Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on CZcams, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on CZcams. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on CZcams, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

Van The Man blasting Caravan is always an amazing reminder of his talent, "Caravan" is a song full of gypsies, travel, and community. It's a song about the open road and music, a general celebration of freedom. Van always has a message in all his songs. You should give his Album 'IT's TOO LATE TOO STOP NOW' a song-by-song listen. It's one of the great Live Albums that captures Van at his best.,

Van Morrison is a singer who came out of Northern Ireland. “Celtic Soul” is a real thing. And Ireland, and Wales, and Britain gave birth to some amazing vocalist. (Many singers of American and Country are descendants of this part of the world) the history of England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales during the past two thousand years has become a recent hobby and passion of mine, so I’m just spreading the joy). You dig?

You have to listen to the studio version of Caravan to get why this performance is so loved. It isn't right to hear one without the other. To hear the lyrics on the studio version then to watch the performance on this is just magical.
Van Morrison suffers from stage fright, so it is an amazing performance because of that also. Some articles say he had to be pushed out on stage, or that he was drinking, regardless it is a truly memorable performance!!
One of my favorite things is at the end when The Band members look at each with a look of WOW! on their faces.

If there is a category above "musical genius" then there are not many others up there with Sir George I(van) Morrison.

Dylan's part of the show called Forever Young and The Band doing The Weight along with Mavis Staples and her gospel family incl sisters and their dad. Don't wait too long before getting to these. This part with Van Morrison is just too much fun! Thanks! :)

Glad to see you're checking out The Last Waltz. It's right up your alley. I saw it many times at the movie theater back when it was first released. The first time I went, I missed Van's performance because my date, who wasn't a music lover like me, kept pestering me to go outside and smoke some weed. When we got back in, Van was walking off the stage. I was PO'd. I went back the next day and watched it again. Took my previous date's sister that time. She was a lot more fun and appreciated the music too 😆
I'm gonna go back and check out your other Last Waltz reactions. I love the Emmylou Harris performance. Check that out if you haven't yet.

Van Morrison and his voice were an essential part of my teen years, beginning with 'Gloria' with his band 'Them' in 1964 when I was a 9th grader in HS, to his solo album, Moondance, released in Jan. 1970, when I was in the army in Vietnam. He'll always be a favorite.

The whole movie was jus' like that. Live, spontaneous, and happy as you said, yet at times melancholy and thoughtful. To those who've never seen 'The Last Waltz', you are in for a treat as the parade of personalities appear on stage and The Band members regail 'tween sets with stories of life on the road. Most artists are now gone but their songs here are immortal. You can see they were havin' fun.

I find it heartening to see younger people loving our music. I've seen Van a number of times and never has he been as animated as he is here. You can see the musicians feeding off of him, of each other, all loving the music. Robbie laughing as he sees Van's antics, and not skipping a beat; Levon, with the best seat in the house, in awe of him... Beautiful! Thank you for "reacting" to this great, once in a lifetime performance.

You now need to see the Bob Dylan songs from the last waltz. The whole documentary is great. I would suggest reacting to the whole documentary song by song. It would be well worth your time.

Van and The Band are so magical together. When you get around to it, I'd love to have you check out Jackie Wilson Said (I'm in Heaven When You Smile) and St. Dominic's Preview. Two of my favorite cuts from the St. Dominic's album. And Cleaning Windows, Van's most funky song.

He is such an extraordinary singer/songwriter/musician! He has a prolific body of work, including two more recent albums, his 43rd album in 2022, 44th-- What's it Gonna Take, in early 2023, and his 45th coming up on November 3rd Accentuate the Positive. Awesome reaction!

Morrison had LEGENDARY stage fright. Often requiring lots of alcohol for courage.
He had to be literally pushed onto this stage with The Band.

Yep. During this period, he felt extremely insecure about his physical deterioration (weight gain, hair loss, etc.) and not playing live for some time.

I think his insecurities took the cure at this concert. You could see him healing with that 'One more time' after 'One more time' extended exit. Loved it. @@fuchsiaswing8545

Love that you were moved to tears by this! It makes me feel that same way, too, every time I hear it, his soulful ode to the radio. This is probably my favorite song of Van's, (he's my favorite individual artist), and this is the end-all version of the song. The Band, (co-incidentally my favorite group), played their collective asses off at this concert, performing their own wonderful songs, as well as being the backing band for every one of the guest artists, and there were plenty. They played immaculately for 6+ hours. Arguably, the greatest concert ever.

Although this performance with The Band is fantastic, the best version of Caravan is still from "It's Too Late to Stop Now(Volume I)", with extended chamber string section passage, which makes Nick Hornby says he would like this track to be played in his funeral, though it sounds weird to hear introduction of band members like "Terry Adams on cello", "David Hayes on bass" in the middle of a funeral. 😅 And this version captures the sweet moment that the audience reacted to Van's singing "Switch on the electric light" with a big "wow"😜 that made Van chuckled.
