The 3d printing is amazing!
As a retired nurse, I appreciated your reference to the Bristol scale was quite appropriate 😊. This piece turned out very well considering what you started with. Love seeing the wood grain pattern in the top.
😻
Ha! I am a retired nurse as well. But I left before the scale was in use. So…my thoughts went to the more descriptive side. If you know what I mean 😁
@lindabern2648 💩
Oh my goodness!! That poor little chest of drawers needed a LOT of love! When you applied the oil, I could almost hear the wood absorbing it. The end result was fantastic!! You gave that sad little chest of drawers an elegant restoration! Well done, sir!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
I am so agree!
@@Flippingdrawers Sir!!! Very upset with you. You hurt me everytime you're hard on yourself. Can't you see all the beauty etc you're making from your brilliancy?!?! I am always in awe how you touch the projects and they turn into perfection. Please be easy on yourself. We have one life to enjoy. Try to do it more at ease. Never forget tomorrow isn't promised. I lost my husband 7-2-23. Life is too short. God bless. Love your work so much.
Love always
Me
He does wonders to all of his projects. I'm always in awe.
Not my favourite restoration but i take my hat off to you for your work. Personal taste differences, that's all. ❤
That was a long road, but you got there in the end. Thank you for sharing this and for the giggles!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Lovely! And thank you for putting the screw head grooves horizontal 😊
You’re welcome 😉
The lovely thing about rustic is you don't have to have things perfect. As long as it is solid and level, the finish can embrace imperfections and even some gouging and dents you might otherwise want to fill or even replace pieces of wood.
Agreed.
Amazing transformation. Only thing I’m not sure about is the legs but that is very personal. Absolutely love the 3D design. ❤
Thank you so much!
I love that you restore things of age saving them from landfill (which is already overpopulated) but the beauty of your pieces. ❤️👏❤️
Thanks 💛
Wow! What a transformation!
I wonder if it had been a changing table for a baby in it's former life. ❤
In which case, the 💩stage was very appropriate!
Beautiful end result!! Poor chest needed your rescue touch. I love pieces like this that have their own personality and you give them a new life.
Thank you 😊
You took that chest of drawers from life support and breathed new life into it. Bravo.
What a task to transform this piece! Nice.
Wow!! You went in a direction that I was not expecting! No one would ever believe that was the same chest of drawers if they have not watched this video. Amazing, amazing work!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The 3D artwork is amazing. I feel for you sometimes because I think some of the pieces you tackle aren't worthy of the amount of effort you put into them. However, you seem to really like the challenge, and there's always the potential to learn a new skill or technique. Plus, you always end up resurrecting these pieces and giving them a new life.
Thanks 😊
Well said. And I second that 👍🏼
Jay I’m running out of ways to say Wow! The legs ..perfect. The new handles..perfect. The scorching of the wood .. genius! Sometimes I wonder if you over think it but it never disappoints lol. You have unbelievable talent sir and I’m soooo appreciative that you share it all. I know you MUST love sanding bc you do a lot 🥴😂 love the dog squirrel comparison between you and the cats. Another beautiful work of art ❤️🇺🇸
@@jodidavis6595 that’s super kind. Thank you 🙏
Wow! The previous owners would not recognize it! You art piece is lovely!
Thank you 🙏
I love the wood burning technique and this little guy turned out so cool. I also love the merch design and the laser art! That laser cutter is really rad.
Thanks a bunch!
Anyone who welcomes the neighborhood felines for break times is okay in my book ❤
WoW. A ton of work, but an absolute masterpiece. Well done. Your work never disappoints 🙏❣️
Thank you! Cheers!
I recently watched some of your earlier videos and then I just watched your newest one today and I can see how far you've come in your skills. You do some amazing work and it's a pleasure to watch you develop and grow. Thank you for the great videos.
Thank you so much!!
Definitely eclectic. For me, I’d paint the legs darker. What a journey. I keep picturing Al Pacino and a flame thrower!
Lol thank you 😊
First off, I love your Samurai statue. Secondly that was a beautiful makeover of a dresser that was in such a sad state. I never would’ve even thought about doing shou sugi ban on the dresser but it really sets the piece off.
Thank you so much!
The way you turn a piece of trash into treasure is always amazing to watch! Your 3D art looks great too!
Oh my goodness! This is not what I was expecting you to do with this monstrosity. It looks great now! I agree with you on the color of the first stain! I did a howl laugh at that! 😂 The cats hear you outside & they come running. 😻 So cute. I like your cat tee shirt too.
Thank you 😊 glad you had a giggle 🤭
Another beautiful transformation. I love the way you can see the hidden beauty in these pieces and have the skill to bring them back to life.
