When i used to ride with my grandpa (learning and such) he said that you always should wave to three-wheelers, even though they aren't "real bikes". And the reason for that is because that is that they may have gotten injured on a bike or aren't capable of riding 2 wheeled motorcycles and therefore should be respected and noticed by other riders as if they were on 2 wheels :)

3 wheelers are absolutely motorcycles, but only to a point. Anyone who trades a steering wheel and pedals for handlebars and pegs is okay in my book, but the slingshot and the trex sit-in types don't count. Here in Canada they're super popular because it's basically a snowmobile for the road, and I see can-am spyders everywhere.

I've been riding for over 60 years now, and in that time I've raced dirt and ice, been an NMSF Master Instructor, served as an 8Th AF Motorcycle Safety Officer and toured most of the USA and Europe on 2 wheels.
I learned on my Dad's Knuckle, and my first bike was a Basket Case Panhead. Since then I've owned Harley, Indian, Triumph, BSA, JAP, Frances Barnett and even a couple of Hondas. In 2019 my knees got so bad from old Service Injuries I couldn't hold up my Road King anymore. At that point I went to a Can Am Spyder RT, and Love it! It's a wonderful Road Tripper, and would choose it over any of my old 'Glides.
And for the young bucks who like to cop 'Tudes over those of us "Up On Three", you should remember the Old School expression that it's not WHAT you ride, it's THAT you ride, and bear in mind that we may have had to go to 3 to continue riding. BTW, though my wife owns a cage, I still don't, and haven't in years.

These guys know very little about anything motorcycle. They get clicks by catering to the lowest common denominators. They shit on everything “they” don’t like to piss people off. We post comments defending our brands and they make money. If you look at the bigger picture, they offer nothing positive to the community. They have said many times they don’t give a shit or care about what people who watch their channel think or have to say. So thinking they know the difference between Ca-Am and BRP or that they even care is laughable. Hell the data they quoted in this very video is extremely outdated.

I had a chance to ride a Ryker 600 and I gotta say I wasn't disappointed with it. I can see why its popular. Handling is obviously great as it has 3 wheels, easy to ride and it has good power for what it is. My buddy actually ended up buying one because he wanted to come riding with the group but he has MS so he does not have balance and strength to keep himself up so 2 wheels would not end well. Its really is a nice options for disabled people. Power sliding it around corners and the "safe" feeling commuting in rain alone makes it worth it to me. The 900cc is even better IMO

And then I tested the Rally (with a paper bag over my head and no obvious motorcycle gear except the ever present boots and helmet. So now I have my HD Slim AND a Rally. They both please me greatly. Ride in the rain as you please....no chain maintenance, super comfortable seating. You can adjust foot pegs and handle bars easy for your comfort. it is a total honey badger. It don't give an F.

The Can-Am Ryker is super easy to ride, and extremely stable. If you want to ride with someone who's been riding for a long time you can hop on the Ryker and keep up with very little issue. The Ryker is basically cheating. All the fun and very little danger. There's none of that induction into motorcycling where you accidentally loosing balance and slowly laying your brand new Supersport motorcycle on it's plastics while half the cyclists feel your pain, and the other half laugh at you. There's none of that "turning around in the grass" and falling on your face. Braking too hard in the wet and falling on your face. Let's face it if you're not riding a 1940's hard tail, air cooled Harley or Indian with kick start you're not really a motorcyclist anyway. You're just a tourist with fancy gadgets all over your two wheeled car visiting the roads that real motorcyclists ride. The Ryker is not a Motorcycle, It's a scooter. It has a CVT Transmission and single brake just like a Scooter. The best part is when you run out of back roads, or highway to tour and you venture into the city to attend an event or find food; gliding from traffic light to traffic light is effortless. There's no putting your foot down in an oil slick left by some hooptie and falling on your face. The only issue with the Ryker is the height, and trash suspension. The suspension only has two inches of travel, so you feel every imperfection in the road. You are always staring at car bumpers, the old guy who just pulled up next to you in his C8 Vette quietly whispers to himself "Damn that thing is low". If you are one of us ADV Tourist with our traction control, heated seats, and tons of farkles used to being able to tower over most cars in front of us the Ryker is going to be a bit of a shock. The best part of the Ryker is that EVERYONE except "real motorcyclists" think the Ryker is amazing. Your motorcycle friends gave you a hard time about buying a three wheeled motorcycle, they all told you it's ugly, and horrible. Everyone else just showers you with compliments about your Ryker. Little kids point at you with their jaws on the ground while you ride by, teens say "OMG, That is fire", older more civilized ladies will tell you they like your Ryker, and you can see this gleam in their eyes that says "I was a hell raiser when I was younger". After months of people telling you they like your bike, you come to the realization that "Real Motorcyclists" are wrong, the Ryker is a real motorcycle. Maybe they're just upset because they think you are a cheater on your three wheeled motorcycle?

Long story short, I had a kinda like/hate relationship for the first 5-6000 miles. Wanted to toss it in the bin but at $30,000 I thought better of it. After 6000 miles things started to change. It started putting a smile on my face. At 12,000 miles you couldn't pry it away from me with an AR-15. The problem with these is that most people give up on them too early, they never learn what they have, what these machines are capable of. I will always own and ride a Can AM, maybe an F3S next time, but I'll never be without one because they are an insanely fun vehicle to ride or better stated, Command. My city in Australia has sweeping hills surrounding the entire SE to NE side so larger sports tourers and Harleys are popular but in a really urban city like Melbourne on the other side of the nation that has fairly flat terrain and a massive population, the bikes are all small capacity for commuting.

(And again, our city salts our roads to excess, even my miata skids around on the stuff).
Those are the basic reasons why I'm going for a Ryker 900, unless I REALLY love the feeling of riding the bike in the beginner's course. I really want to zip around on something in the open-air, but safety and road conditions are an issue for me (plus, I have an inherent love for drifting, and the Rykers can drift...)

It is. I'm on my second year w one and ppl still stop and ask me about it daily. Goes 155km/h so I can still overtake on the highway and beat everyone off the line. I mostly ride around town and fill it for $12 Canadian

@@knightrider693 I've been tempted myself. For the last 4 years I haven't ridden a geared bike, I've had scooters for my Deliveroo job. For long days in city traffic, I want the ease of twist & go - although I almost crashed once when the throttle stuck open and I didn't have a clutch lever to pull in. Also in winter when hands are freezing, I didn't want numb fingers working the clutch, making me worried about stalling.
Now that is only my 2nd job and I am considering a geared bike. The power output and weight of the bike makes me think it'll be as close to the old 125cc 2-stroke race rep bikes. Except this will be comfier and possibly more of a hooligan just by being upright and not having weight leaning over the front. I am tempted but probably want a bigger bike for going longer runs occasionally.
