I demo rode one at bike week, right after riding the GSX-R1000, and a Hayabusa, the GXS-S 1000 was more fun than either of those, and at 110mph it was still planted and felt solid, the seating position was obviously more comfortable, but in the corners I could still hang with street bikes. Truly impressed with this bike.
that yellow light on the dash, that is telling you the traction control system is off. Turn it on and you will be able to do a zero-60 without the bike looping over.
I just bought one of these about two weeks ago but the front fairing edition. Super fun bike constantly find myself speeding though she just wants to get up and go. The gears are super close together so you have power all over. Traction control set on the lowest level make it almost impossible to bring the front end up so dont let all those horses scare you it's a good cheap alternative to a supersport picked up my 2016 with zero miles for $8000
That little windscreen makes the whole bike much better. My friend has one without fairing and we were cruising through Germany. I was in great condition after 1000km and he was exhausted due to fighting the wind.
Still the most overlooked and underrated Japanese sport bike on sale. Insane value for money and the performance is there, but you can tune for even more. I actually prefer the “ugly” 1000F model for several reasons and have wanted one for years. Bought other bikes in the meantime but I’m ready for a real liter bike after riding for 13 years. I’d love to see a minor update with cruise control and the dash from the Katana, but as long as Suzuki keep this bike in production I will be happy and I will buy one.
I'm actually at the dealership waiting on a credit run, decide to look at a review of the gsx s 1000, so I was convinced before I saw this review lol 😂 worth it!!!!
I just test rode one and it has absolutely instant power. Tons of torque from that K5, long stroke motor. And the sound, even with the stock exhaust, is super growly and mean. Quite nimble as well. Probably the ultimate naked in terms of performance. Looks aren't as sexy as what Yamaha and Honda produce, however.
I see some people on here talking about the snatchy throttle on earlier models and Suzuki changing ECU units that eased it somewhat. I own a 2015 model from new. Had asked dealer about this fix a few times but was told nothing was being offered from Suzuki so just lived with it toying with the idea of getting power commander but couldn't justify the expense. So I've lived with it and over the years have got to work around it but still unsettling at times. Then a few weeks ago heard a rumour that if you replaced your throttle grip and cable with the one from the Katana model, it's supposed to remove the snatchiness completely. As it was only going to cost £70 fitted, I thought I'd try it out. As soon as I took bike for test ride I immediately noticed snatchiness had completely disappeared. Different bike altogether now in the twisties and through the town centres. 🏍🏍👌👌
So would that be something you would still need to change on a 2020 model? I know it got a recalibration for 2018 but the Katana is probably still different. I’d love to own the Katana especially for the looks but I want the ergonomics, wind protection, and handling of the 1000F.
I bought a 2016 gsx s1000f and it is my first fuel-injected bike. I really struggled with the (power-on or power-off) snatchy response. Added two products bought on Ebay called G2 Throttle Tamer and 'Power Booster'. . . also installed a Delkavic header exhaust w/Yoshimura Alpha slip-on. . . so had to get a Servo Exhaust valve eliminator (plug and play) also found on Ebay. . . Result? It's a Kitten that will breathe FIRE! You can maintain constant speed much easier and it responds just as well as when it was stock.

