More Tanks That Shouldn't Be Added To War Thunder

- I've talked at length about tanks Gaijin could or should add to War Thunder, so again I'll be talking about tanks that I think would have an overall negative impact on the game's balance and gameplay. Some of these could be added at some point in the future, but War Thunder's balancing environment needs to be cleaned up first.

They would just give M45 post-war nonrotating HEAT round. Basically mini MBT-70.
The Type 93 has convinced me that, at super high tiers, dedicated recon vehicles have a place. I've, without glitching the map, scouted teams so well that my team just crushes the enemy countless times. A Humvee with a Mk19 or even just a .50 cal or Minigun would be really good at 9.0 in my opinion. You might think that armament is super low, but the ability to go that fast on the map and scout things is just that powerful. I tried to use the Type 87 a similar way at 9.7 to the Type 93, and despite its armament, the difference in speed was huge.
But a humvee would be insanely fun. One with an ATGM might even be impossible to balance.
Honestly the only thing I have only disagreed with on with these videos is the addition of WW1 era vehicles as I whole heartedly believe adding in the vehicles that started the advancements into air and ground combat that now make up this game and the pure fact it would be just simple good fun.
Would be cool if you did a video on AA vehicles.
Why not add the M-1-16 as an option for delivering a nuke but let it spawn in a normal location instead of the airfield and have to drive to the center of the map?
It would be absolutely hilarious and add some variety to the nukes. It could be 250-500 points cheaper for people that decide to risk it for the memes.
In Russian slang we have a word "вигру"- it's means "add into the game", often we use it as a joke when there is a newfound ridiculous vehicle
How do you pronounce it? I would like to know how.

The merkava style ATGM carrier is made to trick the enemy to think that Izrael has a lot of normal tanks, when they take a satelit picture, while they are somethig totaly else. This will make the enemy to plan their offensive into heavy direct eye-contact anti-tank combat, but it will be a long range non eye-contact battle.
A lot like our old South African Valkiri MLRS system, we just slapped it onto a logi truck's bedframe, so it looked like a harmless truck until it raised the bedframe. Sneaky boiz
Even normal Merkavas can launch ATGMs out of their main barrel with the LAHAT round. Leo2 and Abrams also use them.
And if I remember correctly I see a documentary say * atgm carrier are kill first targets* for they have great kill power and low armor.
As an Israeli, i can confirm
Do Israel's enemies even have spy satellites? Or do they use high-altitude recon aircraft and drones for gathering intel? Either way, Israel needs more vehicles imo
"They could be added, but once gaijin cleans up war thunder a bit"
AKA never.
So true
I said the exact same thing.
The Pereh was made to look like A normal tank to deceive enemies into thinking it was A standard mbt with standard mbt firing range, usually around 3-4km. The Pereh's Spike NLOS have A range of 25km. So if an enemy force thought they could simply send in some tanks to fight these supposed enemy IDF tanks the Pereh Spikes would be able to engage the enemy long before they would be able to fight back.
edit: And to add to that, now that we all know about the Pereh/spike missiles now as they were first declassified in 2015, potential enemies of the IDF will still have to be VERY SUSPICIOUS whenever getting intel on the location of IDF "mbt's" and they may still not be mbt's.
Did they ever actually test these missiles against targets beyond visual range? How would they guide missiles to a target 25km away?
The Pereh is not the first tank to be disguised. Some efforts were made to camouflage the long barrel of the 17-pdr to not make it obvious which tank in the UK M4 platoon was the Firefly
@@gmodrules123456789 i think the spike is tv guided
@@gmodrules123456789 the specific missilie used(The Spike NLOS) "Non Line Of Sight" is an ultra long-range version of the weapon (Israeli designation: Tamuz, תמוז), with a claimed maximum range of 25 kilometres (16 miles). It is a significantly larger missile than other Spike variants-The Spike NLOS uses a fiber optic link similar to other Spike versions, but only out to 8 km, after which it employs a radio data link for command guidance.
@@richardbell7678 where did I claim it was the first disguised tank?
I'd like to see a M551 Sheridan with the T-80 OPFOR 'disguise'. The only gameplay changes I can see is a little more armor and a nonfunctional commander gun. I just think it looks cool.
If it does come then it'll likely be an event vehicle. Since it's in a similar realm as the ersatz M10.
I mean, the gun could be functional its effectively the original gun with a toilet paper role glued to it
Just looked it up, I’d love that or it disguised as a ZSU
hey you know there is also a M1 Abrams Opfor 👀. Could be fun to see that type of skin added to warthunder
Do you mean the Sheridan Vismod T-72?
Y'know what, the M116 Davy Crockett could actually be a interesting SP "kill-streak" for higher tiers. Say, instead of a game-ending detonation you could choose between a B-29 or a land-based m116: The M116 wouldn't necessarily end the match, and could in theory be utilized to get SL/RP for being good enough to get the SP cost but would take considerable luck to use effectively.
i like that idea
and probably a "normal" tech tree version with regular HE rounds
maybe around 4/5. something, considering it would be fast and low armor would mean low spall, but its gun would be very inconsistent+ risk deleting itslef
@@zjanez2868 decent idea, but I can see a lot of people using the tank to suicide bomb and get 3 easy kills. They would rush a dense enemy area, and let one of those HE rounds rip. Kinda just another way for revenge bombing to happen but on the ground. Idk just my take.
@@SpooderOfficial it’s only a KV-2 shell equivalent at super low velocity
@@SpooderOfficial it wouldn’t be the HE round for the kill streak version. It would be nuclear.
The Pereh was made to look like a tank with it’s fake gun like how 76mm Shermans had lines on their barrel to look like it was a 75mm Sherman. Resembling a tank silhouette, it would blend in with Merkavas and not be singled out or targeted. The Pereh was a high value and powerful vehicle which would be prioritized over other vehicles.

