Josh Allen looked like a star against the 27th ranked defense. Patrick Mahomes was a star against the number 1 ranked defense. The QBs Mahomes has looked less than against are Burrow, Brady, and Tannehill.

I wouldnt put Burrow on that list. Mahomes was setup for failure when his idiot OC spent the 2nd half of the game calling nothing but pass plays. 2nd half Bieniemy called only 5 running plays (while averaging 5.6YPC), and 47% of the passing plays in 2nd half Mahomes was asked to find an open receiver with the Bengals dropping 8 into coverage. Im not a Mahomes apologist, but the coaching staff suffered an absolute mental collapse and set him up for failure against Burrow's Bengals.

Mahomes did not have a worse game in terms of counting numbers, he had more yards passing, one more yard rushing, and both had 4 toucdowns. And it was all against the top ranked defense.

They played Taylor Heinecke, Jalen Hurts, Daniel Jones, Jordan Love, Teddy B 2x, Baker Mayfield, and a shell of the Big Ben we grew up watching. Chiefs played comp just as bad and still gave up historically bad #’s for 1/2 the season

Na. If you wanna lean on stats then you should know the Only reason Mahomes had better stats is because he had the ball more So the fact that Allen’s numbers weren’t far from Mahomes only 35 yards difference both had 4 TDS shows How better Allen was that game. Both played lights out tho.
As for the Cheifs defense the fact that they took away most of Allen’s weapons which lead to Allen only finding Davis says a lot. Also Bills defense was very overrated last year really because when they played the worst offenses they stoped em dead bumping up their stats.

Acho is right. Every year it’s someone different (Lamar, Herbert, Allen), but the bar has been the same the last 4 years: Mahomes. Mahomes is still in a class by himself as far as young QBs. We’ll see if that changes with Tyreek gone and Kelce starting to get up there a bit in age and the Chiefs still not having a great run game to lean on. But if Allen surpasses Mahomes in 2022, it’ll only be because of attrition.
Ya That’s a contradictory statement there. If Mahomes needs the best around him to be good then he isn’t as great as everyone says now is he. So if Allen passes him this year that just answers everyones other question of who had the bigger impact on the other Hill or Mahomes.

Since Mahomes has been in the league there have been three or four games that have been considered among the greatest games ever, and every last one of those games has featured Mahomes and the Chiefs!.. Whether its Chiefs v Rams, Chiefs v Bills or Chiefs v Patriots, or Chiefs v whomever... Every one of those games was a shootout, why? Because of the Chiefs atrocious defense! In every one of those games the opposing teams QB had a field day against the Chiefs defense, every. single. one. even guys like the Rams Jared Goff... After the games everyone says that guy (insert QB) is as good as or better than Mahomes! Nevermind that in those games the opposing team has always had a top ranked defense, every. single. one! Mahomes has had a herculean efforts in all those classic games and even in defeat has clearly been the better player. The Bills game was no different.

I would agree up until you said that Mahomes was the better player in that Bills game. Mahomes played great but there was clearly a difference in how both QBs played. Josh Allen was 100% the reason the Bills kept scoring and keeping the game so close. For the Chiefs it was more spread out between Mahomes, Hill and Kelce who you can credit the win. Hill had that 64 yard run that was all him after the short pass by Mahomes or Kelce who seem to always be open.

I love Josh Allen and he is a BEAST. But, I'm gonna need him to have more than just 2 seasons of completing more than 60 % of his passes before I elevate him above Mahomes, Rodgers, and Brady who have all done that for the majority of their careers. I'm also gonna need him to win a reg. season MVP, SB championship, and SB MVP which those other 3 have also already accomplished.

Stats don’t show but Mahomes was great in the Super Bowl against the Bucs. How many scramble throws, off balance and hit the wr in the face to be dropped. He had a short stop diving throw to that hit the face mask of the rb at the goal line that was incomplete
Edit: Notice that Acho didn’t use any of Mahomes stats. Like fastest qb to x td’s or x yards. Or only qb to do 5,000 yards and 50 td’s in the same year.

