    Jerky throttle can be fixed with an ECU flash. Send away for about $200. Or get software like Woolich, among others. I got Woolich and the autotune. Installed wideband O2 in aftermarket exhaust. Different bike, especially after you disable the fuel cutoff with the Woolich.

  • @exothermal.sprocket
    @exothermal.sprocket Před 6 lety +6

    Just ECU flash the thing. Throttle fixed. Big power picked up. Runs cooler. No ignition or secondary throttle flies restrictions. Fixed MPH display. Put an exhaust on it, drop weight, better sound.
    One thing Suzuki failed on, imo, is the gear ratios. 1st gear is ridiculously tall. And then 6th gear is too stinking short. Surprisingly it gets best in class mpg while turning 4,200 rpm at 60. But it should be 3,800 rpm at 60 because the engine has plenty of torque and drive to run much wider ratios. Can always fix the low end but the top is already too fast.

    Good day sir. You mentioned the TPS adjustment. I highly recommend it. Throttle is very much improved for me after I did mine. My biggest concern was I had a real hard time holding a nice smooth cornering line as the throttle was always too much or too little. I agreed, the old bike is always throttling control, snatching feeling is a good old bike we loved it not a problem at all ride enough and you know how to control it with muscles memories, but for people who ride a smoother bike and tried out it probably caught off guard and think it too snatchy.
    for me these feeling is something to uphold cuz it gives feedback and it fun that we always have with a very old bike we drove on.
    but i do understand some people will not like it, cuz it a personal preference, that why there are people who like BMW Yamaha Honda Suzuki. just for me, it feels more analog quick respond and it instant. and it a reason why i kind of dislike ride by wired system or Yamaha electric throttle input in R1M cuz it engines power curve is kind of weird since it feel lack of power at low RPM and in a bit the power just came caught me off guard what weird feedback.
    i currently waiting for Katana , but ill buy SV650 for a nice fun ride and getting from places to places close to my home, i just getting tired of driving a car and can't find any parking spot or lots just to buy some equipment of groceries.

    What about gear ratios? 1st is pretty tall, 6th is relatively short. Suzuki didn't change ratios at all from the GSX-R donor bike. It's like once you reach the upper end of 1st, you could shift to 3rd, then to 5th because they are all stacked right on top of each other. Suzuki could take a page out of Ducati or KTM's book and give it wide ratios.
    Also I guess until you ECU flash, the brains of the machine will limit power in 1st through 3rd and cap your top revs power. Common with all OEM bikes.

      JonDotCom7 the Z900 is also an excellent bike, smooth and accessible. There were two things that made me decide in favor of the Suzuki. 1. Riding position. The Suzuki is more upright, comfortable, fit my frame better. 2. Price. There is a notable difference in MSRP but due to dealers as they are I could get the Suzuki for roughly the same as the Kawa. And for that price, the Suzuki is simply more of a bike (better engine, TC, brakes, sound) IMHO.

      Hey thanks! I'm not sure I'd recommend this bike for a beginner due to the snatchy throttle. Jay Brenner for this specific bike, I'd say yes, because akra only makes a slip-on for this bike and it's only $100 less than the full M4 system.

    • @JonDotCom7
      @JonDotCom7  Před 3 lety

      I've ridden the z900 but not the z1000. The looks are subjective, and I prefer the gsxs1000. The 2016 & 2017 models of the gsxs1000 has a snatchy throttle that was fixed by 2018, an issue the z900 does not have. They perform pretty similarly, similar riding position, it's going to come down to what you personally think looks better.

      @@waatlagadenge4516 I would definitely say the gsxs1000 is worth it, I love that bike, still running strong 4+ years later. Maintenance isn't different than any other bike, oil changes and whatnot when you should. Top speed I've personally done on it was 142mph (228kph) because I ran out of road, still had plenty to go.

The other thing is for the people that are considering going from a sport bike to a super naked trust me the people on the sport bike I'm not gonna walk from you in any means.
