  • Hey friend's, the days keep ticking away for the launch of Artemis and the Space Launch System (SLS). The Countdown clock continues to wined down, and so far NASA is saying that all engineers are saying that it's still a GO for August 29th at 8:30am EST.
HOW EXCITED ARE YOU TO SEE THIS LAUNCH? ARE YOU COMING? AND FROM WHERE?
A launch like this has not happened in my lifetime! You can almost feel the excitement in the air around the Space Coast. Brevard County is expecting over 100,000 visitors, but I strongly believe that those numbers are underestimated. On Saturday the August 27th Daytona will have their Coke Zero 400 race! And that race alone brings 200,000 people to the East Coast of Florida!
If those people stay the weekend and make it over to Titusville or Cocoa Beach, God help us! hahaha!
Please, be safe, and have patience! People from all ages will be here for the same reasons you will. For the love of Space and to witness a historic launch. So be courteous to others and help out in whatever you can to make your trip a memorable one. Bring LOTS of water, ICE, and food! Area's could end up being closed off preventing you from reaching fast food places and supermarkets. BE PREPARED!!
I really can't say that enough!
I'm hoping to post another video soon about traffic expectations, to have you better prepared about evacuation zones once the launch happens. According to the Titusville Police Department, US-1 will have changes to help clear out the area. The road that leads to Kennedy Space Center is the 405. That road is prohibited 🚫 to park, or even stop to watch a launch. It's federal land, as well as Playalinda. Playlinda will be closed as well.
So I truly wish all of you a wonderful rest of the week, and I'll see you on the next video!
    Take Care!

I'm watching from Wyoming as if I'm watching at the Cape. Dreams can come true virtually.

That's awesome Renee! They're going to have 5+ 4k cameras at the launch pad to capture the lift off, so you should have the best views, and your not having to deal with the crowds. You win in my book! 😄
      Thanks for the view! 👍🏼

People should know that it is bright and loud. So your viewing location may seem far, but it will reach you when they light it up.

I appreciate that Peter! Thanks for watching! It takes so much time and A LOT of work to be a different space channel. Doing it for your views is a blessing though! GO SLS! 💪 🚀🌑

Glad I found you. We plan on coming Sept 29 from Colorado for Crew 5. I've subscribed in case you'll do discussions for that launch

That's awesome mate! Thanks for watching the video Sinim! 👍🏼 I'm thinking about going "Live" a couple of times to show viewers that are interested how big of a mess I've got myself into by going! 😆 You only live once right? Haha, But I'm sure it's a different angle than what NASA and other Livestreams will do. 🤷‍♂️ I've never gone "live" before but if your interested, 👊 that suscribe word mate! 🤓
GO ARTEMIS! GO SLS!! 💪 🤞🤞

Maybe Jim Lovell can be one who lands on the Moon, since he missed the last time he was there. Better late than never

      That would be amazing Ken!
I think Buzz could be in better health. Eventhough they're both pretty old. I'd vote for Lovell in a second!
Thanks for the comment and the view! 👍🏼 Sorry for the delayed response. 🙂

Hi Gus. I have tickets for the KSC visitor center. I’m staying on Merritt Island about 1 1/2 miles south of the causeway. What time do you think I should leave to get to the Center? It’s only about 10 miles, but I’m assuming traffic will be crazy. Thanks!

    • @yourspacetv1
      @yourspacetv1  Před rokem +1

Hey!! That is awesome! 🙌 Congratulations on getting tickets!
Yes traffic is going to be hectic! But if SLS launches, it will be SO worth it! 🤓 When it comes to launches at KSC I've been too, I've showed up 2 hours before gates open normally. But that's me. I try to beat traffic. I also pack for that duration. Gates open at 3:30am. I'm sure KSC could reach capacity once parking lots are full. I'm assuming there will be more people than expected. I wish you luck my friend! 😊 GO SLS!! 💪

If they would have used Elon Musk's reusable heavy lifter the expenses would be a lot lower and it is more reliable. The SLS is new but there is no real innovation. It seems like the real brain is still Werner van Brown (a NAZI) that developed the engines for the space shuttle 50 years ago... 50 years in space science is very old. We use it once and it gets destroyed... and it is not even close as efficient as the turbo engines version built by Russia, because it bleeds un-burnt fuel!
It is good that we go to the moon, but it has to be done with a fiscal budget that is sustainable in the future.
Cost will kill this project; it cost about as much as an election; tough choice democracy or the moon!

      Tottaly agree Alex! 👍🏼
Thanks for the comment and the view. Let's see if this government rocket will even launch. 😬
