I lived in Morocco for a couple of years and the wood is from the olive tree. It’s the most common form of wood used there for furniture. However they do also use almond, thuya, ash and boxwood as well as importing lots of ebony and rosewood. I love olive wood as the grain is always so beautiful. You did an excellent job on this table. It looks absolutely wonderful.

Brass polishes have been around since the beginning of the early 20th century. I have used salt and water, pumice and water, even a light coat of rubbing compound. They need a weekly whipe down or nowadays a clear coat finnish. Clear laquer was used before clear coat but you had to be careful cleaning it after. Most of the time it got a bad rap, because the brass wasn't prepped well at first and then harsh cleaning chemicals left bare patches in the laquer which required stripping the whole surface and people didn't want to ordidn't realize it needed to be stripped. Believe me I would gladly polish a table top over well used brass cuspidors.

Great craftsmanship, both with the project and with the videography.

I totally agree about the Production aspects. He’s much more comfortable in front of the camera and with video production, so having him talk in real time rather than dubbing later is a much better idea.
I also really like the new intro…it’s a step closer to having his account feel like a show/channel rather than a bunch of individual videos. A longer version - like 30 seconds - (imho) would be really great idea.

This is much better, though (not to mention bigger), si I'm now a convert from Indian tables to Moroccan ones😂. The table base is beautiful, and the brass top came out so nicely thanks to all your hard work and perseverance.

I would love that table so much! I went to Morocco every three months for nine years when I lived in Spain... I never did get one of those, but still wish I had one now. I have four tables with brass tops but mine are all Asian, two are Antique. I clean mine with fresh lemon juice. I just cut the lemon in half and rib the flat cut lemon onto the brass. Once in a while I use Brasso, and if I get a bad stain I may use some finest steel wool. All Summer my brass table tops are outside on my deck with a thick clear glass over them so they stay untarnished and protected.

Good job. 👍👍The only thing you always want to do with brass is a sealant. Wax sealer for brass polishes also or a laquer after. Don’t try the sealant especially made for brass on big surfaces like that. It will get really streaky. Without any of those this will turn dark pretty quickly. Cute table

So beautiful. Lovely to see the repair work to the leg. Like so many others I have kept company with a similar table - back in my medieval middle eastern reenacting days. I hope my ex still has the table somewhere…😏😊

What fine craftsmanship on display. The elegance of this piece is amazing, matched only by your highly skilled restoration of it. A small shop saving and preserving the work of another; that’s no production piece. All the work was well worth it, it’s just beautiful. Now all you need is a brass Moroccan coffee service to go with it.

I have one just like that, it measures 40 inches across, (103 cm), and is a bit more ornate with the metal etchings. When we were living in Tripoli, Libya 62 years ago my parents had one custom made, and we had the exact same folding base for it. Unfortunately, over time, the base got lost in a move so I turned it into a wall hanging. Using 3 large L-bolts to hold it up. I'm saving this video to send around, and hopefully, I can find those brass footing covers and have another base made for it.
