    I bought a 2018 GSX-S1000Z ABS in 2019 by total accident. Backed into it while examining a Kawie Z900 that I was intent on buying that night new off the floor at an MC dealer in So Cal. Paid $7000 for a dealer demo with 4000 miles on the clock. Felt like I stole it. Had two K^ Gixxer litre bikes previously. Was unaware that Suzuki made a naked after the B-King (which I also once owned). Bought the Gixses that night and rode it home in the rain. Three years later, I'm still in love with that bike. Rides like the Gixxer, but with a much more comfortable riding position. Like the sound of the stock exhaust. Now has Corsa II tires and bar-end mirrors. Speedo's off by about 7%. Installed a Power Commander to add some fuel for smoothness. What a great bike!

      @gkbike7002 Před 2 lety +1

      Yes I commuted in winter. Its great on wet roads. It has 5 stage traction control, off an 4 more active settings. 5 is rain mode. Under 30 mph traction control and mapping can be altered. C mode and TCT are excellent in the wet. A mode and TCT 1 or off and its a monster. Very aggressive. B mode is more daily use but hit the twisties open her up and she's seriously quick. I've done the original dunlops in 3k. Just put michelin road 5s on. Very good and tip in well. But by far the best thing about it is it handles like a 750. Really nimble. Its actually 1kg lighter than the 750 because it has the gixxer 1000 aluminum frame, engine and swing arm.

    Great video Spite, but honestly you don't really even go into the half of it. There is a whole family of GSXS-1000 bikes now. The plain GSXS-1000, the GSXS-1000F with a full fairing, The 80's retro styled Katana GSXs-1000F and the sports touring GSXS-1000GT. They are all basically the same bike with different bodywork, seats and subframes. Suzuki knocked it out of the park in '05 and they keep running the bases. As for me, I love my 2020 Katana. I personally think it looks great and it's a beast of a bike when you get on it but with enough of a mild mannered persona if you take it easy to do just about anything.

    Hi, yes i have that exact gsxs1000, same colour..
    I took 1 year to think about what naked bike I was going to buy...
    Was it going to be a ducati or a yamaha or a honda I wasn't even considering a suzuki... until I read about the K5 engine....
    So it was a bit dated but it was a special engine, so I had to see for my self what was the big hipe...
    So I made an appointment at the suzuki dealer to try it
    A 30 minute ride was all it took to hook me, that was it, I had discovered the K5 engine in a more refined manner and man did that sound and that gruall put my hairs on edge...
    Some people forget that perfection on a motorcycle is not about the most modern, it's all about how the bike makes you feel when you ride it...
    When suzuki decided to build that bike they first asked their fans how they wanted the bike to be...
    And then and behold came the GSX-1000

    Unluckily I just could ride it one time for one hour. But I am thinking about to buy it in the comming years.
    I appreciate the way how Suzuki manage their lineup, eliminating one weak part after the other and seeling an updated version for affordable prices. Over long-term this causes a good availability of spareparts and a big community of owners which can help you with their experience / knowledge to fix any problem that may appear one day.
    Over all technical matureness, longevity and reliability of the core of the bike are much more important to me than peakpower figures and electronic features.

    I think Suzuki, more than any other manufacturer, would love to be pushing the performance boundaries year after year. But the reality is, that level of R&D is just too expensive to pay for with a product that sells in these limited quantities. It takes many years to recoup that investment if you are going to sell bikes like these in the everyman’s budget. I am just happy they have continued to build such high quality bikes that do hold up and pass the test of time. Yet still haul a**!

And if one of these electric vehicles goes wrong with the torque and power they have the driver or rider will be dead. Anyway I'm showing my age but I'm seriously considering the new r7. Might only have 70hp but there no electronics controlling it. I could just ride and enjoy.

    I have a GSXR1000 and had a GSXS1000 which I sold recently. Personally, I loved riding them both but the GSXR, despite being ancient history is so much better. Sure the GSXS has more low down torque but it’s too snatchy. You get used to it and it was always fun to ride but once I got back on the GSXR and felt it’s smooth power delivery and feel through the front tyre, you realise that the GSxS is a lesser copy. Plus the buttons on the GSXS feel a little cheap. I had the PC5 on the GSXS and it was still a snatchy handful compared the GSXR. The GSXR is a comfortable sports bike and would be fine for long rides if that’s your thing.