Paper ships can be added to War Thunder, as long as the design papers are detailed enough. This doesn't mean that Garry Jib will start to pull BS out of their asses like WG, but we will probably see stuff like, lets say, the Sovetsky Soyuz class BBs.

Would love to see the Canadian Skink 4x20mm AA mounted on the Sherman chassis. Shipped to Europe in late '44 I think.
That would be a great vehicle for Britain
Would definitely be fun
yeah i know that vehicle. i don't know why that thing not added to game. that would be great for english tech tree.
It was used as anti infantry, thw luftwaffe had ceased to exist before it was sent
It would be perfect to give Britain and US a Wirbelwind “equivalent”

Repair cost is to balance vehicles
MMmmm...
@@legate5923 it is to balance the player performance in it. Example:

The Davy Crocket could be a good "power vehicle". Like a kill/score requirement. Like a bomber is 3 and a nuke is 20? I think it might be interesting to have a so-called “sub battle rating” category for really horrible tanks that wouldn’t fit into the game. Of course the player should be unable to gain or lose any sl but it might be fun to play with meme tanks.

I think the t20 with the auto loading m3 75mm gun would be a really fun edition. I forget the right e-designation for it but I know it’s in hunnicut’s book about American heavies
oh... was it something weird like T21 or T22? I know the T21 is in WOT as basically a "what if the T20 was a light tank", but that might have absolutely nothing to do with how the actual design was IRL

the first tank is kind of funny how you put it - "wouldnt meet gaijins requirements". you do know these are the same people that added the non-existing ho-ri production, right? im pretty sure they dont give a fuck whether it was built or not
Gaijin got deceived by Mai_waffenträger into thinking it was real
she appearantly faked sources to get it added.
I think the M45 Pershing 105 would be really cool to see at maybe 5.3 considering what you said about it. Though also considering that Gaijin made the Jumbo 76 6.3 I seriusly doubt they'd be able to balance in in any way whatsoever.
totally not 5.3 i think
maybe, idk
The Abrams CATTB and TTB would be wonderful 12.0 top tier MBTs imo, but only as part of a total and complete addition of other like-minded MBTs for that new tier, ie, all the other 140mm armed MBTs (Panzer 87-140, Leclerc T4, Leopard 2-140, Object 292). Maybe you could dedicate a video to this potential new top tier with all these extreme hard hitters Spooky?
Wait whats good in the cattb and ttb?
What's the point of these vehicles? No, seriously, what's the point of introducing them? You don't get that gameplay won't change? Repair costs will go up, grind will be even worse, but you won't get any fun in return. And you won't get an OP vehicle anyway since that's not how balance works, even pathetic snail one:D
@@viktorkiovics5371 the Abrams CATTB not only gets access to a 140mm cannon, but it has immensely better armor than the standard Abrams. The TTB is a regular Abrams, but the turret is tiny and unmanned (like the M1128) with all the crew in the hull.

