I'm ngl having a "BR 0.1-0.9" April fools event with WW1 would be an interesting thing, perhaps without accurate matchmaking (because then it'd be the FT and Mark I-VIII Vs the A7V and basically nothing else)
nah not even as an april fools, I'd much rather have a BR:0 than a BR:12.
Warthunder chooses a fairly arbitrary point to start their tech tree, there's plenty of earlier designs that would be great to have and play with.
The problem is that world war 1 tanks only had HE shells and in war thunder those simply dont do anything when they dont have enough umpf to go threw the armor.
It goes without saying that this isnt accurate, considering the fact that a British landship managed to substancialy damage a german barn tank thing with its guns.

One thing to also remember about flame tanks: How many IRL explosions will happen when one attacks someone in a low-end PC?
On russian, asian, and south American servers it is instant kaboom for 90% of pcs.
considering enlisted runs on a modified version of the same engine last i heard and the flamethrowers there are well optimized i'd say, 2, maybe 3
I mean the question should be "how many cities have i demolished with my completely over the top mechanic"
The fact that this is the only game in my PC that could drop my FPS from 100 to 5 in just matter of seconds for no particular reason in low setting means that, no, don't put flamethrower in yet...

@@Standard_Aussie balanced because they are neutered, the sturmtiger shell acts like a 50kg bomb instead of the 250kg it should act as and reloads super quickly compared to its irl counterpart, so its fully unrealistic and imo added only to please the dumb crowds
for the flamethrowers, its like the excavator/scoop feature of some tanks, a total gimmick, again to generate hype from people who can't think for 5 seconds

Ok, hear me out: We put the Bob Semple in the game, and to make it useful against enemy tanks we do what every General wanted to do to every tank from the 70s to 2000s and just slap a shit load of ATGMs to the side.

If the sturm tiger was to be added, I'd have it an option for the off map artillery you call in. Even if it was a april fools update, the thought of a single 125kg explosive being dropped on a location instead of a barrage of smaller shells could be a fun idea.
I’ve wanted a system for a while now where, if you’re in an SPG with a meme cannon (Sturmpanzer) or anything with rockets, and your gun is elevated high enough, it’d show the artillery icon on your map as an indicator as to where it would land. It wouldn’t be 100% accurate as that would be OP, but it’d be nice to see something like that. I’d love to barrage rockets into an objective or rain 150mm hell

convenient arty aiming brings the kind of gameplay dynamic essential to the hate behind CAS: you either engage in forced rock-paper-scissors by playing counter-spg or plane, or you remain hidden 24/7 in fear of being slapped by the might of a hardly reachable opponent. rng does not fix such polarizing dynamic.

Ngl, the closest thing to the sturmtiger's power ingame is the RBT-5's dual 250kg rockets
and that is kinda a joke tank. such as the maultier. sturm would be dumb, but fine

Yeah, tried them too. If there's a BT 5 and / or Pz II C with 2 grams of brain (and there are clubbers who do that), they will cap 2 points, sit on a hill above spawn and murder you again and again. Only good thing is AMD.35 tho it accelerates like shit but vertical guidance is ok, horizontal too and solid shot isn't that bad if you can land your shots.
Luckily, I've spaded them when the French tree was added, so I at least got to use the strong armour. And remember, that was before the mathematical model, so those guns actually had *some* perforative performance.

The Char B1 is good though, and the Char Ter is godlike.
The Bob Semple had a design with a 37MM cannon of some sort, that could reasonably be added as a reserve 1.0
Technically would make it feasible for a 0.9 of sorts at least

Given your thoughts on the XM800T, I reckon that you would be against a base variant LAV-25? Armed with only a bushmaster and thermals it would likely be the highest BR version of the fast autocannons. LAV-AT and LAV-AD would both make good additions imo as 10.0+ vehicles but I cant see the base model being included. Unless they include the fictional version from BF4 that included tow missiles.
The tow version actually did exist in prototype form so it could come in and it was able to fire it's missiles but like it said it was only a prototype

