I came back to this video just to comment. We want more! My family have really enjoyed learning about American Samoa by following your channel. You haven't put up anything new in awhile so I thought I would throw out a video suggestion (if inspiration is the hold up), I would love to see you express more of the local culture. Interview some of the locals and tell their stories, or tell some of the local folk lore, maybe some island history, even the basics like island topography, weather, or relation to the USA. Hope all is well and we send prayers for your success.

Someone who lives on the island said they haven’t seen anyone on tree boat everytime they pass it and they haven’t seen them on the island. At all and usually they see them all the time

I just wanted to let y'all know, I've finally settled on a date to move to American Samoa! I'm going to be living in Vailoatai! Moving in September! In just a few days, I'll be eligible for a Talofa Pass! I'm incredibly excited!
@Supa Dupa I've been told to stay away from the water at Vailoatai until locals can teach me how to be safe there. Thank you for your concern. Any other advice?
@Supa Dupa My plan was to get a spray bottle of ammonia and cayenne pepper. Keep the dogs away with horrible smell.

Its great you live a minimalist life which I found myself, it can be very satisfying. I used to have my own apartment here in Sydney with so many things that I didnt need including my car and clothes shoes etc......I have since sold them all and gave away things and moved to a nice shared flat on the beach. I just didnt need all those things. I have since been aware of this movement and so many people are doing it now. So if I move, its just me and one bag of clothes and my laptop and guitar. Done. Its good for the Planet too and self discovery.
The boat is perfect...... Do you sail around at all? must be nice to just get up and go to the nearby islands. Thats freedom living.
Yes, that sounds awesome! We hope our kids continue to embrace it as they grow up. We haven’t been able to take the boat to any other islands yet because of COVID, but it seems like we’re getting closer to being able to 🤞

Would be so cool to just follow along on a normal day for you guys. Like a few cams placed throughout the boat and maybe a cam (gopro) following you as you go about travelling about Samoa. Just like sitying on your shoulders listening in on the breeze, conversations and so on. You ignoring us like cams wasnt even there.

Love your videos! You guys should try visit Aunu'u! It's really beautiful, especially the ocean and there are a lot of sightseeing here in Sina and Tigilau, the quicksand, the Red Lake and the "tea kettle"...

The first rule of sailing or any water activity is swimming. When $h!t happens to go wrong out there...yall ain't walking back.😎 Awesome job with all the repairs and upgrades refitting her so far. I'm pretty sure, by the end of the year, your maritime ligo will be ready for sea. When you do set sail, be mindful; that land is a navigational hazard. Don't run aground .😉

Love it! Thank you for sharing. It’s hard for us land lubbers to picture how a family of five can cram into that little shell. Just efficient use of every square inch, and paring done to bare essentials. But glad you kept the sea turtle - it’s awesome. The lovely thing is that the boat looks solid and seaworthy stem to stern. I know the finishing work seems endless, but what you’ve done is beautiful, and bit by bit it will all get done. You guys are amazing!
That’s the idea 😊 and yes, the boat was very solidly built and still seaworthy. There was definitely a transition period at first, but now it just feels like home.

Poop Deck - “The name originates from the French word for stern, la poupe, from Latin puppis. Thus the poop deck is technically a stern deck, which in sailing ships was usually elevated as the roof of the stern or “after” cabin, also known as the “poop cabin”. Now I'm not sure if it's called a " Boom or Spar ". Thanks for sharing..

When you wear a small amount of makeup like today smile etc you look very similar to some pictures of Julie Andrew’s when she was younger. In the late 60’s. I had to go look her up and sure enough when you both smile the same and look like you could be related. I just had to mention that because as I was watching you talk I kept thinking “She actually looks like someone…who is it she reminds me of?” 😁👍🌷

Hi AmSamFam! I know you guys have been living there now for a few years, but are you still enjoying it? I only ask as I lived there for ten years and left in 1986. I'd actually thinking of moving back, as nothing else feels like home... Just wondering!
I don't know if you guys are still doing CZcams, but I thought I'd offer a suggestion. Find a small one or two man sailboat (12 - 14 ft) and learn sailing basics with that instead of trying to learn on a bigger boat. You'll get good really quick and you can't really hurt anything.

Someone recently this week said that they haven t seen them on the island and they pass their boat all the time and haven’t see. Anyone one it ! Which is strange to me ! They worked so hard on it and also said they have seen the mom who is usually in town a lot at all ,

Apparently they said the locals see them a lot in the town and stuff and no one has seen them and everytime they pass their boat no one is on it ! I hope someone on the island who knows of them checks to see if anyone has seen them …. I mean I’m sure if they weren’t communicating to family something would be done , but I do find it strange how they left with nothing , but we’re so excited about doing videos and then they disappeared
