I think the weirdest part of "Sorceror's Stone" vs "Philosopher's Stone" was that is was the Alchemist's stone. A lot of people speculated that Sebastian is actually gay and his relationship with Lauren was purely publicity, so he totally did try to make the video seem like he's gonna tell the truth about the relationship & his sexuality. It's completely purposeful, I'm glad Jacob said that.
The thing about Harry Potter is JK Rowling's views bleed into the work so simply removing it from it's author is... Impossible. You cannot separate art from the artist when their work is stained with their bigoted ideas, especially since most people only pay attention to Rowling's transphobia when her racism, antisemitism, and homophobia are also present within the work. There's even more bigotry present than most people talk about.
Edit: I also want to note, I've gotten a lot of positive feedback on this statement, but I speak from a place of privilege on these issues. Many people of color, Jewish folks, and gay folks have made these statements before I have, so before you praise me, please support them for the work they do that allowed me to even know about these parts of Rowling's work.
Also the story kind of just fuckin sucks lol. She is only good at world building, she really sucks at building an actually interesting story and likable characters, which makes sense since she is an unlikable character herself.
There's absolutely more interesting stories and novels made by people who ARENT shit ass people like her, fukkin hell, lord of the rings is there, and I'm sure there's a shit ton of other works that aren't shitty like Harry Potter

Its not even just that the writing is tainted by her bigotry. She is actively using the money she gets from the rights to HP to fund anti trans lobbying and legislature that is currently causing real harm to people in the UK. Even if you pirate or financially boycott the franchise, continuing to contribute to the fandom encourages others to do the same. There are other fantasy books and movies that aren't removing access to lifesaving medical and social support for a vulnerable population. Great to ditch JK but I'm sorry potter heads, ditch HP too as long as its her source of power.

JK went out of her way to write about how trans people are hurting women. Of course, no facts, just hate. I looked up to her as a child and she inspired me to write when I was in high school. It will always bother me that someone who has the power to do so much good with her enormous platform and legacy has decided to use it to harm others. I don’t know what else she is for or against, frankly I don’t want to know. The only way she can be redeemed is if she publically takes back everything she said, writes a new book that is the opposite of the transphobic sh*t she put out, and then donates some of her millions of dollars to organizations that help trans people.
Millions of dollars she took from LGBT+ people who once looked up to her.

You know, if she was at least openly honestly bigoted, it would've been much easier to cope with this. But the fact that she pretends to support lgbt+ causes and says "she'd march with trans people if they were oppressed" just hurts me from the hypocrisy of it all. Why pretend like you're a progressive person, when you're actively supporting groups that are fighting to take away lgbt+ and even women's rights away? Crazy stuff.

I identify with the sleeping everywhere. To the point I’m tentatively diagnosed with narcolepsy and have to take adderall throughout the day to stay awake. But they can’t fully diagnose me because you know the one place I can’t sleep? Tied up in a lab for a sleep study. Go figure eh.
Maybe you just have ADHD? It's pretty common to for people with ADHD to get tired oe fall asleep when they are bored... and be very awake when they hyperfocus on something interesting or enjoyable
@@blushandberries624 If I had ADHD, then adderall wouldn’t work as a stimulant. Ideally, with ADHD adderall helps you focus and not switch trains of thought all the time (this is simplified because I’m tired lol). But i take adderall just so I feel as awake as the “typical” person does throughout the day. Otherwise I’ll fall asleep driving, during work, sitting anywhere, sometimes standing up, etc. It gives me enough energy to carry out tasks that my brain already wants to do but my body will fall asleep before I get a chance to actually even start let alone finish.
@@abigailwollam6894 Adderall can effect some people with ADHD in a similar "wakefulness" way as well! I've been diagnosed with ADHD-PI (formerly ADD), but I also become drowsy easily, so adderall slows down my thoughts enough to focus, but also keeps me awake/alert during the day.
For me, ADHD is kinda like trying to go through life while wearing a scratchy, heavy, obnoxiously loud, sentient blanket over my head and body at all times that can't be removed. You can shift it around and try to adjust it so you can function, but it's always there, weighing you down, shouting in your ear about every miniscule thing in the surrounding environment, and keeps cutting you off before you can finish a single thought.
It's exhausting and constantly drains what little energy I have available. :/
Fortunately, stimulant medications like adderall lift the "blanket" off for a little bit so I can actually get stuff done without getting sleepy or lost in thought constantly.
Since my brain seems to be running at full speed constantly even while my body is inactive, I usually have already thought through the task at hand several times (and several other random tasks) and have already exhausted most or all of my energy mentally by the time I started taking action.
I don't know how closely my experience is to others with ADHD, but I can imagine that I'm not the only one who reacts similarly to stimulant medication.
I think that I might associate being focused with feeling awake/more energetic though because I'm tired and distractable more often than not, so maybe I think the medication is more "energizing" than it actually is. I haven't slept well since adulthood and have also been dealing with severe depression for years though, so that could be adding to the constant exhaustion.
I didn't mean to write a whole essay, but I think I was trying to say that stimulants can still have a "wakefulness" effect in some people with ADHD so you might not want to rule it out completely because of your experience with adderall.
Obviously though, you know your body best and probably have other reasons why you don't believe ADHD is a potential cause!

@@abigailwollam6894 Aderall is not a drug that has the same effect on all people with ADHD or other diagnoses. And ADHD is not simply about focusing or not. A lot of women get diagnosed later in life as they do not fit the stereotype, but actually see completely different ways symptoms show up in their life. This may be completely irrelevant to your situation, I just mentioned it as many women with ADHD initially seek help for tiredness, burnout and sleep issue. Not trying to say that it is like that for you, just giving some food for thought :)

After being accused of lying by several doctors, I finally found one professional who told me she didn't know what the issue was but prescribed me Adderall as a "Band-Aid." Which is true because it's the only thing that keeps me together.

with the weekly episode thing: I think it helps keep the shows relevant. like with euphoria, after every episode everyone would be chatting about it and so that's like weeks of people talking about your show and theorising, etc. there are also like studies that show that people remember shows better when they watch it on a weekly basis so that might be helpful for keeping those discussions going.