And the piranha is in service with the swiss army with a tow launcher

1 year later and here we have our 1st flamethrawer tank, welcome churchill crocodile
Gaijin took a look at your video and said, “Oh, is that a challenge?” Putting both the Sturmtiger and a Flamethrower tank into the game in the same update.
Fortunately they’re both balanced, the Strumtiger’s round isn’t nearly as deadly is it actually would be, you destroy whatever you hit, but it’s you’re not going to get 2 unless they’re literally touching each other. The reload has been shortened to the longest Gaijin could go with it still being useful, at ~50 seconds. The flamethrower tank is just a regular old WW2 heavy, and only destroys open top vehicles. Cool gimmick against open tops, but also useful because it’s just a regular good WW2 heavy.
Well the Sturmtiger is comming to the 10 years aniversary and flamethrowers are now a thing too

What about adding the Canadian 20mm quad aa Sherman, the Skink? Developed '43 and actually saw combat but was mainly used against infantry as the Luftwaffe was already mostly decimated. I say bring it as that niche has mostly garbage.
That should be added, the US needs a better SPAA than the M19 or M42. I doubt it will be OP as its 20mms won't be the best, but its going to be far easier to get kills with than the M19 and M42. Now of course, if Gaijin would just model twin and quad barrel SPAAs correctly, we wouldn't need it as much as their fire rates would double.
@@PilotTed i'd say left that one to the brits. Since the u.s still actually has a pretty large pool of possible spaa's to expand. But otherwise still very much welcomed and overdue addition.

iirc there was a planned version of the BoB Semple with a 37mm AT gun in the turret instead of the Vickers Machine Gun.
A weapon to surpass Metal Gear.
And an American 37 no less so basically the best 37mm tank gun in the game

@@iamneverpro2479 if a tank is being engulfed in fire there will be no oxygen for crew to breathe, it's one reason modern tank crews have oxygen masks inside the vehicle

@@iamneverpro2479 WW2 Flamethrower tanks (And flamethrowers) can easily kill the tankcrew. It would cook them alive. The Fins did this to the Soviets by throwing molotovs at them let alone a powerful flamethrower mounted on a tank. WW2 tanks are very bad in terms of keeping stuff out.
Imagine creating a temporary firewall in that street or a chokepoint, so enemy cannot pass through there.
Except they could, if they were fast enough maybe. If the fire worked similar to smoke screen persistence and the damage would be done like if the vehicle was passing through deep body of water, just damaging the crew faster than the components.
This would bring use for napalm too!

In sturmtiger's case, it would be the a gimmick, collector's vehicle. And with a good br, it can be somewhat useful
You missed one the pz2 j this one has 80mm front armour 50mm side and rear armour with the 100mm turret and has 20mm auto Canon You can't put it in a higher BR it won't do anything and can't put it in lower BR it will rip through anything as much as I want this one it's a bad idea but I want them to put the

Ehhhhhh i mean. Yeah you cant really put it all that high. Because it would be pointless. But you can also put it around 3.7 to 4.0 and
1. It cant pen many things but still can do damage to light or side armor mediums or hit specific weakpoints. it would literally be only for cqc though
2. It can bounce some shells but it is fucked by the big chunk of tanks unless it is angled. Even so some wont care. Particulary TDs or in case of playing arcade the pz4s
It would prolly be sht. Or not since idk a tank that can survive something and isnt premium or undertiered like the pz4s would be fun. By no means objectively good and horrible on uptiers tho though it would be sorta like. The jumbo of germany. But in a worse spot overall but by no means unplayable-

64mm is enough pen, and thats what its gun can do. it would be fine in 3.0 i think.

Sturmtiger is best, it needs to be there.
It is worth it
If Sturmtiger would be added in a realistic way then it should destroy 1/4 of the map and kill all its surrounding teammates when getting ammoracked.
And it will get ammoracked because there is a 380mm wide hole in the middle of the frontal armor with a shell right behind it. Oh and ofcourse, U.S. tanks will almost always shoot first (because U.S. players are not so incredibly braindead that they manage to get the Jagdpanther down to 6.0).
@@jakobc.2558 not really. If I remember correctly, the explosive mass in it is roughly what's equivalent to a 250kg bomb
@@socialjihad5724 if it was carrying shells, up to 15, then it would be a 4000kg bomb, basically, not 250. And it wouldn't be fair on enemy's at all. It is possible to die from enemy ammo rack in game so if you racked it at close range it would kill you and anyone else in the area.
I can't find the exact quote, but in Germany, late war, a sturmtiger crew refused to destroy their tank after it ran out of fuel (to prevent it falling into allied hands) because it would destroy half the village.
Sturmtiger is just a Pe-8 on tracks, despite how nice that rocket is, it's gonna take forever just to reload plus teammates will get caught in the crossfire and that'll only get people ticked off, both Allies and Axis players. Brummbär is better and doesn't end up nuking half a map. The armor with the gun is basically putting it in a Maus situation and that was pulled due to how tough it was to balance it and nobody wants a situation like the Maus again with Sturmtiger. Overall it's better to not add Sturmtiger and just go buy a Tamiya 1/35 or 1/48 Sturmtiger or a Dragon die-cast 1/72 model, that's a more easier way to get a Sturmtiger
@@jakobc.2558 not only that the sturmtiger was highly inaccurate in one of the combat missions it was tasked to destory a bridge to stop allied advance instead of hitting the bridge the shot missed completely and hit 3 nearby tanks and blew them the fuck up.
so shooting the dam thing is going to be a toss up if you hit or not

