Anyone else smile every time Jay says “hello, beautiful people”? 😊
I love what you did with this- that brass strip is just *chef’s kiss*
Ha ha couldn’t help myself 😊 I love brass. Thanks Angie ❤️
I usually reply to him saying "Well hello yourself gorgeous!"
Ha ha hi Emer 😊
Jay, I just love the way you take care of every single detail and that's why I've followed...like I did with TFG!
He’s the best and yes I get a big smile
So satisfying to watch you transform a sad little forgotten tea cart back to better than brand new. I used to apprentice for my grandfather in his workshop next door when I was in high school. He built furniture but left a lot of the restoration work for me which I loved. Watching this video brought back the wonderful smells of woodshavings, mineral oil and his favorite pipe. I'm in my happy place after watching this. Maybe i should take a new look at my garage and make space for restoration!
Great idea. We need to save the old furniture!
Do it!!!
Hello Cathy, Yvonne from Melbourne, Australia here. You are lucky to have such warm feelings and memories of your Grandfather, and sharing a job that creates something special from broken and old things. I hope you have some of his self built items now that he’s gone. And I, myself, think that would be a wonderful thing to do….start resurrecting old or damaged furniture. Perhaps you could do what Jay does and have your own channel where we could watch your creations/ restorations and barrack for you. I just love fixing things that others would gladly throw away, but my projects are usually sewing or mending. Any saved object has its own vale, both for the repair-person and the end user! Go for it, girl😊❤️🦘
@yvonnepagan9912 yes I do!! I have a grandmother clock that he built from a cherry tree that he picked out himself. I have a round colonial table that transforms into a chair. Both items I was there to watch and learn from him. I have a couple things that I found at flea markets that I restored. I love wondering about the craftsman that built them and the family that owned them. Our Savior was a carpenter! What's not to love about that?! And I, like you, mostly work with sewing and crochet and a wide variety of crafts. I'm a jack of all trades and master of none! So wonderful to hear from someone on the other side of the world!
Wow! Looks beautiful! So refreshing to see people restoring furniture and not just painting it. That brass strip is a real crown jewel on a simple piece!
Thanks for watching ❤️
I so agree!
You can actually feel how happy the wood was when you applied the Feed and Wax. A nice job, imagine how many afternoon teas were enjoyed off of this little cart and now because of you thousands more!
Thank you 🥰🎄
So true @Shackman66. Old things have soo much history behind them!!
Oh I love this piece. My Mother back in the 70's had a trolley like that for Sunday tea on the verandah. Scones or crumpets. I think you did an amazing job. Thank you for NOT removing the fabulous wheels. The sound they make means times for treats. I live in South Africa.
Thank you for sharing and for watching ☺️
You were very posh with your verandah! Gorgeous table
"The sound they make means time for treats." 🤗💞
That’s a very sweet story. I love the way you described the sound of the wheels letting you know treats were on the way. ❤💕
Hi there, from the UK. I lived in SA for 48 years, having moved down from Zambia, where I was raised. For as long as I can remember my Mom also had a trolley which we used regularly for sundowners on the verandah and also when visitors arrived.
I loved South Africa and still have a lot of family and friends there.
I love to see pieces like that saved and made beautiful again! From literally dumped by a bin to a piece anyone would b proud to put in their living room thanks to you talent and hard work!
Very kind of you 🥰
What a stunning transformation! I imagine a retail price for something unique like this would be quite high. The skill level required to do this must be incredible.
Gorgeous. I’m a 74 yr old widow and in process of making a workshop next to pool so I can watch grandkids while renewing old or abandoned things. Keep up the good videos.
Hello Vicki, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
What a beautiful little table! I love that you took something most people would have dismissed as unsalvageable and breathed new life into it!
Thanks for watching ❤️
Obsessed! So glad you kept the wheels, they are what make it special. I am learning SO much from watching you, some new tool every video! Thanks for being a great 'teacher'! :)
Thank you for watching 🤗
So beautiful.

