  • Wondering what it costs to live in AMERICAN SAMOA?
Another in our series of COST OF LIVING videos, we're bringing you around the island of Tutuila, to show you a variety of places to shop for clothes, as well as other basic needs. While this is not an exhaustive list of shopping locations, it's a realistic look at what you can find on-island and how much you can expect to spend.
For more videos like this, make sure to check our other cost-of-living videos:
    • GROCERY SHOPPING | COS...
    • TRANSPORTATION in AMER...
As always, thank you for watching. We wouldn't be here, making these videos, if it wasn't for you. We love reading your comments and we try our best to respond to them all.

New subscriber here! Great job with the videos you guys! What I love about your family is the Respect you show towards Samoan culture and your honest attempt to understand the cultural norms and traditions and to Not offend the local people. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Too often, Palagi people come to American Samoa either from the cruise ships or by plane, walk around our Homeland and Feel ENTITLED to do whatever they like such as picking fruits off of trees on Family Lands without any Forethought or Consideration for families who own the lands, etc. It is truly Disrespectful and annoying. But your family is such Good ambassadors and seem like Awesome folks. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and especially Respecting our Culture. Blessings😊

My favorite place to shop for clothes is called Niu2You. It's a thrift store, but I find nice things every time I shop there. I'd also add that Samoans are very laid back and casual. Tshirts and shorts are worn off work by many.
Do not bring any heels or dress shoes if you move here. You'll never wear them. Flip flops or sandals for men and women is the norm (even in the courtroom flip flops are ok!).

Good to see Forsgren has expanded their variety of products and space of having a 2nd floor. Back in 2010 when we lived there they only had 1st floor level. In Hawaii where we live now they have 2 locations one in Pearlridge and another at Ward ( Ohana Hale Market Place) we love to shop here because of the quality and pricing, if you are lucky you might run into Cindy and Aaron Forsgren at one of these locations. We was wondering if Koko Bean Cafe is still there at Laufou next to Blue Sky? We loved having lunch at this place when we use to live there. Thank you for your videos. However, I do not think I could live there. Mostly because of how strong religion is there and how many of the “laws” are religious based. Being that I do not practice religion or believe in any deities, I probably would not fit in too well.

Certain types of fresh produce, like berries, peaches, nectarines, spinach... These are rarely found here and when they are, they’ve been air freighted, so they’re very expensive. Also, really good pizza. We have good pizza on-island, but it’s been awhile since we’ve had really good, brick oven NY style pizza... Okay, I need to stop. 🤤😂

I do like your content but have some constructive criticism. Put some time into working on your video skills. Your pans and zooms are way too fast and your calm shots are very shaky. I get sea sick watching. Less is more.
