Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on CZcams, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on CZcams. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on CZcams, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

This gospel singing family would make a very successful transition to mainstream music,, The Staple Singers "I'll Take You There",, "Respect Yourself",, "If You're Ready" & "Uncloudy Day" 🔥❤️🔥 ALL MUST HEAR Classics..TRUTH!!
Mavis Staples is an American Treasure. God bless you Mavis!
Love the way she says “Beautiful” at the end! Most reactors start talking over that.
Amen
I got to see her show last winter!❤
I love her "Uh Huh" after "But my friend can stick around." Comes from the gut. @@cindyp1033
RIP Robbie Robertson (and Rick and Levon and Richard) Go GARTH!
Before they were The Band they were a legendary bar band backing up Ronnie Hawkins, an early Rockabilly singer, for many years learning their trade. They briefly went on their own as Levon and The Hawks until they were recommended by John Hammond Jr. to Bob Dylan who was quietly looking a band to support his entry into Rock N Roll. The rest is history. They were virtually booed off the stage everywhere they played with Dylan although the music they produced is now considered some of the best live rock performances ever. (Check out anything from 1966 with Dylan and The Band). After Dylan's motorcycle accident near Woodstock NY. Dylan took what turned out to be an eight year break from touring. He moved the group up near him, kept them on salary and they just worked on music in The Basement of their house that they named Big Pink. It was there that the styles and influences of music they taught each other culminated in the legendary Basement Tapes that were never meant to see the light of day. It leaked and the first bootleg album and cottage industry surrounding Dylan was born. Locals in Woodstock just referred to the them as Dylan and the band, Thats how their name came about and the whole Americana category of music was born.
The Staples make all the difference in the world. Love this version.
RIP Robbie Robertson ❤
Levon Helm (drummer), was also an actor. He played Loretta Lynn's father in Coal Miners Daughter.
Rick danko is one of my favourite bass players and singers his playing and singing is just so pure and present in the moment what a performer, “it makes no difference” is a heartbreaking song with danko on lead vocals
Also Stagefright❤
RIP Pops 🙏🏻💔
❤ The Staple Singers were a Gospel group who were famous for their gospel, R & B, and Blues music. "Respect Yourself, "I Take You There " and "Do It Again, " by The Staple Singers rose them to fame in the 70's. Check them out!!! FIRE 🔥
The Band! One of my top 5 favorite groups!
This song and Mavis Staples!! Two musical treasures that will never get old.
RIP Robbie Robertson ❤
One of the best live performances ever.
Their story is similar to the Eagles story where they started as backing band to Linda Rondstat
I've been watching this documentary for decades. This, AC/DC live in Paris with Bon Scott, Talking Heads, Stop Making Sense, Queen Live in Montreal 1978 and the original Woodstock Film. For me, the best live Rock concerts on Video. Of course there's also some amazing Jazz, Hip-Hop, Soul, Folk, Metal gigs on video out there as well.
One of the greatest farewell performances for one of the greatest bands. Seeing Levon Helm singing and drumming just stirs up a lot of emotions for me. And then you have Miss Mavis Staples first come in just sends chills. This is one of my top 10 songs that I feel like I need to listen to at times. There is also a very moving rendition performed by artists from all around the world led by Ringo Starr and Robbie Robertson himself not too long before his death. I believe it is under Musicians For Change.
Playing for Change I believe.
@@edprzydatek8398 Yes, that's it. Thank you.
One of the best performances ever!
Love the Last Waltz! This number is other worldly! What a fantastic combination! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
For your own pleasure, you should give a listen to the 50th anniversary recording of this song. It was released by Playing for Change-with Robbie Robertson (who wrote this song) Ringo Starr, and musicians and singers from around the world. Simply amazing. It will blow your socks off! Be sure to watch all the different countries these artists are from.
Your reactions are truthful, smart and fair. Most of all, I can see how much you love the music. Good work!
The Band and the Staple Singers are a great combination on a great song
One of the most iconic music documentaries the goodbye concert for The Band The Last Waltz .. Do yourself a solid and watch. Garth Hudson is the last surviving member at 86
Robbie Robertson wrote this. He is playing the 2 neck guitar. He was a great writer and singer.
Rest in peace, Robbie. I believe it's a guitar and a mandolin.