Originally it's a pretty tame bike. All gears except 5 is limited. You should try how fun it is without limits. And by the way, they're lying about the horsepower when you put it on a dyno it will be around 165 hp original.
Test rode an MT09, Z900 and GSXS1000 to see which naked was for me and the Suzuki blew them away. What a mean ass bike. Only complaint is the very abrupt throttle response from base rpm. I'd like to get that tuned so no problems in corners.
Suzuki used the 06-08 GSXR 1000 motor, changed the cams to lower the power band but either than that, it's the older Gixxer motor. Back in the 90's, Suzuki used a bunch of GSXR motors and put them in the 2nd gen katana gsxf 750, 116hp!! Then in 93 with the 3rd gen Suzuki used a milder camshaft to do the same thing, lower the power band but end result was 93hp. Good video
I have a 19 Z.. I haven't turned traction control off yet haha. I leave it on 1 or sport (so I'm told). It's the best bike I've ever owned, my only complaint is your butt will hurt after 8 or so hours of straight riding, my other bike has a Corbin seat, it made a huge difference, I'll probably be doing a seat swap on the Z... Eventually
Wacthing this 4yrs later is kind of wild... at the 7:15 mark I'm looking at the red light you're coming up to and realize now there's a sheetz to your right and the Hospital to your left.. Crazy the amount of things they are building in these last few years.
Solid, maybe not sensible ;-) I've had an 2018 F for just over 3 years. It has a ridiculous amount of power and if you are stupid it will kill you. I LOVE every moment of it.
The throttle being a bit hard to control and the tenancy to wheelie. and the ease of getting yourself to a speed where the brakes aren't going to save you make it a bad beginner bike.
This is my 3rd bike I just picked up today I would not get this as a beginner bike it shocked me riding it back home for an hour it’s a monster you’ll be doing 70 like just hit 25 it’s fast
I have 2018 thats even more powerful and the fueling and jerky throttle are finally fixed. Riding the at speed limit smooth as. Take it past 8000rpm and it just goes berserk.
I have a 2016 non abs put a power commander, yoshi slip on, k&n filter the thing is crazy. I went from a gsxr1000 to this, this thing is crazy fast BUT at the same time it's very comfortable to spend the day riding
Lifted_Above I have not, but as is, the bike is mad crazy. When I had my gsxr1000 I always had to go to the highway to have fun we are in Boston so the roads can become congested so when I picked up this bike it was more fun to pull out from the driveway and crack the throttle lol. Then his some back roads for some twisties. When going into boston it's fun at the red lights when it turns green and you launch lol. But I have to say I pulled up to the Suzuki dealer and people come over and check the bike out. I just put on the reflective rim tape it looks like tron at night lol
Lifted_Above The other thing I have to say is the bike tops out and I think 165 or 167 how much faster you need to go? Your friend will get you arrested lol The one thing I had to get adjusted to is the wind on the highway big difference Between the GSXR and the GSXS
Unrestricted (the way I want all bikes to be) it will run 170+. I found a flashed ECU version on video and with a slight downhill slope it was really bookin'. 286 kph=177mph (indicated may be slower than actual, no idea in this clip): czcams.com/video/j7TMRXk_xj8/video.html The K5 GSX-R1000 redlined at 13,500. The GSX-S has steel intake valves instead of the R model's titanium, and 12,100 redline, but can be safely moved to 12,600 without issues.
Had a 1st gen Yamaha fz1.Did some minor mods and got 132rwhp.Tried to race my friends 600 and could not keep the front wheel down. That Suzuki looks like fun.
I have a Suzuki B-King and I have test ridden the GSX-S 1000. Yes the 1000 has brilliant handling with more than enough power but I am still drawn to the outright grunt of the B-King which up until now has still not been surpassed for the absolute fun factor of opening the throttle and watching the world suddenly go by incredibly fast with little effort.
I had a B-King and I've bought the 2018 version of this GSX-S1000. The B-King has more power and torque, sure, but this bike is so much better... The B-Kings weight is just ridiculous.
B-kings looks awesome. It is a shame suzuki discontinued it, especially now seeing those kinds of bikes are top sellers for all manufacturers. If they brought it back, they would sell like crazy I guarantee it.
I have a 2016 F model. It's the same but it has a front fairing. It's still my favorite bike so far. The one you're riding is exhibiting the nasty twitch that is the flaw in pre 2018 models. It's a serious issue in turns. I had to get the ecu flashed which seemed to fix the issue some.
Steven Hutsell I used Schnitz racing. It was around $200 and they had a pretty quick turn around. Their website shows the options and explains everything pretty good. Their flash has also been dyno'd on other GSXS already so it was just plug and play when I got it back.
I just went to Lancaster last week to pick up a ahead hauling trailer from pine hill trailer ... Wish I new your shop was so close...we would have stoped...... Do you have a price on that GSXS1000 ? I'm looking for one
I finally got me one it’s matte gray 2016 had 2854 miles on it and was up on stands In a guys climate controlled garage in mint condition! And I mean perfect to never a bolt turned on it never a drop nothing, dude was small and older but he took excellent care of it! Did the power commander 5 header and straight pipe, high flow air filter, block off plates, air box mod, adjustable shorty levers, all the stickers was removed but it looks good it’s all black and gray and it has all the pucks and spots to Jack the bike up with quick stands already! Has case guards on both sides, the rear pegs are gone though don’t know why he did that but he did say he was gonna do a fender eliminated kit to get rid of that ugly back fender and have a nice tight rear end just smooth! Super nice bike I have put 3k miles on it road it 350 miles home the day I got it! Just put a new set of pirreli Rosso Corsa 2’s front and back! Feels amazing now!
Back in the day when you did useful reviews instead of trying to get that tik tok clout. Anyways, yeah I am looking to get the 2023. Need something comfortable but fun without spending 16 grand or more.
I have an fz1n 2007 with high mileage and looking at one of these as my new bike or aprillia tuono, what would you get if you wanted a super naked , I might look for a mint one around 2011 without all the new electronics
anyway to stop the bike from wheelieing the whole time? wheelies are fun. but most of the time in regular driving i want to keep all wheels on the ground.
go ride an s1000r, trust me makes the gsxs1k feel like a kids toy.. tested out those two, the aprillia tuno, mt09, cb1000r and street triple 765rs in the same day the gsxs was super surprising cause i had low expectations but it was so comfy and cruisy, ended up buying the s1000r because it is just sooo good, the aprillia is faster but its so uncomfortable you might as well just buy a supersport. 3rd gear on the s1k feels like 1st on the gsxs, the 20hp difference might not seem like alot but it feels way more powerful and it is way faster
I own a Suzuki Gladius & love it but wouldn't mind upgrading to this or that GSX-S 1000F. The no fairing version of this bikes seems similar to the gladius but with twice the power. That's gotta be thrilling!
Traction control just stays off lol. Wait my bike auto turns on traction control every start up, why? Because I can break the rear end loose or wheelie too easily. Traction control is a good thing on a 1400.
It'll get you into trouble .... but it's fast enough to get you out of trouble .
David O'Hare haha definitely
I demo rode one at bike week, right after riding the GSX-R1000, and a Hayabusa, the GXS-S 1000 was more fun than either of those, and at 110mph it was still planted and felt solid, the seating position was obviously more comfortable, but in the corners I could still hang with street bikes. This bike is a trouble maker 😛 I ride mine every day, puts a smile on my face every time !!

