun to have the FV3903 Churchill AVRE (the one with the 165mm) as maybe an event vehicle or something, they did make a reasonable amount of them but the vehicle is quite unique and would make for a fun addition. I'm thinking maybe 5.7 because although the tank hull itself is not going to be particularly good comparatively, it is going to basically have a one shot cannon as long as it hits, no matter what tank it hits (same as the cent AVRE)
I have a genuine question: why are your videos so short? Don’t get me wrong, they’re wonderful, full of info, with little to no filler. Is it because the covered content doesn’t require a video longer than 5 minutes? Or is this what does best in the algorithm for you? Or was there a community poll I missed asking which length video the audience preferred? All of the above? I suppose only thing I’m really complaining about is that these amazing videos you produce last so little time. Keep up the great work dude.
I would recommend the AAV SUP a American amphibious assault vehicle I have no information on it, but it has a 40mm automatic grenade launcher and a 12.7 machine gun. I don't know if any weapon system was equipped on this vehicle but who knows.
The cannone da 90/53 would pretty neat to see because it’s Italian anti air that isn’t around 20-25 mm and it’s on the back of a truck bed, would also help the gaps in the tech tree if Gaijin thought of adding it to the game.
The brdm "bathtub" and btrd 2-23mm aa sound cool
I’ve always wanted to see the Landkreuzer P1000 and P1500 just because I’d want to see how massive it would be if Gaijin took its theoretical measurements into account. A more reasonable addition though would be the Panzer VII Löwe (Lion) since it would theoretically be a 70-90 ton vehicle that can travel at 22-35 km/h.
-The three autocannon equipped Panhard CRABs. 25mm M242, 30mm M230LF, and 30mm ZTM-1
-Tridon SPAA
-PLZ-83 and PLZ-83-130
