We finally got to see the real Lestat and it made me sob. Sam Reid is an amazing actor

This episode was super satisfying for me. Seeing Louis' character growth and the way he and Lestat come together at the end to mourn their daughter was just amazing. And I definitely got chills with the "I own the night" line. Can't wait for season 3!

I don't think Louis and Lestat got back together. I think they just reconciled. They had a moment of truth and reconciliation, and Louis left him in New Orleans and went back to Dubai on his own. Remember he said he was companion enough for himself at that time.

Something to think about - Armand said he preserved Louis happiness. Daniel made Louis happy. Maybe his turning Daniel wasn't fully out of spite. Perhaps it was as apology gift to Louis. Perhaps it's because Armand finally found someone who could best him & hold his own against him. And by being his maker - he would always have someone he couldn't read and would therefore be a match for his own mind. Or perhaps Daniel wanted the gift. We'll see in season three perhaps.
