In Vulture, Rebecca Alter wrote, “It’s like nothing else on TV, except maybe Hannibal, if every character on Hannibal spoke like Hannibal.” And I felt seen.
yeah, as a hannibal fan, i reaaally love IWTV. I never thought I would love another TV show as i do with hannibal, but right now I'm obsessed with IWTV. I still think hannibal has a bit of an edge,.thanks to the cinematography and some storytelling, but its pretty close to perfection
what's funny is that I'm pretty sure Bryan Fuller was inspired by Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. (I've heard this from many people but I can't find a source at the moment ;.;) He also was going to be on board for the TV project to create IWTV initially, but this is back in like 2018 and then he left the project (IDK why.)
im personally obsessed with armand, he became my second favorite character after lestat. Theres something about the quiet power he holds, hes not explosive (yet) which to me is scarier but so alluring, that controlled rage behind his eyes combined with the smooth voice is just chefs kiss. ive only watched the movie and antonio banderas didnt really make that big of an impression with me but assad is just something else i love what hes doing with the character.
"Can vampires' hair grow?" Fun weird trivia from the books: When they sleep at night, IIRC all their hair returns to the length it was when they died. One of the ancient (6000 year old) vampires in later books uses this to braid her hair into ropes that are just as impervious as she herself is. The ropes are strong enough to bind Lestat.
10:15, THIS DIVA ARMAND! I'd let any crimes against humanity he commits slide, he's too pretty and he and Louis together are actually what gorgeous toxic but not yet (in the show at least abusive) lgbt love is made of
the part in romania does happen in the book. they do meet emilia (emily) and morgan AND the feral/zombie vampire what does not happen is the daciana part. i think she is mirroring magnus (lestat's maker) and another character from armand's coven pre-theatre called allesandra. in the book louis is the more active one when fighting the vampire but also claudia's body is only 5 years old so it makes sense.
In the books Lestat says that Louis is the most human of all vampires. I like your commentary on the show! Im all caught up and omg it keeps getting better!!
@@jessaandalexwatch Perhaps, hopefully, you will be able to make on channel your reaction to future episodes of iwtv. You have a very cool reaction!🥹🩷💕❤️
The Vampire Lestat is my favorite of the books! Granted I’ve only read the first 4. Still recommend it, tho you should know it does lead into the third book, so it ends on a cliffhanger
Best comment: (Louis and Armand in bed together) "This lesbian bed death situation...your Lestat nights weren't like this...also, you guys preferred to share a teeny little coffin...this separation is very human of you..." 😈

In the book there is about a 50 page stretch of their adventures through Eastern Europe before Paris. They meet Morgan and “Emily”.
Thank you! It has been a good decade since I’ve read it.
@@jessaandalexwatch sorry, where i can watch your reactions to the first season of iwtv?❤️
We didn’t do that one for the channel, unfortunately.

I've been waiting and hoping for this day! 💫🤓💓