When you say the “front fairing edition” do you mean the GSX S1000F model?
Your review was part of my decision to buy a 2018 GSXS. No regrets!
Kristin Foster mine too... I just picked up a barely used 2017. She’s a ripper!!!
Hey how have you enjoyed the bike so far? I’ve found one on Facebook.

In Germany my Suzuki get an ECU update from Suzuki. Now it's way better. But I've never had a problem with the trottle.

u do the best bike review...... tell it like it is... wheelie and state the facts whether we like it or not.... keep it up :-)

You clearly did a lot of research on the bike, especially the tire sizes.
I really enjoy your motorvlog reviews. You actually show people how to get a good deals on pristine used motorcycles. For a good price.
Just bought one am im loving it, no tickets yet

Sean how is your friend David doing today ? Thinking of him and his family.
🙏🏻
Its The K5 motor tuned for more low End TQ
Best engine
Had this bike in blue, had to get rid of it when I passed 5 cars sound a wheelie without trying to do so. Did wheelie in every gear of you wanted.
Friends that get me in trouble? My favorite kind!
Well I was about to buy this bike but it’s insurance was super high for me. I had to buy gsx s 750. I pay %80 less for insurance now.
ninetyninecents how much was your insurance
I got an gsx s750 and is way more rider first time friendly. The bike in first gear wont break your neck and is comfortable riding around town.
KeKe Lo I pay 210 dollars for 12 month. Full coverage.

