I do love this era of cars, the hatchbacks just looked so nice back then
as an american who loves hot hatches, you've put me on to a very special citroen in a clean color, and what a satisfying story hope the owner enjoys it well
It’s so easy now to get roped into the numbers game with who has the most HP or the fastest 0-60, But every time I drive my ZR I remember why I love the raw driving experience you get from these 90s/00s hot hatches.
No driving aids no turbos just a revvy N/A engine with a manual gearbox and all the induction noise you could ever need 😂
Ah the classic estate car from the 90s....not for carrying wardrobes though, for blitzing round housing estates at 2am 😛😛
Nice video Jamie cheers for letting it happen 😅🤟
Nice video Jamie. I agree with something that you say quite frequently on the channel. The french for all there faults do know how to put a bloody good hot hatchback together. Over the years they have spoilt us. Owned many french hot hatches over the years, they just have something about them and the saxo vtr I had I had a fantastic time owning. Shame that they have nearly completely disappeared now.
I had one as a first car vtr same two tone absolutely loved it still remember the reg too y668 goo, great video
What a review man, nostalgic 👌🏼
got one very similar i paid 250 pounds for a few years ago, I've put a cheeky little turbo on her just for fun😉... love it
Brilliant vid again mate the nearest I got to a saxo when i was 21 was a citroen xantia passed down to me from my dad it was ok and back then when I was skint it was a set of wheels to see my mates and girl in the old halfords carpark lol
I'll be driving a fully forged VTS on bike carbs for 2023😎👌
I'm 21 had one as a first car and now got 4 on the driveway,
A vts 2 tone
A mk1 vtr
My first car A furio
And Mrs has a 32k mile furio
I truly can't just let them die 🤣🤣🤣
Loving the fly tipping in the background 😂
I own 2 Saxo vtr.
A 98 series 1 I’ve just got back on the road, it’s completely stock and never been messed with, and I also recently bought a 2001 two tone , with 32000miles, 1 owner, that’s immaculate
Yessss proper little car!
Always loved a french hot hatch and ended up buying a Saxo vtr 03plate for my first car yes the insurance is silly and it’s not the smartest first car but love the dam thing part of the family
Didn't citreon dealers do a year's free insurance when these saxons were first launched?
Love to see the 2-tone
Someone's put the wrong springs on the front they don't sit that high stock 🤣
My mum replaced her 1.3 KA with a Saxo VTR recently. It's mint and hasn't been modified. I'm insured on it aswell 😂😛
A very rare sight now can only go up in value a good save .
loved my old vtr cracking little handling car quite nippy to😀👍👍
Loved my old vtr little pocket rockets
Overshadowed by the gti and vts.
Shame it has thr long ratio box too
Saxo power
Cracking cars had one in metallic red miss that car so much got one for the wife as a first car paid £450 for it still got it now was only supposed to last a year it’s looking sad tho off the road waiting for me to have time to fully build it and get it back out harassing a McDonalds car park near you 🤣
jamie what happened to the black saxo you had and stripped it out with josh and was gonna use as a fyd track car
Add it to the list of failed projects
Tomorrow I will buy a saxo vtr for 450 Euro. In bad condition, oil leaks, bad suspension, but with racing camshaft, short gearbox, lower and some other nice things. Next project 😂😂😂
Waffle King 🤴
Find it hard to believe you bought it for £100
It's true a friend of a friend spun it out n put it through a wall so I brought it for £100 new slam panel wing bumper etc owes me about £600 all in now n that's with all the little mods I've done too ✌️
Now the chavs are starting to grow up, these will become the next RS Turbo.
Back in the day, we were all cutting about in fast Fords or vauxhalls. These came out and came with 12 months of free insurance, so the new kid's started buying them on mass and on finance, which at the time was a new thing to us. This was the height of the Max Power era, but that was never really my thing.