I love the new life with dignity that you gave to the poor pink chest of drawers. The 3 D art piece is amazing!!
This one was a lot of work and you have great patients. I love how this turned out it has rustic charm and so much character, those legs are so cute they make the piece look as though it could run off down the hallway at any minute.
You always do a great job of repairing and finishing. Such as cutting the thin strips to cover up defects. That is how I do all of my edge banding. I make my own and never buy the factory edging.
Thanks 😊
That really turned out great! Has a real retro feel. Well done!❤️
Thank you! 😊
What a beautiful save. Someone will love her for years to come.
This turned out so well from a mess. I truly enjoy watching your transformations, Jayy
Thanks so much! 😊
The artwork is lovely - adds texture and interest to the photo without distracting from the piece you’re staging.
I love what you ended up doing with the dresser - those label holders give it an apothecary cabinet vibe that’s really charming!
Glad you like it. Thanks 😊
This piece is phenomenal. Loved how it turned out. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Cheers!
Amazing transformation! It turned out beautifully. Those name-tag thingies that you covered the keyholes with really dress it up nicely. And your laser-art flower really turned out nice too!
Thanks so much! 😊
Thank you 😊
Love this piece and the contrast with the drawers. I enjoy your trials with color and finish and that you show us the whole process of the design evolving as it happens. You are an artist.
Thank you so much!💛
I love the color contrast. You did very well picking it! I was hoping you were going to use that beautiful laser design you made on it and wanted to see where you were going to place it. I hope you use it soon on another project! I think you are so talented and creative - your thought processes are that of an artist/designer, not a typical woodcraftsman's. 🐱
Thanks 😊
I love the way you treat the inside of the dresser. Sometimes it's the little things that make it awesome.
Decisions, decisions. It turned out beautifully. Far better than I had expected.
I can say the same 😂
Such an elegant piece ❤ I love your work, you have an incredible skills and imagination to give to every one of your pieces a different look and personality! Please don't stop making this videos ever 😁 Thank you, have a great day!
Thank you so much!
Jay, I feel your frustration over this project and piece. As always, it turned out amazing. I was worried you were planning to burn it up when the torch came out 😮😅. I absolutely love the 3D piece you created. By the way, I believe this is the first time I’ve seen you use the air sanders. They work amazingly well. Also, Hugo was adorable in this video. Clearly he loves his cuddle time with you.
I think you do a fantastic job and what I like best is you admit you hate something and you redo it. I think that happens more with other people who restore things than they want to admit. You want to get it just right which says a lot about the quality of your work. I also really like your voiceovers. Thank you.
I can hear the wood weaping from embarrassment! Thank you for restoring her dignity. It is quite lovely 🌹😻
I really, really like that one! It may be the biggest transformation you’ve done. It would look good in an office. And thank you for showing all the ups and downs and change of plans. It helps us not feel crazy when we do that🤗❤️🐝 oh! I love the wooden flower you made. I could look at that for hours tracing the lines. I know…. I’m strange lol🤗
Ha ha thanks for watching 💛💛
@@Flippingdrawers You’re welcome🤗❤️🐝
Yes that makes sense. I love how you put pieces of broken wood back together with actual wood. So refreshing. Beautiful work on this piece. You have a gift!
The blackening and the white is so modern! That is just what it needed👍🏼👍🏼
Reminds me of a circus tent. Great job , as usual.
Love all the neighborhood cats, they obviously love you !
Circus tent? How come?
You did it again you took a piece that most people wouldn't touch and make it usable again !!!
Love From OKLAHOMA
Thank you 😊
You always go above and beyond. Your love of what you do shows in your attention to detail.
So happy the see the big H come for cuddles❤
Very impressive transition.
Seeing the condition of the wood, and just the overall original build quality - I didn't think it was worth saving. But what you did with it and the end result, is absolute magic! Amazing work!
“And I hated it.” You are so honest and entertaining at the same time. I could not guess where you would end up with this piece but you did good.
Nothing would be possible without Cat's consultancy and supervision!
I admire your tenacity. You did not give up until you found the colour that pleased you. Congrats on your work!
You always do a fantastic job. I swear you have catnip in your pockets, the way the neighbours cats come to see you. Its so lovely to watch, being a crazy cat lady myself. xxx
It turned out fantastic!! Anyone else would have repaired it and slapped a couple of coats of chalk paint on it, I love that you struggled until you found a way to get a look you were happy with!!! It is now a custom, luxury piece.
Beautiful change!
You never give up! If the first idea doesn’t turn out as expected, you try again. You continue working through each challenge until your happy with the end result. Your persistence paid off - again. 🙂
That chest of drawers can hold its head up high, proud that it looks so chic and lovely now! ❤
I'm glad you kept trying different things, because the final result is amazing!!