This is so beautiful! I was glad to see the piece really restored and not painted. The inlay was the perfect finishing touch. Bravo!
Astounding transformation, absolutely beautiful and the brass inlay lifts it into a whole new league.
Oak is such a beautiful wood. Your TLC with your projects really stands out and makes them shine. I know what you mean about prepping the backs and undersides. My grandmother did needlework all her life, and the back of her embroidery was as perfect as the front. That was an early lesson I learned and it has served me well, many times over. I really enjoy your channel and your gentle sense of humor. Thank you!!!
That’s very kind of you as always 😊 thank you 🙏
You do such incredible work. I have refinished some pieces of old furniture that in the course of my work, I have found that it was made by father or grandfather. I have then asked them about the history ( before they had passed) and found out
that usually it had been made as a school project. It is fun to see their skill progress as they make more things. They started with basic boxes and went on from there. I now have a metal trunk from when my great grandmother immigrated from Germany in the 1880's. Do you have any suggestions as to how to proceed with this? Thank you for sharing your artistry wit th rest of us.
when I saw it was oak, I sweee'd.
Well I love this. The brass inlay a touch of genius. Great job.
Thanks Jonathan ;-)
That’s absolutely amazing! This tea cart is right down my alley I’ve been looking for one for a long time and can’t find anything but metal junk. What a treasure to find on the side of the road maybe I’ll get us lucky someday. Good job with the redo. It looks amazing
It was actually quite emotional to see you bring that tea trolley back to life. The end result is beautiful; you should be proud of your skills.
Hello Chryseas, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
You did a magnificent job bringing back to life this cart. The brass strip was a smart move. Excellent taste!
Absolutely beautiful!! It's great to see something actually restored instead of painted.
In which we meet Hugo! I'm currently going back and watching all the videos in chronological order, and it's absolutely fascinating to see the progression. I love how you sometimes refer to your wooden "patients" as little old ladies or gentlemen , and I'm sure that same empathy made you a wonderful health-care worker. 🤗
Though I'll never do furniture restoration, I believe that creativity feeds creativity, and you are SO creative!
Thanks for giving us so many hours (days, weeks, months) of delightful inspiration.
Sand on! 😉
Ha ha scary thought lol but thank you ;-)
Whoever built that originally used his skill, love, and patience to make a useful thing for a family....I would like to believe that he is looking down now with a smile on his face for you saving it.
Your workspace is so clean which for me is why I subscribed. I have been an artist all my life, and this my friend is art! The attention to detail, the respect you have for the pieces you work on and, most of all you put a little of your heart and soul into these pieces! Beautiful!
That’s very kind of you. Thank you so much ☺️
You ever had and if not, considered CBT?
Thank you for saying this! My husband and I are both artists and we know what goes into “craft” . Same effort, creativity required.
HAY UN PROVERBIO GRIEGO QUE DICE : * AYUDA AL ORDEN, QUE EL ORDEN , TE AYUDARÁ A TÍ *
This poor little trolley needed a lot of work and you were the right person for the job! Your attention to every detail and adding your own creative touches make the piece special! I love the brass unicorn that adorns your finished projects. Thank you for allowing me to watch you work😊
Thanks for watching 💛
The finished product is sublime. Each piece of wood absorbed the stain in such gorgeous hues of walnut. You've taken a utilitarian work horse of furniture and elevated it to stand gracefully on its own. Bravo.
Glad you like it! Thanks for watching 😉
That cute folding table was lovingly not only restored to its former glory, but also embelished! Trash to treasure indeed. It was also a pleasure to see such a clean and well organized workspace. Gave you a like and subscribed. Cheers!
Great job! Seeing you take “roadkill” hfurniture and turn it into beautiful items absolutely warms my heart. 🥰
Thank you so much!