I’m a chiefs fan but I absolutely love Allen. One of the most entertaining Quarterbacks to watch. That being said I have to disagree with the idea that Allen is better than Mahomes just due to the fact #15 has a title. I’m not against someone being rated higher than Mahomes, but I just don’t think Allen is there yet. It will be exciting if/when that happens though, I love todays league
Titles don’t make you the best. MVP makes more sense, but not titles. Plenty of mediocre qbs have won titles that are nowhere in this conversation. Flaco, Dilfer, etc

With all due respect...Statistically both Defenses were playing exactly the same at the end of the year for the last 6 games. Bills didn't have there best Defender in the chiefs game (White) at that point and had one of the slowest secondaries to match up with the fastest Wr core. In 2020, after beating the Bills, the Chiefs' O-Line was decimated. They didn't lose that game because of Mahomes. Like Wiley said, it is a team sport. Mahomes was amazing in that game, running for over 400 yards, behind the line of scrimmage, to keep plays alive. And he bounced two (dropped) passes off the helmets of his receivers (one was Tyreek Hill). The only game Mahomes played poorly was the last play of the first half and the second half of the game against the Bengals. Mahomes has out-dulled Josh Allen and he has achieved more success, so far. This year, let's see if Josh Allen and the Bills can step up and overtake Mahomes and the Chiefs.

In the last four years, Mahomes has Josh Allen beat on QB passing stats, as well as achievements and contributions in advancing further in the playoffs with the Chiefs than Allen has with the Bills. Well no obviously not, but I do believe Josh definitely showed why he’s a top 3 QB, even in a down year he had one of the best playing post seasons for a QB, and it was unfortunate that he couldn’t touch the ball last in the overtime. But I think he’s proven that he is maybe the best OVERALL QB in the league, because while Lamar runs better and Mahomes throws better, Josh can bulldoze defenders or out speed them, and he can throw with the best of them. So honestly I’m just glad he’s being recognized for what he did instead of flying under the radar again.

I feel like this is the season that determines if Mahomes is comfortably top 3 qb in the league. Now that he doesn't have Hill who pads Mahomes passing yards per game with his yac average if mahomes produces as well as any other season haters lose any credibility in criticizing him.

Mahomes was drafted by perennial playoff team. Allen was drafted by a team that just made the playoffs for the first time in 17 years. Mahomes had a great offense line, HOF weapons and a HOF coach *before* he even played a snap. Allen was drafted by the team that employed Nathan Peterman for an entire year and still employed him even when he was on the team. So I don’t wanna hear about team success with Mahomes he was drafting in a perfect situation while Josh Allen was drafting in literally what could be considered the worst situation for a quarterback to ever be drafted in (besides the jets)

Legendary two minutes, Josh comes down the field scores Patrick throws a slant to Tyreek Hill, *HILL* takes it 75 yards. Josh comes down all the way down the field, multiple run plays that he runs multiple third downs he scores. 13 seconds left Patrick Mahomes with three timeouts throws down the middle to wide open players that 29 out of 32 quarterbacks would make. He gets praised for making basically two checkdowns. Then are we going to talk about how he literally choked the entire game away in the AFC championship game. He had a 20 point lead if he’s the best quarterback how did he lose that game?
How many super bowls did that perennial playoff team win before mahomes got there? How many championships has 'the great' Andy Reid won before mahomes got there? Did kelce or tyreek Hill win anything before mahomes got there? Why didn't Reid, Hill, and kelce take Alex smith to the Superbowl? They're supposed to be so great, right? Surely they didn't need Mahomes to win a SB! I mean kelce and Hill are both all pros! Reid is one the greatest coach of all time! Josh Allen just started coming to the elite party when he got Diggs, and he still haven’t beat mahomes in the playoffs.
