It seems like the War Thunder devs over at Gaijin really hate certain vehicles, with the rare Soviet SU-85A event TD being one of them. It only has good armament, nothing else.

I forget the name but the Chinese pt76 looking tank will take absolutely no damage or overpressure from 105mm hesh if shot from the front hull, learned from getting gaijined
@cdills3454 Yeah, hesh straight up doesn't overpressure on a direct hit, despite many hesh shells having massive tnt equivalents they only damge internals via spall, UNLESS you miss, then the game simulates it like a normal HE shell that can overpressure, so HESH is so jank that often a near miss does more damage than a direct hit

The entire games broken. I'm currently on a wt detox after looking at my last 18 games and realising I was on the losing team 16 times and the reason was a combination of 1 tank quitters, I was bombed 10 Times, I was arty'd twice and shots that should have penned/killed that didn't. The worst of witch was my is4 hitting straight through the front of a xm800 and doing nothing and then it tracking me and taking out my barrel. I only managed to deal with it after 2 boxes of 12.7mm in which it was still driving off shooting me
Pretty common knowledge that overpressure only activates for AP shells with 200g or more tnt equivalent

I'm a writer and I don't know why but Spookston videos always flip a switch in my brain that gets creative juices flowing. Keep up the good work.
Essentially, you can pay to take an SU-76M (which is based on the T-70 chassis) to a higher BR with an ok gun.
So you have a good gun, but all the downsides in survivability and mobility of the SU-76 chassis.
You can probably tell why the soviets didn't accept it into service.
My understanding is that SU-76 was used mostly as mobile artillery it just couldn't hold as much ammo (or deal with the weight)
@@cheyannei5983 They were also used for anti-tank work and even as light assault guns; the soviets apparently replaced their light tanks with the SU-76M for infantry support when they gave up on the idea of a light tank in favor of more T-34s and this, which was light enough to go places the T-34s couldn't. Also probably helped that they could just convert their T-70s into these. They had made a lot of T-70s (some 8000 of them) just to realize that they weren't really all that useful after 1942. Armored cars were better for recon, the 45mm just wasn't all that useful for fire support, and if they really needed scout tanks they both had enough already and had lend-lease options.
While the crews didn't like working with them Infantry liked them. More firepower is always appreciated, and compared to tanks they could actually communicate since it was an open vehicle.

APHE rounds only get overpressure when they have more than 170 grams of TNT equivalent.
In other words, BR-365 APHEBC is _on the cusp_ of having overpressure enabled, but it just about doesn't reach.
It's always weird to me how gaijin puts in these hard thresholds instead of something more organic

To be fair, I just made it to the Hellcat and I feel that pain of every plane and artillery being an ever present threat to my existence.
It makes sense why the puma didn’t die because you hit a 100mm plate. The driver shouldn’t have died (I did this because you made the meme)

There are two key areas of the stat card you are overlooking: fuse delay and fuse sensitivity. In this instance, the sensitivity is 14mm and the delay ONCE it penetrates that 14mm is 1.2 meters. So technically, if you shoot through something that has less than 14mm of armor, it won't detonate. If it pens 14mm of armor, the round still travels 1.2 meters before exploding. This is why some vehicles don't get overpressured by APHE. If the round goes through and through and upon exit, has hit the 14mm threshold, it will travel 1.2 meters outside of the target before it detonates.
Man the radios in that Sherman and Chaffee must be built different to eat rounds that well

Day 88 You should play a tank with hydropneumatic suspension (recommend the MBT-70) But the catch is you have to drop the suspension as low as it can go for the whole match.

Since you really like light/rat/gremlin tanks, i think you should try out the Ratel 90. It's quite literally a school bus that slings HEAT rounds.
Hey, unrelated suggestion for ya, next time you wanna do an "Anti-CAS" session try doing Japan 5.7 or there abouts. On ground you can still use a Sherman or a Chaffee (or a Bulldog if you wanna go that high) but you get access to the Japanese fighters which 1v1 are *very* good at dog fighting particularly the zeros and the Ki-43 and you can still bring one or two light bombs so you can have some small effect on the ground battle directly, I usually use what ones i spawn with and then hang around providing fighter cover until I need to RTB or no one on the other team has spawned any planes for a long while.
a pro tip: never EVER use the high pen shell on soviet 85mm guns. it has much less damage, a LOT worse angle pen and loses more pen at distance.
Its also magical, i've penetrated armor at angles i should't have

You see that enemy was using a special alloy of armor called plot armor which can withstand a metric crap ton of damage and therefore he lived as plot armor is capable of living through nukes. Plot armor is also more commonly known as bullshitum.

Attempt 43 Challenge: For high tier support a nations MBT with its respective APC/IFV counterpart (ie Abrams/Bradley, T90/BMP2M, etc.) Challenge is keeping the other player alive and supporting it without stealing kills (breaking barrels, tracking, repairing, etc) it being a random should help make it interesting.

0:27 Even at 5.7 (T-34-85) I use the BR-365 APHEBC instead of the BR365K APHE, more reliable angled penetration, and better penetration at range above 550m (both angled and flat), and the penetration at close range is indeed lower but from my experience its enough for most targets, also the higher explosive mass will allow to hit weakpoint at goofy angles and still kill most if not all the crew in a one tap which wouldn't be possible with the BR365K, and most of the targets that you cant penetrate with the BR365 you wont be able to penetrate with the BR365K anyways