Stunning transformation. And that three-dimensinal aftwork- WOW! Lisa Mackres
Your talent is limitless. I am so impressed with your you're uniqueness, and style of your pieces. You're very, very creative 💕
Amazing transformation.. 👌 And that flower = wonderful 👏
Thanks a lot 😊
You never disappoint. Like that you didn't give up on working this poor piece to your satisfaction. You done good on this one.
Wow, thank you!
I love it. That was ingenious torching it. The grain on top really popped after the torching.❤
Thank you! Cheers!
I would have never guessed that they were the same dresser! Great work and so glad you stuck with it until it was just right!
It is hardly believable that this beautiful "after" chest comes from this pink-disaster "before" one 🤩 !
I was very unsure of what you'd get when burning the surface, but after the varnish it does look great, and the contrast with the drawers is splendid.
I love that creativity you artist craftsmen have, thanks a lot for sharing!
I like that you gave it an industrial feel without actually using industrial parts and colors.
When you sanded that last color off I said that's it! I really like that so,so much. Thanks for all that hard work you went thru just for us. God Bless. Hugs, Rebekah
So cool! I love when artists use a torch. It just comes out so cool!
I admire your perserverance with this project. Awesome job giving new life to a piece of furniture destined for the dump.
The shou sugi ban technique truly elevates the piece. It’s funny how rectifying mistakes can create something so beautiful. Brilliant job!✊🏾
Thank you 😊
Another wonderful save on that poor neglected piece. Well done! Now it's a piece to be proud of.
That’s the best transformation I’ve seen yet. Wow.
Thank you 😊
So much work, but I think was worth it!!! It ended being a modern and beautiful piece!!! Congrats Jay!!! You're a genious!!!! ❤❤❤❤
So often I watch videos to get ideas, but yours is one of the few channels I watch to learn. Your work is amazing. Thank you.
Wow, thank you!😻
I love the 3D flower. ❤️ Oh my gosh!!!
Thanks 😊
I’d watch you for the random cats anyway, but you’re so creative with your ideas that your channel fascinates me! Like your sense of humor, too!
Another rescued! Excellent!
Wow I can hear that woods' sigh of relief 😅 from dumpster to simple elegance 🎉
Pine furniture always has battle scars. These are part of the character of the piece and there is no need to hide them.
Amazing! So glad that you added legs to the piece. Your work is so precise and what an organized work shed!
Thanks for helping me appreciate that even experts have to resort to trial and error sometimes. Though it took a few tries, I think the result was much more than acceptable, especially considering the state the piece was in when you started. Another example of kindling turned into a beautiful accent.
Thank you and I’m no expert 😉
And some of the experts don't show their indecision. They just edit.
That chest of drawers came out AMAZING!!! The 3D piece is beautiful too
Thank you!! 😊
That little sander is cool.
Incredible! That sad little abused chest of drawers was unrecognisable after you worked your magic! Well done Jay 😃
Thank you 😊
Wow!!! I'm always impressed with your work, but this one blew me away.
And that laser cut flower is gorgeous!!!
Thank you 😊 the laser thing is really cool
It's a good thing you stuck with it because it turned out amazing!❤
Love your new staging display! It really makes the poor chest of drawers pop!
I've really enjoyed watching your skills develop over the last couple of years. Great work!
Your efforts paid off even if painful at the time. Love the 3D.
Oh wow that took a lot of love! So worth it. Very original ideas brought to fruition. The laser flower is so beautiful!
Thanks so much 😊
I LOVE THIS! We are kindred souls because I seem to have a penchant for wanting to repair what others believe is too far gone. You did such a great job. 💗
I love that you clean the inside and the back.
Absolutely beautiful!
Neighborhood cats are like grandchildren. They come for a visit, you enjoy their company and spoil them, and then send them home. 😀
It turned out so much better than i thought it would! ❤
I love your droll sense of humour. Thanks for cheering me up!
You are so welcome!😻
You are so artistic ! I was surprised at your determination/patience in the redo's and it paid off. I admire the thoroughness of your work. The final results have a desirable energy that is a direct result of the love you pour into each project. And by "love" I refer to your self respect in maintaining such high standards of workmanship.
Another thing I always think of is how much you have improved your workshop - it's a joy to behold.
I love that you hated things - I admire that you just changed things multiple times rather than settle for something you didn’t want
Thanks 😊
Love that you’ve included your costars in your new merch designs.
That little air sander is so cute.
We are always our own worst critics. While you may feel some kind of way about this piece😉..... I think you did an amazing job. Your techniques and skill brought out the wood grain and it's beauty..... even if your not thrilled, it's beautiful!! Thanks for sharing🥰