My favorite motorcycle channel honestly
It looks like you live in a really nice neighbourhood❤👌👍 love that bike btw!
Just bought the faired version and it’s a blast even in break in
The Suzuki gsx-s1000 is the baddest katana out
I have a 19 Z.. I haven't turned traction control off yet haha. I leave it on 1 or sport (so I'm told). Did you get one?
I have one in the grey without ABS, I love it. Somewhat reminds me of my old bike a 2001 Suzuki Bandit 1200, but better in some areas.
Ive still got my 2002 bandit 12 .like the looks of the gsx-s
How did the video ended abruptly?

SV650 owner... Would the GSXS 1000 be a sensible and solid upgrade ?!
Solid, maybe not sensible ;-) I've had an 2018 F for just over 3 years. It has a ridiculous amount of power and if you are stupid it will kill you. I LOVE every moment of it.
The new one is even better. Nothing wrong with the 2016 either, though.
My favourite litre inline four. I'm biased, possibly, as I had a B-King for over seven years.
I own a K6 GSX-R1000 and I knew the engine sounded familiar 😌
1:59 Hp but no lbs?
It’s about 450lbs but he got the stats wrong on everything else.
Love your videos, man! Miss the old intro though :(
Could it be a beginner's bike? Like is it forgiving or is it a death sentence by any slight mistake
It really screams with M/4 full exhaust and sprocket change
I love all your videos , you covered pretty much all my favorite motorcycles . Please do a review on a Honda 919 Hornet 🐝 .
I`ve had mine for a year now and i still won`t ride without the TC on 3 when the tarmac is damp or wet
U got me there "Ahhh I don't want u hanging out with that kid he's getting into trouble a lot" 😂 🤣 🤣 🤣
That bike is sick.
I’ll still take the B King over this. I wish they made it for more than just one year
Been riding for 40 years. That bike scares me.
I have 2018 thats even more powerful and the fueling and jerky throttle are finally fixed. Riding the at speed limit smooth as. Take it past 8000rpm and it just goes berserk.
geeman berserk as in unstable??
As in 150+ whp.
@Plugger 😂
Glad to know I'm not the only one who gets tongue tied trying to pronounce this bike's name lmao
I have a 2016 non abs put a power commander, yoshi slip on, k&n filter the thing is crazy. I went from a gsxr1000 to this, this thing is crazy fast BUT at the same time it's very comfortable to spend the day riding
Have you done a sprocket change? 1st gear is goofy tall. The transmission works like butter, but the gear ratios are pretty lame for street use.
Lifted_Above I have not, but as is, the bike is mad crazy. Main thing is you have fun and be safe. Sounds like a bike you'll want to keep a while.

Why'd it take so long to make "Bikes like This" lol Ok! Luv ya Bro!
Dude that is a good looking bike
Can't wait to see you on a new Ninja h2
which place is this?
A more appropriate zuk Vs Yamaha like of thought would be this Vs Fz1
What were you using to film this video?
It was a camera.
Does it have turbo or some?!! I can hear a little thing when you rev
Had a 1st gen Yamaha fz1.Did some minor mods and got 132rwhp.Tried to race my friends 600 and could not keep the front wheel down. That Suzuki looks like fun.
Had a 2nd gen FZ1 with full tuning. Around 150 whp.
I have a Suzuki B-King and I have test ridden the GSX-S 1000. B-kings looks awesome. It is a shame suzuki discontinued it, especially now seeing those kinds of bikes are top sellers for all manufacturers. If they brought it back, they would sell like crazy I guarantee it.
Do you still have this bike?
I have a 2016 F model. It's the same but it has a front fairing. It's still my favorite bike so far. The one you're riding is exhibiting the nasty twitch that is the flaw in pre 2018 models. It's a serious issue in turns. I had to get the ecu flashed which seemed to fix the issue some.
I just bought a '16 F model, as well. Where did you get the ECU flashed? Woolich, FlashTune?
Steven Hutsell I used Schnitz racing. It was around $200 and they had a pretty quick turn around. Their website shows the options and explains everything pretty good. Their flash has also been dyno'd on other GSXS already so it was just plug and play when I got it back.
I like The look of the 750 a lot more but I will probably get one of these instead
Most reviews I've see indicate the 1000 has a significant build quality increase over the 750.
Ok, about the pull the trigger on this soon but deciding between Flashtune and Schnitz. How satisfied are you with Schnitz flash?
That bike is awesome
Can you interchange the GSXR1000 wide tire kits on this bike? I keep seeing mixed reactions on the forums that it shares the swingarm with the GSXR
TomohawkInsanity it already has a wider tire than the gsxr
I just went to Lancaster last week to pick up a ahead hauling trailer from pine hill trailer ... Wish I new your shop was so close...we would have stoped...... Do you have a price on that GSXS1000 ? I'm looking for one

