  • The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills 42-36 in an overtime classic. Both teams put a combined 25 points during the last two minutes of regulation until Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs on a 75-yard drive on the their first possession of overtime to secure the victory. Bills quarterback Josh Allen was not to be out done, matching Mahomes' four touchdown total. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe discuss the instant classic between the Bills and Chiefs.

You can't "just fall on the ball" bc the you have to make a play and then fall down. If you just fall down, the play is still live until someone from the other team touches you.
So to grab the ball, make a move, fall to the ground and the ref to whistle the play down, that is easily 3 seconds. 1 bad hop, 1 defender by the receiver, that play could be 5 seconds.
Then KC has 1-2 plays and not 3+
Besides all that, why is unsportsmanlike conduct call ALL playoffs but the ref that picks up Mahomes when he fell down os the same ref to not call Hill for giving the peace sign before going into the endzone?
Either call it every time or never. Not just when it's convenient for you. These refs have way too much control in the outcome of every game and NOT held to a standard. We need better rules for refs

It's called giving yourself up, no time runs off. And you really wanted a flag thrown on Tyreek Hill there? You're that big of a bummer? You're that much of a loser that you wanted that play called back because he threw a peace sign? You're that lame? Didn't know people like you existed to be honest

On behalf of football fans, I believe we just witnessed the best weekend of football in decades. Maybe ever. It'll probably be better than any Super Bowl game ever played. Every victory by a field goal except the Kansas City Chief's miraculous come-from-behind TD by Tyreek Hill. Wow! What a game. I know you were pulling for Buffalo. But, sorry. QB Josh Allen is going to be another superstar. He triggered surgically targeted passes all night.

Yep. I prefer Mahomes' absurd arm angles/off platform ability, but Josh Allen's 6'5, 5000 pound frame that can move like a horse, with that absolutely nuclear arm is every bit as enticing. Maybe Allen could surpass Mahomes. I think he's got more to offer physically (slightly). Although on the other hand, Mahomes' ability to make any throw from any position, and perhaps more importantly, his insane vision/reaction time, might put him over the top in this game of elite pass rushers. These two are going to be first ballot Hall of Famers no question, and the NFL will be chasing their archetype for the next 40 years.

Chiefs already petitioned the NFL to change the overtime rule back in 2018. This is very similar to the situation in the AFC title game in 2018 with the Chiefs and the Patriots. After a knock-down-drag-out exciting shoot out of a game the Patriots won the coin flip and drove down the field and ended the game in overtime with the walk-off touchdown, and Mahomes never got to touch the ball. That offseason the Chiefs petition the NFL to change the overtime rules. Every other team, all 31, INCLUDING the Buffalo Bills left KC out to dry and decides they liked overtime rules the way they were. A coin flip is 50/50, the Chiefs lost the coin flip back in that game and this time they won the coin flip so I have to feel some amount of poetic justice in that regard. That little bit of vindication out the way, I don't think there's a single person in this offseason who would be against changing NFL overtime rules it just isn't satisfying to see one of the two best quarterbacks in the league sitting on the bench I never get to touch the ball. The fact that we even got this game with the two best quarterbacks in the league and it lived up to and exceeded expectations in terms of excitement it's pretty special

Butker in his career from 50+ 20/28 in regular season so he also misses 3/10 he takes. Tucker only 2/4 on 50+ in playoffs as more pressure and a lot of times in cold weather!

“He played well enough to deserve to win the game.” “He played a little better.” Yes, Allen played a phenomenal game of ball. He kept his team going and led them to take multiple leads during regulation that could have won the game. But I just don’t understand how everyone is saying Allen played better win Mahomes kept up? Bills score with 1:54 left. Chiefs score with 1:02 left. Then the Bills drive and score in 49 seconds, showing he is the real deal and is going to win this for his team. But Mahomes gets 13 seconds. 13 seconds to do everything he can to keep his team alive and he does. If this was Tom Brady, Skip and all the other sports talk show hosts would be praising the impossible efforts of Brady keeping his team alive. Instead Mahomes is somehow being told he was still not as good as Allen. Ridiculous. Not even speaking on the OT part of this game, Allen played probably his best game to date, however his defense did not. So he doesn’t deserve to win cause he played well, you deserve to win when your offense and defense are able to both put up points for yourself and stop the opposition from getting more than you and Allen did his part. Still doesn’t mean he is better than Pat.