From The Last Waltz filmed by Martin Scorsese. ❤
Love this rendition . . . and you must check out the Playing for Change version - featuring Robbie Robertson. Absolutely fantastic!
The Band kept me going during really bad times ❤❤❤
I've loved the Band since Music From Big Pink days - the Last Waltz - so poignant to see since all the members have left us except Garth Hudson- glad we live in a time where these performances are captured. BTW - This month is the 45th anniversary of its release and it will be shown across the country TOMORROW in theaters with the needed sound system. Thank you for the reaction. ☮
This song is a fantastic song and probably my favorite from the Band. It was played a lot during my college days in the late 60s early 70s. This is one of those songs that you know right away from the first time hearing that it’s special and unique and the refrain is awesome and so inspiring. RIP Robbie Robertson, a true rock icon if there ever was one!
Incredible song,I could listen to the original all day!
You are so right. It’s wise to not only experience your favourite musical stars but to additionally dig down and listen to their influences. Jazz and classical fans and musicians take this quest of musical evolution very seriously. And keep going back to the source of creative innovations.
Love this band, love this song, love this version.
Mavis Staples is in her 80’s now and STILL performing live!!!
The Staples were great. I suggest you react to the song EVERYDAY PEOPLE
DO see Mr. Robbie Robertson re-making this song in recent years, with pals like Ringo Starr, for the (incredible!) "Playing For Change" series. You won't be sorry.
Apparently Dylan proposed or suggested marriage to Mavis staple in the early 60s but she turned him down as she felt they were both too young, she was also his opening act in the American leg of his tour in 2017 or 18.
you would really enjoy "It Makes No Difference" live from the Last Waltz.
🥰🥰🥰
If you had kept the video going just a little bit longer after the song ended, you would’ve seen the boys in an impromptu jam session doing “ That Ol’ Time Religion “.
I agree with you, this is a great song and I love it. ❤❤❤❤
HOLY GEEZ, dude. Are you trying to listen to every great song/video ever in one month!!? You have been on a hell of a roll. Get into some FRAMPTON....."Baby, I love your way".
I have loved this song as long as i can remember but this is by far the best version. Mavis,Cleotha, Yvonne and Purvis Staples.Pops had passed away. You gotta hear I'll take you there(live version)by the Staple Singers
To my knowledge this great version was not done at the Last Waltz concert, but was done in the studio afterward.
The Band is one of the great Canadian bands ever to come out of the North
Have you heard the Playing for Change version with Robbie and Ringo? It's really good.
RIP Robbie Robertson ❤
I read Mavis book "I'll Take You There" in which she told of a very brief relationship between her and Bob Dylan.
This is an iconic performance from two iconic groups. The Band has played with Bob Dylan and Van Morrison and many more. They are all passed away now, Robbie Robertson (Double necked guitar) was the last to leave us less than a year ago. Same with The Staple Singers. Mavis Staples is still alive I think, but Papa Staples and the others have passed away as well. What great music we had in the 1960s and 70s.
Garth Hudson is 86 and lives in upstate NY not far from the Big Pink
Garth Hudson, the Band's organist/accordianist who did a lot of the arranging, is actually still alive at age 86, and performed earlier this year.
❤❤❤
they have another live version with just the band and its a banger... their songs "Cripple Creek" and "Ophelia" are awesome . . . .enjoy your reactions man
Totally agree.
Heartfelt music has the magical gift to heal, transform, and inspire, and all we have to do is listen with our hearts to increase
our self-awareness, expand our understanding, and bring us together. Your channel and commentary do a great job of
helping that along. Thank You
All hail the Staples Singers. Mavis is the GOAT of Gospel. That's Pop and the three sisters. Mavis is still working it.
Such a great version of this song. I love it.
Levon Helm what a beautiful voice❤
Pop's plays base and hes good at it , Mavis and her sister will take you to church :) They brought something new to this song and even as much as i love the original i love this version so much ! . You should check out "I'll take you there" for a first dive into the Staples :)
This version is just magic wonderful love you
just because I know you'll ask: the mandolin-guitar double neck guitar is a Gibson 1235. Early '60s vintage. Good luck finding one these days. I've plucked around on one a long time ago, and it was fun enough on the action and playability, but the electronics sucked like crazy. Everything went haywire all at the same time.