Why are you comparing the GSXS1000 to the FZ07?
Love mine, mine same color, but Full faring.
anyway to stop the bike from wheelieing the whole time? wheelies are fun. but most of the time in regular driving i want to keep all wheels on the ground.
it has anti wheelie, but it's not that crazy anyway
go ride an s1000r, trust me makes the gsxs1k feel like a kids toy.. tested out those two, the aprillia tuno, mt09, cb1000r and street triple 765rs in the same day the gsxs was super surprising cause i had low expectations but it was so comfy and cruisy, ended up buying the s1000r because it is just sooo good, the aprillia is faster but its so uncomfortable you might as well just buy a supersport. 3rd gear on the s1k feels like 1st on the gsxs, the 20hp difference might not seem like alot but it feels way more powerful and it is way faster
I plan to buy it in future
Suzuki The Way Of Life! i REALLY LOVE THE BIKE.
i just sat on one of those today. they are just monstrous, i like it better in blue tho
Im 6'3, how is this bike for a taller rider?
they also make a 750 version of this
They sure do. It is a great bike and great value👍
I own a Suzuki Gladius & love it but wouldn't mind upgrading to this or that GSX-S 1000F. The no fairing version of this bikes seems similar to the gladius but with twice the power. That's gotta be thrilling!
After 30,000 on my 09 gladius I just got a 2023 gsx s 1000 👌
You should do a ride review on the z1000
Love your reviews Brother, keep doing what you do.
I Love my Kawasaki z400
How far away is your shop from Scranton PA?
Suzuki's answer If you always wanted a BKing, but missed the opportunity.
You forgot to start us off with a verse !
Great review m8 ty ;-)
I had one of those as a replacement for my crashed 08 fireblade and yes nice bike but hmmmmmm the fun factor just isn't all there all of the time
This is the engine from the K5 but tuned for more mid to low end grunt!
Suzuki = overall awesome but really bad in marketing /advertisement
Traction control just stays off lol. Wait my bike auto turns on traction control every start up, why? Because I can break the rear end loose or wheelie too easily. Traction control is a good thing on a 1400.
Its a race bike engine in a cat craddle! My Bandit GSF1200 90hp pisses out after 110mph because its not fitted with a contemporary race engine
Go with the newer 1250 Bandit? Dale Walker sure has coaxed a heap of power out of it. About 96 ft-lb torque peak.
This is the bike I’m seriously considering after riding my ‘98 1200 for a few years.
nakedbikes have existed for so long fam, just the us never wanted to sell any there
doesn't the fz07 also have a 180 rear tire?
well
naked bikes > super sport bikes
why didnt you talk about fz10 it's same shit it has r1 engine
Man i can hear the "Whistling of the" "WIND"...
First time I watched a video of yours .
Thumbs up 👍🏿 to the comment “don’t hang out with that kid”
Nice Sean

Just bought a triumph speed triple RS and i.fucking loveeeee it
They lowered the compression ratio and that is about it.