Spookston, the only running XM800 is operated by the Eagle Field Foundation a bit south of San Jose California. They are a traveling armor museum and don’t have an open to the public location you can normally visit. However, given your interest in that and other Cold War light tanks I bet if you contact them they may be a good resource for information and, if you find yourself in the area, there’s a decent chance you can explore the insides of the XM800 and a couple other tanks you have mentioned being a fan of in your videos.
3:16 Everybody acting gangsta' until you pull up with the sawed-off m26 pershing.
slight corection, the davy crockett was more like 6 times the fab5000. the fab5000 has 3 tonnes of tnt, while the crockett had a yield of 20 tonnes equivalent. it puts into perspective how even the most pathetic nuke is stronger than any reasonable chemical bomb.
How do you feel about radar guided sams? Like the Hawk or Tor missile system.
Spookston could you discuss the VK 16.02? Ive been looking and I can’t seem to find many videos on it. Can you?
It s basically if the panther was a light tank
I really enjoy this kind of video, you should really start doing them more often
A vehicle I'd like to see is the m40. It's a 155mm gun motor carriage used during the late stages of ww2 by the US. It would basically be like the German super gun at 1.3 or whatever it is that has 63mm pen with HE. I really like the hard to aim and use super big 1 shot tanks. High risk high reward.
I’d love the M40! I’d love for France to get it as well, as they got a number of them from MDAP. And slight correction, the M40 also had an APHEBC round that could one tap a Tiger II..
So, it may be a bit higher than you were expecting! 😉
Does it have a actual gunner sight or do you have to “aim” by looking through the barrel? Whole reason the Japanese Type 75 got added is because it has a actual gunner sight for direct fire. Most SPGs (even modern SPGs) don’t

I actually think the Pereh would make a really good event vehicle. Not now obviously but eventually, when we get spikes (because mark my words they *are* coming and soon). After the april fools event, gaijin said something to the tune of spike's working kind of like PARS-3's where you have to have a direct line of sight to lock the missiles, and the missile will require a dlos to the target.

Hi spook you probably won’t see this but I’m planning on buying a Apex computer and was wondering if it came with RTX because I was looking at the steal beast medium and it didn’t specify if it had RTX or not

What’s the name of the m60 with the 165mm
If I recall Gaijin said that the spikes will come into the game but will lack the TV guidance for balance. So I'm assuming you would need visual on the enemy to lock up and then the missile would be fire and forget