I love that expression road kill. 😁
My husband also found an old tea trolley. Someone had painted it with white gloss paint. I stripped it down, veneered it and put A glass top on it. It is now beautiful.
I love to watch these videos because they give such good hints on how to restore these treasures. Thank you for your super videos. I normally stay away from subscribing to videos but this sort of video I consider worthwhile. I haven't seen your channel before but I will watch them again.
Say hi to Hugo for me.
Beautiful work! The grandfathers are looking down and smiling. The brass accent strip is particularly nice, best of luck!
Thank you Joseph
I love old furniture and it’s nice to see when pieces are restored back to their beauty. Thank you for doing it.
Hello Sharon, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
I didn't really think that piece was recoverable, but you did an amazing job of bringing it back to life. Lovely job!
I have one of these and I had no idea it was called a tea trolley! Thanks! Your refinishing job is beautiful.
The tea cart came out beautifully! What a small but useful piece of furniture. Could be used in a small home as a little dining table for 2
I love it when old pieces are saved and restored. The end result was lovely and the brass inlay was a very nice addition.
Thank you 😊
You are such a joy to watch work. Your attention to detail, meticulous work ethic, and your sense of humor keep people coming back to watch new projects. Well done!
Hello Pat, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
@@trevorjennings I am doing well, thank you, and I hope good health and a happy life are yours, today. I have a hard time falling asleep and your videos help me to do that. Thank you so very much. God bless you with His love and caring goodness.
@@patsabol8699 Thanks Pat😊.
Would like us to chat privately hope that’s fine?
The tea cart is just beautiful! You did a wonderful job.
Thank you 😊
Beautiful job! I love to see pieces like this saved from the landfill.
Talk about a diamond in the rough. It looks beautiful again. You gave life back to something others considered hopeless. Awesome restoration.😊
Beautiful job with the trolley. The woodgrain is gorgeous.
Beautiful work and I am so glad you saved it!
I love that your videos are so full of detail and yet not overly long. What a great transformation!!
And music is just quiet background.
Thank you 😊
@@Flippingdrawers I have cast iron bed projects 😀
The inlay in wood gets me every time. It just does so much to modernize a look!!! And the skills for this…. Just wow.
Thank you 😊
I love the brass accent you added. That really made it look more modern.
Observing your work I know that you are skilled in your craft. You methodically yet patiently work to improve the appearance of the wood. I can certainly say that you achieved your goal! It is gorgeous! Instead of that little trolley cart being lost to the garbage dump, you can proudly use it with purpose in mind. My husband is a carpenter who has worked with wood some 40+ years & has made many a gorgeous gift for me. You are doing the same with your talents. Thanx for a great video!
That’s very kind. I’m not a trained carpenter but really like learning about woodworking.
The tea cart turned out beautiful!
Amazing transformation!
Looking good! Such a major difference! It's a real joy to see something like this rescued.
Excellent finish, you did a amazing job.
Rescued and now such a beautiful piece of vintage furniture! Your skill lies in seeing potential and then achieving it. This table will be admired for years to come!
🥰🤗
It's Lovely! I'm glad you let the different wood tones shine through. Great video as always. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks Anita❤️
What a total transformation. Absolutely stunning!!! What a privilege to watch your work. Such talent, know how and labor of love, I’m sure!!! The inlay was the icing, so welcomed as the finishing stroke of beauty!!
Thank you! Cheers!💛
Watching you restore an old table you found brought back some memories. Back in 1974 I acquired an antique oak rocking chair frame. Years later, I refinished the frame in a golden oak finish. A few years later, and a big life change, I found an upholsterer that would build up a period seat cushion. Many years later, I am sitting in this chair, in 2023! It will be passed down and probably last another hundred years.
To be honest, I was excited to see that the tea/gum trolley was in such bad shape because I knew you would bring it back to it`s original stunning beauty. You are so meticulous and caring with your work that I love watching your work. I highly recommend to all that have watched this video to subscribe so you do not miss the next project.
