I love seeing the other magazines not just the SI. It shows the hobby is growing outside of just sports
Well done. Sales numbers are still strong.
Interesting story behind that Jim Brown issue. The artist that did that issue did 9 total (if I remember correctly). The one's I can remember are Koufax, Unitas, and Floyd Patterson. All us old guys remember Leroy Neiman sports art back in the day and that's what those covers all remind me of. I may have sold that 9.8 Koufax back in the day that went for big bucks recently. It was so nice I almost kept it even though not a fan and was gonna put that subset together. Wish I would've now! I've got every Nicklaus newstand!
great video as usual thanks brad
Brad, I've got the 1936 LIFE cover of Joe DiMaggio (his face takes up the whole cover) and the 1941 LIFE cover with Ted Williams. You'd really like those issues!
Subbbbbbbbbbs are coming back and it’s not stopping
Brad, can you help an old collector out here please. I've been binge watching your's and Jim's vids and haven't gone to CGC's site yet to try and figure it out. So for the #7 Trout issue, it says "POP 7, none higher". Can you explain that please. EDIT: I think I get it. Is it that there's 7 at that particular grade and no current higher grade than that? Thanks
Yup, that is exactly correct.
Brad - love the videos - can you see if the person actually paid the $1800 for Roger Clemens. I remember the auction and the guy def made a mistake adding a zero
It had 10 bids from 6 different bidders. Definitely a legit sale. It also initially caught my eye as being high, but then I realized it was a pop 1 with none higher.