Couldn't you folder the sturmtiger under the brumbar? Same with the flamethrower tanks. The sturmtiger wouldn't hinder people trying to get through the tech tree but would allow people to meme every 10 minutes. Flame thrower tanks would be at risk of brew up and losing their fuel if the little tank trucks behind are lit up.
The Sturmtiger would be awful to play against.

The Sturmtiger one aged badly huh Spookston?
The Points on the sturmtiger somewhat confuse me. The guns reload is probably the only logical one. Other than that not much else. Its somewhat slow and cumbersome but offers good protection. Its just another SPAG like the KV2 or brummbar ( given taken to an extreme) and would fit well at a higher BR like 6.7 or 7.3 (an area where armor would go against it making a 4x kill shot or something of the like way harder). Its gun would essentially make it a PE8 of ground vehicles, and like the pe8 id imagine you would only get one shot off before you would die unless you end up in the rare situation of your team actually supporting you.
But ofc this is just the opinion of a wheraboo, im sure in missing something that would completely devastate my argument.

imagine someone using a flamethrower and that audio bug happens where it plays the flame audio non-stop even when they stop firing.
I don't think the Sturmtiger would be problematic balance wise (unless put at a ridculously low tier like 4.0) because yes it takes minutes to reload to possibly kill multiple tanks but some tanks can kill multiple in 30 seconds anyway. The gun would not only be hard to aim but it would be a shell magnet
With reload time it has it would be mostly a Gimmick and same as Sturer Emil the lower it would go the least useful it would get

"brummbar is balanced" yes it is, because tanks really should be able to withstand 3+ enemies at once in a downtier, and have over 120mm+ of armor that's angled and should instakill most tanks at close ranges.
Gaijin took one look at this video and said "Challenge accepted"
I think some of these could be added, just like how they already exist. As user missions, that you can use for costum battles that allow, or are for these specific vehicles. Like an only Bob Sample tank costum game with friedns could be as funny as painful.
Wouldn’t flame thrower tanks also have an extra fuel tank that can act as a big weakness?
Watching this in 2024 is very funny because like half of the vehicles mentioned have been added.
The Abrams with 140MM and auto loader would be broken anywhere you put it and knowing Gaijin they would probably give it a 10.0 BR for when it’s first added and it just seal clubs Turms, 2Ks, and every other 9.7 to 9.0
The Bob Semple is the best SPAA, change my mind.
A word about the semple tank. Originally it was supposed to have a high velocity 37mm gun. But logistics problems during the war prevented that.

Hey Spookston, I was wondering if you'd ever make a video on the Begleitpanzer 57 in the style of your HSTV-L videos? Just like the HSTV-L, the begleitpanzer has been horribly modelled since the start, and was a prototype. But with so much less attention brought to inaccuracies, gaijin has been very slow to move on anything reguarding it. There's a WT forum member by the name of SugarStudd who's an absolute treasure trove of info on the subject and currently had multiple bug reports active on the forums about the Begleit.
I'd love to see your thoughts on it, and would hope a bigger personality in the community covering it might help get it finally fixed :)

I would like to clarify that while the Bob Semple tank did not have purpose-made armor plating, the corrugated material that looks so much like a corrugated iron shed is actually manganese which was thick enough to turn rifle rounds, so it would have protection against similarly armed vehicles.

seeing this in 2022 after the 10th year anniversary event, and its laughable, the Sturmtiger and flamethrowers were both added in the same update.
In defence of the bob semple, the tank was supposed to have the American 37mm, but the reason all existing photos of said tank shows machine guns is because by the time the semple was to make its debut, the cannon was not ready and it was never fitted.