Thank you so much Pamela 🥰 very kind
It looks classy and high end. This brass line added quality look. Well done!
And ... you absolutly deserve 50k and more
Absolutely lovely! It was his lucky day when you came along and rescued him! He looks amazing ❤
I have watched other videos of people restoring old furniture pieces. Yours was the only one who restored it to its original state.
What a cute little cart made exquisite by your attention to details!
Love it! Thanks for the video. 😄
Thank you for watching Carol 🤗
Loved the finished product. The tea tray was such an interesting find, I'm glad you decided to give new life into it. It's such a shame the previous owner was ready to throw it away!
The brass strip takes the table to another level. Great job.
My dad was very much like you. He had infinite patience in the process and in the details. Well done. Beautiful job!
Thank you 🙏
These videos never cease to amaze me. You somehow manage to take furniture that most people wouldn't think twice about throwing away and turn them into furniture that looks absolutely stunning. I honestly alway look forward to your videos. Keep up the fantastic work.
Wow, thank you Fred!
This piece now has another lifetime of enjoyment and usage. It would have been a crime to throw it away.
OJÚ CON LA RUSA, SI PUDIERA, SE LO LLEVABA PARA ALLA. NO CFEO QUE ENCAJARA ALLÍ.
I smiled as Jay said "Hello, beautiful people!"... I was at first skeptical about the inlay, but then... really really beautifully done!
Thank you 😊
This guy is absolutely gorgeous! His little “shoes” really completed the look, along with the inlay. Marvelous job!
Thanks 😊
This turned out beautifully! I usually don’t care for metal inlays, but I must say, it looks great on this little tea cart. Glad to find your channel ☺️
I like watching you because there's no way I'd have the tools or patience to put in that much work 🤣🤣🤣 great job!
My pleasure 😇
I also say "Hello, beautiful people". Kismet. Glad to have found you, and yes, I liked and subscribed. I love inlay, furniture restoration and attention to detail. You are the trifecta, thank you.
What a great save! The brass inlay really took it over the top! Outstanding!
It came out very nicely and didn’t take long at all! I like the extra touch with the inlay, and I loved seeing Hugo.
Hi Kay 👋 thank you 🙏 I love that 🐱
I’d love to see you use a hard carnauba wax and then hand buff it out. Nothing comes close to the final finish of that combo. I redid a few small chairs that had been in my family for a few hundred years. The result was AMAZING. Those wooden runners need to have some Gulf Wax (a very firm paraffin wax used in home food canning). It makes a very smooth glide
I think when you bring a piece of furniture from the past back to life it thanks you. People think they are inanimate objects but I don't view them as such. A person created it touched it and left their presence on them.
You made it look beautiful again and I'm sure it's thanking you.
That’s very kind. Thank you
My Dad was a carpenter & so were several of his brothers. I must have it in my DNA because it's always been of interest to me. I should have acted upon that interest when I was young. I guess it's never to late. I'm retired & I would love to start repairing woodwork. This turned out to be a beautiful finished product. Thank you for sharing.
Wow, how beautiful! There must be such a feeling of accomplishment when you’ve completed a project like this.
I love watching you work. Back in the day my dad did restorations like this, and I used to help him. He also did lots of other wood work also, as I expect you do.
He is so dapper with that shiny, shiny inlay! Well done.
The little guy turned out beautifully. The brass strip and clean lines give it a more modern look which is quite appealing. Very glad you found it and rescued it from the landfill.
Thanks 😊
You could buy an electric nail file for the tiny grooves! They come with tiny sanding bits which might work well on tiny areas/grooves.
Will check it out 👍
@@Flippingdrawers you could also get a small hobby drill, called a Dremel. There are also tiny little stones and file bits made for them. My son makes model airplanes and uses one, that I had used in my acrylic nail salon, almost 30 years ago.
PERFECT!!! I love the brass inlay! Absolutely stunning...it needed a little bit more didn't it 🤩🤩🤩
Yay! Thank you!
