- Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs got the 23-20 win over the Joe Burrow led Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game to advance to Super Bowl LVII. Mahomes finished with 326 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win. The Chiefs QB also got his team into game-winning field goal range on a scramble that drew an unnecessary roughness penalty from Bengals DL Joesph Ossai. About the punt and tip, I agree. He didn't have a bad game at all. But in the context, the Chiefs were scheduled to lose and Mahomes couldn't have played a better game against a team that iced them 3 times. So the statistical 'ints' just seem very ignored, because we all like Burrow
Only one of those two INTs was a bad throw/decision though, that's why. The other was an absolute dot on 3rd down the DB made a spectacular play on to tip it and bad luck it pops right into the hands of the other Chiefs player. Deep ball shot like that on 3rd down isn't bad, it's just like a punt except you're giving yourself a chance for a big gain. I like that aggressive call there. 41 throws under incredible pressure all game and only one bad INT, is not bad.

Biggest one was the pass rush of that dominant defense against an extremely banged up o-line forcing mahomes out of the pocket in less than 2 seconds literally every single play, forcing him to make quicker reads. There were tons of dropped passes. The Chiefs as a whole just weren’t the better team that day. Not to mention it being a home game in a Super Bowl.

Loves Brady. Terrified that Mahomes will far surpass his boy. Somehow thinks that denial will sway others. Unfortunately, there are a surprising number of Mahomes-haters out there, guessing other folks who feel threatened by a fairly unassuming black kid from TX who can make magic happen like no one else can. The rest of the league has now had 5 years to emulate him and, while the new gen QBs are playing better (thx to Mahomes), you can't copy and innate talent, especially one combined w/a coach who is constantly thinking outside the box. what makes mahomes 5 afc title apperances even more impressive is that hes done it in a really tough QB conference. during that time afc has featured allen, burrow, lamar, herbert, watson. not to mention tail end of roethlisberger and brady's last couple new england years. Mahomes has had a top seed often so hes had to win more games than those guys during regular season and in many cases, beat those guys head to head.

He converted on 3rd and 16 and 4th and 6. Mahomes fumbled randomly and almost choked the game. One of the picks by burrow was effectively a 60 yard punt on 3rd down and that ball was perfectly thrown but cook made an amazing defensive play.
@@qtip3998 Mahomes outperformed Burrow in every measurable category despite the fumble and being down 3 of his main receivers against a mostly healthy top flight D that stifled the Bills. Burrow had a hurt o-line but still had two of his best receivers all game and two great backs if he needed them against a chiefs D that started multiple rookies, especially in the secondary. If the fumble counts against Mahomes, both INTs definitely count against Burrow- he didn’t have to throw into double coverage. Burrow is great and getting outplayed by 3X AFC champion and Super Bowl champion Mahomes doesn’t take anything away from him. Nobody is perfect lol. Give Patrick the respect he deserves

You still have to give credit to Burrow. Got drafted in 2020. Made it to the superbowl last year. And the AFC championship game this year. Thats pretty impressive for such a young player so new in the league. And Mahomes is just another one of those super talented freak of nature qbs that come around every once in awhile. That was a really good game, yes there were some terrible officiating calls by the zebras. It just is what it is, thats how it always has been with any sport.

I have been a big NBA fan for years, which is why I originally watched UNDISPUTED. Skip and Shannon have now officially made me a football fan. This is the first season that I am following from beginning to end and I have to simply say: The NFL Playoffs are amazing!

Please Kelce and Maholmes just passed Montana/Rice in TD combos. All he NEEDS is Kelce. He’s a coverage SPONGE 🧽 🧲. Any time they leave him open even slightly the defenses get BURNED. He makes the entire offense better and he’s in the center field so it opens up outsides. A good WR just draws coverage to their side but a TE is a young QBS best friend for a reason. It opens up the outsides.

As a Bengals fan, the game was fun and intense. I wish our offensive line was able to protect burrow a little bit more, but overall still a good game. Super bowl is going to be interesting this year

You could also say that brees had the ball first in ot and threw an int. The calls were horrible throughout the game and fourth and all benefited the chiefs. It was collectively one of the most lopsided officiated games in playoffs ever but it's to be expected with kc and mahomes

Mahomes rating in the pocket is among a pack of top QB's but his rating out of the pocket he stands at the top alone. He was playing without his super-power yesterday, and he still looked like the best QB in the league. He levelled up folks.
No mahomes only won because he played like a real QB and in the pocket. For every amazing play on the run he made against the bengals last 3 times he took 3x the boneheaded sack+loss of yards spinning in circles. Mahomes was forced to play in pocket on time. Lou anarumos defense was made for scrambling QBs. He forces QBs to leave the pocket but maintains outside leverage once you do. That way if you scramble you either have to get hit running straight up center wearing your body out or forces you to run to the sideline wasting a play. It’s the perfect scheme for a scrambler. They never attempt to get behind you because they know you’ll run up into the middle. Mahomes leveled up because he learned that he needs to play within pocket/structure and he did. He went into bengals 0-3 averaging like 200yds 1 int 100 pass rate playing in the pocket he hit 320yds no INTs and 105 rate. Lou anarumo had no answer if mahomes had all his receivers all game it would’ve been 400yds easily. Pat truly is special and I hope he plays like this more!!