My favorite version. 🎶🎶🎶🔥 peace ✌️
Dude this whole concert is fire. Hopefully you'll be going back to it now and then...then there's the Staples Singers, a gospel group. They have some great songs. I'll Take You There is killer CR. Great reaction thou.
They first backed Ronnie Hawkins, then Bob Dylan, and then became The Band and morphed into one of the most influential bands ever. And even after they released their first album, Music from Big Pink, they backed Dylan again. And Bob Dylan was in love with Mavis and wanted to marry her.
Great recording, love the reaction/response and how much you appreciate The Band. A great example of a more recent popular song than Uncloudy Day by the Staples Singers is I'll Take You There, from '72.
Lots of times you hear friends talking or articles in media ask, "name song remakes better than the original " and you always get a different performer or group doing the original song differently. Well, I nominate this version as the winner of the best remake of an already great song by the original group. I loved the original, but this version is basically musical heaven. The two groups harmonies and different vocal styles just mesh together beautifully, heavenly really. These two groups were destined to perform this song together and music is better for it. Thanks for your comments, and your smile throughout the performance was clear indication of how you felt about it. Great job and love your takes. Thanks for doing this one..
Glad you watched this version🤘❤️staple singers had a few major hits
There is a 'Playing for Change' version that i have asked to be played at my passing.
Soooo good! ❤️✌️
I was lucky enough to see The Band right after their second album came out. Incredible musicians! Further suggestions: King Harvest (Has Surely Come), Chest Fever, Jemima Surrender, The Shape I'm In and I Shall Be Released. So so incredible!
I always liked "Rocking Chair".
Oh yeah, great song too. Actually all their songs are stand outs. Such a great band!@@edprzydatek8398
Excellent choice. I remember seeing this performance at the movie theater when it came out. When the Staples came in, it gave me goosebumps because it sounded so good.
The Dr John performance from this concert film is worth a listen also.
All Canadian except Levon. You're welcome. Lol!
The Staples Singers are R&B royalty! Mavis Staples is the embodiment of Soul music. You would enjoy digging into their catalog.
As you can imagine, they are also Gospel music legends. They will definitely take you to church!
You just listened to the best version of this song and The Staple Singers especially Mavis Staples is a great singer and you’ll be able to pick out Mavis’ voice anywhere
Great reaction. And I bet you would absolutely love up on Cripple Creek if you haven't heard it already.
Check out “I’ll Take You There” by the Staples. It’s just perfection.
You should check out the staples singers "Let's Do It Again"
Great song 👍 Love it ☮️
If you'd like to hear another excellent version of this song try Aretha Franklin featuring Duane Allman.
RAG MAMA RAG..GREAT TUNE
It seems like Garth was usually hidden in the back behind his organ.
Garth is on the piano left of Danko and Richard Manuel is on the organ centre stage
Pops Staples.
Last waltz helpless, Neil Young , Joni Mitchell, and the band
Mavis is still around doing shows
Just saw her last winter!❤
IMVHO this is the definitive version of this song. Mavis and Roebuck "Pops"(RIP) Staples, Drummer Levon Helm(RIP) and Bassist Rick Danko(RIP) all take a verse. Guitarist and Songwriter Robbie Robertson(RIP), and Keyboardists Richard Manuel(RIP) and Garth Hudson provide very capable back up.. Pretty damn good, I'd say. With the movie Direction by Martin Scorsese it couldn't look and sound much better.
Dylan got The Nobel Prize in Literature (much to the chagrin of some). Nobel is pronounced no-bell.
Bands don't sound like this anymore. A perfect synthesis of blues, soul, folk, country and gospel. In the interview section of this movie, they explained that they recorded the song in the "center" of the country, where all these influences came together.
Pops voice is silk
Mavis sang on Princes albums
Suggestion- check out Mavis Staples “You Are Not Alone.” It’s special.
Rumored 1963 romance of Dylan & Mavis
Mavis still going strong at 85
You cried again. ;)
They be taken us to church. Ehhh. Aaaaa.
Bob Dylan asked Mavis Staples to marry him. She turned him down.
You didn't do the after sobg😊😊😮😮😮😮😮😮
Nobel Prize for literature. Not Peace prize. Although Dylan had some anti-war songs. Masters Of War might give you a chill 🕊️☠️
'The Weight' is very heavy. No, you didn't.
I'm a new subscriber, you are cool. and love your selections. Keep it rockin!
RIP Robbie Robertson ❤
