Someone pointed out that Claudia in the play was talking about the birds and jumps from a window very similar to Louis brother who said that birds talk to him and jumped from the roof of their home.

Did not think I would feel so damn bad for Armand but here we are.
Louis to Armand: "Well- I wouldn't call it a *companionship..."*
Also Louis to Armand: "I love you 😏😊"
    what a menace.

I think you would benefit from rewatching ep. 1, we've known Louis attacked Daniel since we heard that snippet of recording at the very beginning.
I'm also told that we should refresh our memories of episode 5 to prepare for the rest of the season ☺️

Now that you say that, I totally remember. I even revisited the major points of season one to refresh my memory before the season two premiere, but I suppose that was a month ago now and my ADHD is very real lol. Will definitely go back to ep 5 again, thank you!

The fact that even we books readers are at the edge of our seat because we don't know how we'll get to the event, or even if we're gonna get those events in the way we know them. I fucking love this show and I eat every week listening other people praise it

Gosh this season just keeps getting better and better, this was my favorite episode so far.
Louis has let his life get so enmeshed with his imaginary husband that he needs to fully have an actual break up with Dreamstat to stop hallucinating.
You know Louis is an amazingly compelling character most of the time already, but I LOVE when he's the one getting dark and manipulative too. Jacob Anderson had said in interviews that he hopes not too many people hate Louis by the end of the season and it was the most exciting thing he could have said for me. And during that scene with Armand at the end where he makes him open and hold the umbrella and light his cigarette and he is textually returning to his pimp persona and he calls Armand by his brothel name and Armand calls him master? Now THAT is fcked up and I can't wait for more. It can't make me hate you Louis I'll be eating it up.

We've seen Lestat stop time as well in S1 (such as in the poker game with Louis after they first met or when they stopped everyone at the bar when the police were going to their house because of all the bodies popping up).
My guess is Lestat learned it from Armand, because when you see Lestat meeting Armand in the flashback (last episode, I think? When he was with Nicky), Armand has frozen time around them (which from a BTS angle was cool, because they did it practically with everyone just standing very still).
Armand just seems to be more powerful and thus better at it than Louis saw with Lestat.
Honestly, Armand knocking all the vampires unconscious at the table WHILE freezing time was more frightening to me! It's one thing with humans, but with vampires? Wow.

I have conflicted feelings about Santiago too, especially after this episode. He's much more interesting and charismatic in the show than he is in the book/movie. And he treats Claudia well, I love every scene of them together. He's like a wiser friend, or a father figure, that she never had but desperately wanted to.

I can't wait! For episode five, because, that's where we are going to get more insight to the first interview, and this will show us why Armand had to pretend to be Rashad, to keep Louise from getting out of hand. The producers of IWTV, did a real good job of hiring the cast and crew. Everything from the actors to the directors, plus, the music is perfect.

Given your appreciation for the various production details in the show, I highly recommend checking out Autumn Brown's videos. She does recaps but she also does interviews and so far she's interviewed one of the writers, the head set designer, Assad, and Delainey. It seems like it's going to be somebody new after every episode!

I don’t think Armand is making Daniel remember anything. I think Daniel is having pressure put on him, and that combined with the mere presence of Armand is enough to make long-ago concealed memories leak through. I don’t see why Armand would be purposefully pushing Daniel to remember these things at this moment. He and Louis have both lowered their offensive tactics against Molloy. To me it would seem counterproductive for Armand to get Daniel to remember the past when it his wish is to get this interview done as smoothly and quickly as possible. But next episode should be illuminating…

Another fantastic episode. My opinion is that the story that Armand told Louie in the gallery is part truth and part manipulation. I don't believe that Armand's maker Marius is dead..I love seeing this side of Lestat in Louie's imagination. When Louie lets him go in the rain is a great scene. My obsession with Santiago continues lol. Loving your reactions!

It’s definitely reasonable to assume that Marius isn’t dead. If there’s one thing we know about these characters is that there’s no reliable truths being told. I know what you mean about Santiago. He’s very compelling in this show and Ben Daniels is superb.

I also don’t think Marius is dead, but I dont’ think Armand is lying. Armand thinks he’s dead, because he saw Marius get burned, and then Marius never came back for him for over 300 years. I would assume he is dead also, if I were in that position! Armand also never says explicitly that Marius is dead either- just that he was burned.

I always look forward to your reactions Brittany, you're always so funny and insightful! I also geek out about all the creatives involved in this, we're so damn lucky!!! Autumn, another fabulous creator, has been interviewing cast and crew (I recommend her reactions too, hilarious and unhinged like all of us fellow sickos 😂). The last interview was with Mara, I hope she gets Carol too!

Ok so I rewatched last week's episode (2x03) and here is the thing - While Louis and the show at large want to position his and Claudia's argument as a 'both are right' moment in ACTUALITY by revealing the truth to Armand a full night before she joined the coven and not telling her that Armand knew the truth he DID chose another one over her in that moment.
Now it was for noble reasons but also selfish ones because he admittedly wanted her to be taken care of and not feel that guilt/burden of having to look after her because she can't navigate the world as the adult woman she is. But even IN this fight he lied about how Armand knew instead of taking ANY responsibility which is him, again, choosing Armand over her.

@@A.Schell what marius 'did to him' is not supposed to be read as abuse. anne wrote it as a rescuer story. when you read a story you're supposed to read it through the historical and fictional context and with the author's intent in mind. armand was never traumatized by anything marius did, and marius never acted purposely maliciously towards armand. no matter how you feel about it, this is how it is in canon.

    • @lunemaline
      @lunemaline Před 8 dny

@@houseonjupiter Well Anne herself was a pedo apologist in real life, she once recommended a book about a Nobel prize winner who was in prison for SAing a 14 year old to her readers, in that post she says she doesn’t see teenagers as children and that they’re adults. you’re meant to actually use common sense and media literacy and see that Marius putting Armand, a child, in a brothel to learn how to “couple properly”, a man who had SA’d him, who has abused him physically and psychologically, gaslighted him and conditioned him to love and worship him, for what he is, a horrible man. No matter his intentions. You’re meant to understand that Anne’s disgusting views colored Marius on the pages of the book. Her intention were to make it into a savior story, sure, that doesn’t mean you’re meant to come out of it seeing it in that way and not be disgusted by this relationship.
I don’t know how you read and watch the evil vampires books and show that are about the trauma and cycles of abuse they’re stuck in and come out “actually Marius didn’t do anything wrong”. Armand loving Marius doesn’t change that he’s a victim and a survivor of abuse, many people in real life have conflicting and loving feelings towards their abusers, that doesn’t erase that they’re victims of abuse. And y’all jumping through hoops to excuse it makes y’all look foolish and weird.