Good video but what about M51 super sherman added to game either as a premium or event vehicle. Also, what br would be good for it both AB and RB?
Two variants of Warrior were fitted with dummy guns to allow for more equipment to be placed in the turret, these were both artillery vehicles, battery command vehicle (BCV) and observation post vehicle (OPV). The only weapon system they had was the coaxial 7.62mm chain gun.
What graphics settings do you use?
I really want to see the ELC series of vehicles, such as the AMX ELC bis, and the ELC even 30/90/120 variants. Since they are prototypes, they would be best served as either event vehicles or battle pass vehicles, given how War Thunder likes implement prototypes these days.
Well, ELC AMX Bis was found in the big leak, so you’re in luck! 😉
I really want the patton engineer variant with the british 163 howitzer. I forget the specific designation but few were built. I also dont know if they ever saw service or what upgrades they got, if any. Only that it exists and is hilariously overgunned.
Is the maus going to be added again for research ?
What's your opinion on the Churchill AVRE ?
It would basically be a British KV 2 but at a higher BR because of the Churchills armour
whats ur opinion about adding polish tanks ? i really would like to know if it will be good choice to add them
Is that the PEREH on the thumbnail?
(Nvm just got to that part in the vid and I think the PEREH was an adapted tank so that it had the armor and would be scarier that a humvee or something else carrying Spikes)
Not a viechle but could still be disputed quite alot, 6pdr apds shells, would they work in warthunder?
That shot in the first clip literally curved with the earth
Question: what do you think of using prototype vehicles as premiums for nations that have minimal premiums in the game, such as France, Italy or Sweden? Some nations need more premiums like jets or whatnot, so ot can be helpful. But is it worth the speculation based statistics?
The pereh could just be added with dumbed down spikes, which would just work like normal atgms.
They could add it but not yet, maybe with truly modern tanks like the T-14, M1A2C etc it could be balanced.
Thanks for the subnautica music, got me to play it again. Great game with great music used by a great youtuber.
How dare you say no to the Pershing Jumbo. (You do make some good points tho)
I'd love for it to get added but I'd be afraid of it getting the jumbo 76 experience of uptiered into useless ness
Ehi in your opinion they will ever try to add something like a trophy system for some modern mbt or it would be too hard to implement?
I think the skink sherman would be fun to have mostly cause it would be an interesting anti air since it's a Sherman just with a different turret with 4 20mm cannons, and I believe although they were produced at the end of the war 2 DID see combat so it meets gaijins requirements
What's your opinion on the Tog II being added?
Damn, might have to do another one myself!
I heard of an amphibious tank that could be dropped from a ship to the sea floor, move along it, and up on to the beach. Can something like that work?
I really enjoy your videos, no matter what exactly they´re about. I agree with most of the points you make and learned some stuff aswell. Keep up the good work man! :)
could make the open top nuke launcher carry a limited number or 1 nuke round and the rest being HE training rounds it could be a good tank depending on reload rate but you take out expecting to get killed pretty quick because its open top and gaijin doesnt allow things like bracing the crew so they get to less vulnerable positions
I'd live to know what a ammo detonation would look like in the Davy Crockett carrier.
Do you think the british could get some avre type tanks for the techtree? Like the Churchill avre
Is that a real thing?
Imo, I'd say they'd end up being some obnoxious crafting event reward and even then, probably not the AVRE. Although, there was a version called Arty Aggie that had a recoilless launcher that fired a 60~ KG projectile at a maximum range of 300 meters. AVRE and Aggie would be borderline useless but they would be interesting vehicles for absolute meme stomping.
I would love to see many of the USA's humvee based AA platforms with missiles and cannons
Could you do any discussion on anything Canadian or the history of our tanks, even the leopards from German? Something about a possible commonwealth tech tree, include the Australians and all other commonwealth countries? Even if a lot would be copy paste?
About Spikes:
in a Q&A gaijin said they wont give the spike its MITL guidance capability and limit it to Lock on before launch Fire and forget, just like the PARS 3 on the Eurocopter Tiger in the german tree
with this the Spike needs a direct line of sight to hit and cant spawncamp enemies across the map.
it will be then more like a slightly better TOW-2B at longer range, and slightly worse at short range as it relies on lofting up
Wait wait wait. The Fallout Fatman and the mini nuke luncher of Metal Gear was a real thing? Yikes... I have the dream of Churchill AVRE, my body needs more AVRE
do you think the bigger pz 2's should be added?
(ausf j, luchs, etc)
Definitely love these videos
Not gonna lie man your videos are amazing and I really love your channel!
It's wierd hearing Spookston using the in game sounds rather than custom mod sounds...
Just because you added the 490, could you make a short segment, or a whole video on the Object 477a?
I would like to hear your opinion on the Churchill AVRE and how a spigot mortar would be balanced
I think the forum suggestion for the M45 mentioned an experimental HEP round. I'd probably enjoy the M45 (done right) at around 5.7-6.0.
How about ammo types? Specifically the LAHAT ATGM round that Merkavas, Leo2s and Abrams can launch from their main gun barrels.
Might as well add POLYPHEM for Leclerc and Ariete
I wonder if BattleTech copied the looks of Object 490 for the Clan *Mars* Assault Vehicle, only the one in BattleTech is a 100 ton vehicle that is the size of a single-family house.
I would like them to add the M7 Priest to the game as a event vehicle.
Id like to see some tank drifts in the gameplay please
I wish Naval was a bit more popular would make an interesting list of ships to add and not add
Is the lion of babylon a vehicle that should or shouldn't be added?
Glad my suggestion of the Pereh made it in that would be hell to play against
What do you think about add other nations that couldn't have their own techtree too Minor nations to fill out lineups like Switzerland to Italy or france. My suggestion of a tank to look at would be the pazer 86
honestly surprised there was no mention of the abrams AGDS.
I want the one french M8 that got an AML Turret.
Or the AML Eclairage (ATGM and 20mm)
Or the AMC 6X6 (ATGM + 30mm)
Or the AMX13 VCI with the NA20 turret. Would be a nice tech tree ss11 platform
Or the the french Ferret with a 75 recoiless gun (done on Mk2 and Mk1, so there's also a premium/event variant)
Nothing weird, all can have a place in the tech tree without a problem
As a world of tanks player I would like to see the Object 140 or the Swedish Emil heavy tanks added. The Emil has a hull built (no turret), and the Object 140 has a full prototype built in a museum
That weird Merkava thing reminds me of the Manticore from Battletech.
Maybe they should add the Canadian Ram tank, it had a 6 pounder gun but earlier models used the much more easily available 2 pounder gun.
Ideal for around 2.3-3.3 on the BR.
