Honestly when you're talking about a bike that does a quarter mile in under 11 seconds vs one that does it in 10 does it really matter? I think it would be more dangerous if he'd gotten a liter bike, those are much more aggressive and more likely to pop a wheelie unexpectedly or highside when you overdo the throttle, a busa is about as quick but much more stable and predictable.

$6800 OTD not sure of miles ...but that's entirely too much cash w/ the issues ...the tank is a $250 + ix for a repaint, decals ..if an owner doesn't run a pristine chain, if he or she can't take care of that....then they surely don't maintain the bike properly.....chain seemed good slack wise...wasn't 'clean or sure...this wasn't in ' $6800 condition' for sure.....
You know, I just have to say that busa generation is fucking awesome. I had a CRAZY coworker who owned one and the only memory I have of him riding it was when he was leaving and just immediately dumping the throttle and ripping a power wheelie for about 500ft. What a mad lad.
I love my gen 1 Busa . Very docile ride when kept under 6 thousand rpm ,and then when you want to, you release the Peregrine Falcon and induce tunnel vision warping me back to my 20s. Certainly one of the best bikes I own!
Hey Yammie, so with the lights. I’ve done this before and it is the single easiest and non sketch way to make them flash with music. All you need is a basic knowledge of wiring. Amazon a “12v micro/mini amp” you can find them for like $15-$20. Even if it has a 12v DC adapter plug, just cut the end off and wire it to your aux fuse line you’d install. It’ll be fine I promise. Instead of attaching the lights directing to the speaker and getting the flash ‘unfiltered’, meaning getting it to light up every time the voltage is increased on the speaker, which is what 99% of people do. Attach it to the micro amp. Then you can control whether the lights illuminate from the high vocals of Celine Dion, or from the kick drum of your favorite rock song. Or depending on how you ‘tune’ the amp, both! All about ultimate control. Anyways hope this peaks your interest and helps the busa project down the road!

My old gen 1 was 490lbs bc to 4-1 system, alum subframe, lithium and a few other things. They ain't as heavy as internet sez and unlimited aftermarket from 20yr run and only 1 refresh
Chopper guy me in a few years rolls in on like a 600 pound custom built basically a harley pushing like 150 hp or more. Lots of aluminium. Remove all touring gear. Cut fenders.

The thing with high performance is performance parts have weight. You'll *need* liquid cooling - if you get an Evo anywhere near 100HP it will start overheating even under light use (see 1275cc kit Yammie did on the Iron 800), reinforced internals (pistons, valves, cams, transmission) as well as more rubber are all significant weight gains. Aluminum isn't especially strong, hence why iron blocks prevailed for forced induction applications. The very engine design isn't conducive to high horsepower, being horsepower is essentially a function of torque and RPM. I don't doubt you can get a 600lb Harley, but if you legit think it's anywhere near 150HP, I got a bridge to sell ya.

I was always scared riding a Busa, but always wanted one. After 2 years on my ZX9R i bought one. I regret i didnt buy it sooner. LOVE IT. And it rides like a dream....
I test rode one, it really feels like sitting on a cruise missile. The speed just sneaks up on you it is so smooth. The super duke has more rip your arms out torque, and the Gixxer 1k rips harder up top, but the Busa is just its own unique experience. Also hurry up and slap a turbo on it.
I was a Busa Boi for a few years (no LED's though) and it honestly made me happy every time I rode it. The power is so tractable and it is amazingly nimble given its size. Then you open it up and even two up, the speed is exhilarating and terrifying in equal measure but still pure joy. Possibly my favourite bike I've had so far.
On the fuel injected GSXRs that actually is an idle switch. It’s for warming up the bike. I have that switch on my 2001 GSXR 1000. I was confused myself at first

when I sold my Harley (1200cc sportster), this one guys tried to trade his Busa to me, even came to my house to try and get me to test drive it, even tough I said "No" on the phone earlier. I´m really short guy (164cm/5,3ft). Ended up trading it for Kawasaki z750 at the time. Honda Blackbird was ok to drive, but physically a bit big for me to feel comfortable when not in motion.
When I was buying my ninja 250r I was scared at how big it was and how I was going to ride it home.....then....a Busa boy rolled into the shop and parked next to my bike 😂😂😂 That’s when I knew how stupid I sounded earlier and all the confidence to ride my minute 250 came raining in
I bought a brand new 23 Hayabusa yesterday. even in "C" rain mode, this bike is insane. I only rode home (started raining 1 mile from my house) after 35 miles you feel it in some muscles you just don't use. Interstate at 75mph was cool and chilled out and so smooth, and cruise control was sweet.

Of note - you cannot leave your choke on or you will have to rich of a mixture whereas the idle adjustment lever on a fuel injected motorcycle can in fact be used as ghetto cruise control. No this is probably not safe or a very good idea because it will not lower the rpm when you brake like a real cruise control would but it does work (I have an idle adjustment on my fuel injected 2003 Aprilia Falco)
@@KLAWNINETY it functions the same role of cold start as it would on carbs. For these gxrs, fuel injectors need a richer pressured air fuel ratio on cold start. Gen 1 EFI didn't have automatic fast idle on ECU. That's why many went to aftermarket. It was labeled with choke symbol because it had the same role. Its technical name role is fast idle adjust. Not to be confused with the idle set control knob under the tank. Hope that make sense
@@KLAWNINETY the idle adjustment knob is under the tank on all the generations. Cannot be used as "ghetto cruise control" while riding. Gen 2 does have the ECU pin out break away for cruise control for use with a latching switch and disengage with brake or throttle input.

On the fuel injected GSXRs that actually is an idle switch. It’s for warming up the bike. I have that switch on my 2001 GSXR 1000. I was confused myself at first

when I sold my Harley (1200cc sportster), this one guys tried to trade his Busa to me, even came to my house to try and get me to test drive it, even tough I said "No" on the phone earlier. I´m really short guy (164cm/5,3ft).
Ended up trading it for Kawasaki z750 at the time. Honda Blackbird was ok to drive, but physically a bit big for me to feel comfortable when not in motion.

I bought a brand new 23 Hayabusa yesterday. even in "C" rain mode, this bike is insane. I only rode home (started raining 1 mile from my house) after 35 miles you feel it in some muscles you just don't use. Interstate at 75mph was cool and chilled out and so smooth, and cruise control was sweet.

FYI -- "idle switch" - its called a choke

Its not carbureted so technically its not a choke.
Of note - you cannot leave your choke on or you will have to rich of a mixture whereas the idle adjustment lever on a fuel injected motorcycle can in fact be used as ghetto cruise control. No this is probably not safe or a very good idea because it will not lower the rpm when you brake like a real cruise control would but it does work (I have an idle adjustment on my fuel injected 2003 Aprilia Falco)
@@KLAWNINETY it functions the same role of cold start as it would on carbs. For these gxrs, fuel injectors need a richer pressured air fuel ratio on cold start. Gen 1 EFI didn't have automatic fast idle on ECU. That's why many went to aftermarket.
It was labeled with choke symbol because it had the same role. Its technical name role is fast idle adjust. Not to be confused with the idle set control knob under the tank. Hope that make sense
@@KLAWNINETY the idle adjustment knob is under the tank on all the generations. Cannot be used as "ghetto cruise control" while riding. Gen 2 does have the ECU pin out break away for cruise control for use with a latching switch and disengage with brake or throttle input.