I always enjoy watching ppl who bring furniture back to useful life.
Hello Lynn, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
I love watching skilled craftsmen return these pieces into the treasures they are.
Thanks 😊
Looks amazing!! Well done👏👏
Nice to hear you talk about using the brush as long you follow the wood grain 😁 already had a few "heartaches" seeing flippers having no idea what they were doing and then complaining that had scratches on the wood 😕🤷🏼♀️ Oh... Now I know why you're polishing that brass inlay on IG, yes I'm a stalker but a healthy one 🤣🤣🤣 The tea table looks beautiful 😍
PS: Congrats on the 50.6K 🥳🎉🎉🎉 Next step 100K to get your Play Button ▶️😊
Thank you Linda😊 your support is definitely help item get there 🥰
My wife and I were very impressed with your fine attention to detail and the addition of the brass piece made it very elegent.
Thank you ☺️
I am so impressed with the outcome of the work you put into this old tea trolley.
very sympathetic restoration, brilliantly executed. the brass inlay was the perfect finishing touch. excellent as always🖤
Thanks very much 🥰
Love all the different sanding sounds, beautiful work as always.
🙏🥰
So relaxing to watch these videos!
What a wonderful transformation of this table!!! Even the wheels look wonderful now!! The strip of brass really classes up the table!! Thank you for saving the table and making it look beautiful!!
Thanks for watching 😊
It always amazes me how little people respect furniture pieces made of wood and let there condition just deteriorate so much. Oak is suck a beautiful wood. Well done restoring this piece and you even added a little bit of your own flare to it with the brass inlay. It was a nice touch that added a visual pop to it.
What a beautiful job! I love oak. Personally I feel the inlay was “gilding the lily” a bit, but it looks good.
It’s just a small table on wheels my grandmother had one back in 1950, we had tea and cake on Sundays
Cool ;-)
Too bad your granny was only able to keep her small table on wheels for one year.
Wow! Awesome transformation! Great work to save this little guy from the landfill and instead give it a second new life.
Excellent bit of workmanship and restoration.
Now that's definitely Shabby to SHIEK.
Very nice indeed and a job to be proud of.
Hello Pretty, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
Just gorgeous 😍. Love how it looks fully extended. Great job!!!!
Excellent job as expected with you!
You do great restoration and beyong with your own touch of details like the brass inlay here.
Thank you for the video.
My pleasure 😇 thank you for watching Leticia
I love how you make everything so breathtakingly beautiful. I'm always I'm awe. God bless. Stay safe and healthy. Cherish the ones that you love. Tomorrow is never promised. I lost my husband on a horrific car fire 7-2-23. 22 years married.
Hello Pretty, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
That little gold strip was so simple but elevated the piece sooo much! Great design choice
Thank you 😊

I enjoyed watching this transformation so much, and I appreciate your very gentle manner. Just subscribed and can’t wait to watch more! I would love to learn how to do this some day.
Congratulations on a beautiful restoration.
It was just my mom and I. ... we actually used one of these as a kitchen table. Without the wheels. We had a garage sale one day and sold the table! I never found out why she would do that.
I enjoyed your video. Thank you
Thanks for watching 😊
Fantastic restoration and fun video as always. I am subscribed 😁. One trick to keep in mind is to use rounded side of the router against the straight edge - that way even if you slightly rotate it inadvertently the grove will still be straight.
Thanks. It’s probably the last time I’ve done it. Got a nice guide fence and a plunge base for it.
Блестящая работа! Мне очень понравилось что вы заостряете внимание даже на мелочах. Столик не просто слегка восстановлен, он полностью обновлён. У вас золотые руки! Успехов вам, а с меня подписка.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
This is a beautiful restoration, makes me want to upgrade my tea cart.
How beautiful she looks! I admire every person restoring vintage and modern pieces .
Thank you 😊🎄
