      Plus take the BUSA to the track and most 600 cc motorcycles will smoke it.

    I get the turbo Busa memes, but all I took away from that is "Buy a new Fireblade, flash the ECU, and you'll have something that is comparable to the Busa. But without all the ball ache of putting a turbo on it. Plus it will be lighter and have rider aids. That will make it easier to go fast"

  • @resiflo99
    @resiflo99 Před 2 lety +21

    Generally you guys make good content but I’m confused here, did I miss something? I saw 1 pull where the busa was 2 gears too high? So, no subsequent pulls? No 3rd, no trying second? I mean, I daily a geared Zx10r. I know what it’s like to have the front end lift in second gear. It doesn’t mean I don’t use it though. (I shut off my traction control before every ride). I’m just confused. I feel like this tells us that a liter bike in an optimal gear is faster than a boosted busa if the busa rider messes up and then gives up. But what happens when both riders do what they’re supposed to?

  • @keegan809
    @keegan809 Před 2 lety +18

    One pull kinda ruins all the cool analysis of the video. All the other videos of this bike you actually open it up but in the actual comparison you give up after one hit. Better conclusion would have been it was just too busy today.

      IIRC the Gen 1 Hayabusa's only have a neutral switch rather than a gear position sensor so you'd have to find a way to mount your own internal sensor to detect gears. Also I'm pretty sure the turbo they bought uses a mechanical wastegate rather than an electronic one.

    • @AJRides
      @AJRides Před 2 lety +3

      @@epicfacecanada mechanical waste gate works fine with boost controller , you control the solenoid pulses.

I can also confirm that yours should really have an extended swing arm, mine was only slightly lowered from stock but was about 5 in over in wheelbase, and I could still hit the twisties and I could floor it without having to worry about wheelies (much). I can also confirm that mine would smear the rear tire at the top of third gear, so somewhere around 130 lol mph

    I've built a few turbo Busas back in the day. They are fast, all HP is fast but unless you have unlimited road they are most fast on the dyno or in the hands of somebody like Ghost Rider, if that dude is even still alive. The H2 is superior because superchargers don't have the spool delay. I love turbo Busas, but by todays standards they are dated technology as you just demonstrated. At the dragstrip you can make all the HP in the world, but if you can't put it to the asphalt it means nothing. That's why most categories at the dragstrip other than test n tune forbid most electronics, traction control is cheating......lol 😂

Why do people Turbo Hayabusa's vs Supercharging them?

    • @rexnisher4062
      @rexnisher4062 Před 2 lety +4

      A supercharger is connected to the camchain. You would have to construct a new engine to convert something like that with a whole new engine block...
      The turbo you can "simply" hang onto the exhaust flow and pump air into the intake. That's a lot easier and cheaper than constructing a whole new engine. You want to keep the "original engine" / upgrade

      Subscribers are a vanity metric. This channel does 5M+ views per month consistently and generates 7 figures in revenue per year, we've got a winning strategy. We make way more than 50 videos a year lol, last year we did 370. Making fewer videos is a losing strat because you're putting way more eggs into one basket, and we focus more on consistent evergreen content at scale rather than flashy "viral" hits. You nailed it with "real world usability" ...people used to give me a hard time because I bought a 911 Carrera base instead of the "S"..my reply was "the S's additional HP is all at the top end...when and where on normal streets am I going to use that? Plus the base Carrera has more torque than the S in the low-midrange where i DO spend all of my time"...Same with my bikes...it's always the "why didnt you buy the (fill in the blank)?" Here's the deal...spec sheets are GREAT, they help with research..but if you can only afford 1 bike...pick out 3 different bikes and go test ride them in REAL TRAFFIC and do a few highway pulls...unless you're fortunate enough like Yammie to have several specialized bikes for each occasion =) And as an old guy with 20+ yrs riding when it comes to sport bikes..yammie is right 600 is the perfect size..unless you're 6'2" and 230lbs like me..then you HAVE to by a Liter bike lol

    me in my loud-for-no-reason Miata: *sees a cop ahead* *upshifts so its quieter as i pass and moves into the other lane if possible and slows down*
    Yammie on the turbo busa: * accelerates passed the cop so fast that he needs to blur the speedo*
    thats crazy. i would never, in my wildest dreams, in any vehicle, accelerate passed a cop who has someone pulled over. in fact in my area its a law that if a cop has someone pulled over on the side of the road you have to slow down well below the speed limit and if possible move over to give nearly a car width between you and the cop.

    Imagine selecting the wrong gear and then saying that it was the electronics of the other bike that made it faster 🤦🏽‍♂️😂
    We all know Turbo Hayabusa’s aren’t practical compared to a modern naked. You’re basically standing next to a drag car and telling us about how there’s better things to run to the shops in. THAT’S NOT WHAT WE CAME TO WATCH. Nobody cares about it as a practical bike. May as well put it next to a trail bike and tell me how crap the Busa is off-road 🙄

    Hey papa yam I’m looking for an xsr700 and can’t find one but there are a lot of bikes that are hard to find. Anyways I thought it would be cool if you made a video over why sometimes it’s hard to find bikes.

    One of the best video IMO. Most people forget that this is all about physics. What are the forces that comes into play when you calculate acceleration? Forward pushing force (torque/HP, multiplied by the gear ratio), weight of the object to accelerate, drag factor of the environment (accelerating underwater is way harder then in the empty space), and the one everyone always forget about in this case, the force that takes the engine/transmission power and transfer it into a kinetic force (movement): the frictions (both the one that drives you forward, and the one that drags you because tires are "sticky" to a degree. So lets forget about environment drag because every bike will accelerate in the same environment , and the friction drag caused by the tires themselves cuz its negligeable. As I just mentionned, the force that uses your engine power and translates it into movement is the friction between the tire and the ground. So if you have more power than the maximum friction of the tire, you will simply spin the tire (burn anyone?). So it doesn't matter if you have 180 hp or 120 000 000. You will NEVER be able to accelerate faster than your friction allows to. Everyone I hear talking crap about their bikes making that much power etc always made me laugh at their ignorance about simple physics (even if you didn't have the opportunity to learn physics at school, all the burn you did should give you a serious hint about it anyway). For that reason alone, its already reason enough to make this video the most educating one. Cheers all!
