Absolutely read the books! It’s fun to see how the show unfolds the book events in an innovative way!

Raglan James of the Talamasca was hacking into Daniels computer to give him files full of information. Daniel was trying to delete or exit the files while Louis was talking to him. Just to clear up your confusion about that part.

Raglan James will become an important factor in a future season as he plays a central role in Anne Rice's 4th book in "The Vampire Chronicles", "Tale of the Body Thief."

Oh do read the books! IwtV is a vastly different read to books 2 and 3 though, so don’t get discouraged if you struggle a bit with the first one. Also, the audio books are available for free on CZcams (though the narrator screws up Louis name 😂).

You looked a bit lost when all the stuff popped up on Daniel's computer. What's going on is Raglan, the guy he met in the restaurant, hacked Daniel and placed a bunch of files on his laptop about the history of Louis and Armand (& accidentally, Daniel himself back when he first met them). Raglan belongs to a kind of 'Men In Black' organization called "Talamasca" that keeps tabs on supernatural beings, and he's there to help. Keep up the good work!

I don't know if it's a good sign, but they mentioned a character who come from another Ann Rice novel, which takes place years after the events of Interview with the vampire...

Back when this movie first came out, it was what EVERYONE was talking about. It was very unique at the time. But I read somewhere that Anne Rice was not Happy about the movie. Most authors do not like all the details that are left out of the movies though. I hope you do a reaction to tge movie as well. Love watching these with my BillyBoy. 💜

Anne Rice actually had something to do with the making of the movie. I think she did the screen play or something like that. I don't believe she disliked the movie. She did originally have a problem with Tom Cruise being cast as Lestat, but changed her mind after seeing the movie. She paid to take a whole front page out to publicly admit she was wrong, and that Cruise was great as Lestat.

    Hello Billy, the Reaction Slayer,
I'm glad that you are enjoying the show, however, I do recommend that you watch the much superior 1994 screen adaption of "Interview" as I feel that the movie is a much more faithful adaption of the source material. While Sam Reid & Jacob Anderson, plus the two girls that have played Claudia are wonderful actors & have brought a new generation to these characters, they don't hold a candle to the presence or magnetism that Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, & Kirsten Dunst had as Lestat, Louis & Claudia, plus the show lacks the gothic atmosphere of the book, which the 1994 movie managed to retain, plus there were a lot of moments in the film adaption & the book such as Lous' transformation, & Claudia's transformation that hit harder in the book & in the film more profoundly then the series has. Plus, there are the unnecessary changes to the timeline & Louies' profession. Also, I feel that as much as I love Jacob Anderson & Sam Reid, they are far too old to be playing Louis & Lestat. You need actors who are in their late teens/early 20s. It's just the way, I feel. Despite my issues with the show, it's still an entertaining program to watch & they have gotten a few aspects of the book right, like Louie's brother Paul having visions & hearing voices. Paul's suicide being one of the chief motivators behind Louies' guilt. They also took elements & characters from other books & managed to weave those in perfectly to set up future seasons. The third season will be based on Anne Rices' second book in The Vampire Chronicles: "The Vampire Lestat" which tells Lestat's origin story, which in turn sets up "Queen of the Dammed" which is about how Vampires came to be. Despite my issues with the series, I can't wait to see how they will adapt the next two books in the series. Anyway, those are my thoughts on the matter.
