Shout out to Chris for the great tune I got on my M109R. It has really transformed the bike....no more abrupt, on/off throttle response, erratic RPM's and poor power curve characteristics. It's also cool to know that the top speed limiter has been removed although I will never ride the bike to its full potential. The turn around was also awesome....I mailed it on Wednesday, he received it on Thursday and completed the work and got it to USPS on the same day. USPS delivered it back to me on Saturday. Great job!
Great vid! Just shows how 'flashing' is not just about HP gains and how, pretty much, any and every motorcycle would benefit from a quality tune/flash.

It is so worth the money the bike is so much smoother at cruise and pulls all the way to redline I had some questions and called the number I got some lady who was very knowledgeable and very polite she answered all my questions great customer service I recommend this to anyone who has a fuel injected bike

Amazing example of how peak HP gains aren’t always the be all end all, simple tune gained 10HP in the meat of the rpm range, that’s real world gains right there.

I have this exact color and it's one of my favorite things about my 109. Mine has a white stripe than black though and to my understanding is the "limited" paint scheme.
I had an 08 m109r and had it tuned...made 122 hp and 120 ft lbs of torque with power commander and what a difference in ridebility and throttle response was extremely smooth.
That is a badass bike man. These have definitely been one of my favorite cruisers since I was a kid. It's like a Hayabusa knocked up a Harley lol

My dad bought an M109R back in 2007 brand new. I still ride it every so often today, but its heavy. It has so much pull it feels like its gonna rip your shoulders right off compared to my 60ftlb and 130 hp 750. When you give this thing the beans, it moves
I love the big boss. Such an underrated bike. Hopefully they still make them when I can afford one new.
That's why I bought one cause they have been making them from 2006-2022... I think in 2010 they improved the clutch but aside from that only color schemes have changed. You don't need a new one bro, like all brand new vehicles you lose money as soon as you buy it... look for one that is a great deal and hasn't been beat on... In May I sold my 07' CBR1000RR and bought a 2020 M109R... too old and fat for a sportbike, lol. After 10 min my neck would be killing me, and after 45min my legs were in pain! Took some getting used to but now it's nice to go for a longer ride and maybe my butt will be getting a little numb but that's it, pain free, lol.

Same happened to me...busted knee; I went with the X Diavel S. There are not many high powered, foot forward bikes out there, however I see this trend continuing and we should have more selection in a few more years.
Own one of these and def a tune is needed , stock and especially if modified.Good vid!

I had a 2011 M109R. great bike and during the time it was a known issue that you could do an exhaust on the bike and be alright, but if you did an intake as well you had to have it tuned properly. Road a friends who had the intake and exhaust done and re-tuned and man was that a major wake up call over my bike with just an exhaust. Im on the fence about getting another m109r as they are great bikes and handle very well for a big cruise that youll scrapping the frame in no time in the turns. The bike just wants to go! Thanks for video and ill be giving you a call if/when i get another 109r!

Great video. I had an older cruiser (Marauder 800) which I always suspected was running lean due to the straight thru pipes and pops/bangs - obviously different to the M109R (carbs etc) but watching this video, the principle seems to be the same.

Chris flashed my 2021 M109r with freedom exhaust it runs flawlessly now. I sent my ECU from Manitoba Canada on a Thursday had it back on Monday. Super easy to deal with eh! Great job Chris 🍻

@@target1967 I think it was $280 us with return shipping. I paid over night air $120 Canadian to send it down. All said and done I think I paid $450 Canadian to my door. Well worth it bike rides smooth now more power runs cooler and no speed limiter lol

When I read 'Disaster' and 'Dyno' in one go I immediately thought there was gonna be some huge catastrophic explosion on the dyno whilst testing. Like border lining on a nuclear explosion.

I've not made the switch to the cruisers yet....I still like my mid 150HP high torque Naked's but if I was to slow down and get a cruiser that's the one I would get....good looking bike brother for sure!!!! ECU flashes make your bike feel like you got a new one.

Interesting. My 2003 carbureted Yamaha V Star 1100 did the same thing after intake, exhaust, ignition and cam mods. It would accelerate and decelerate fine, but, didn't want to cruise. Some carutetor tweaks cured it. Of course, my V Star is a far less sophisticated machine than the M109, but, a similar basic air/fuel problem.

Not the same bike, I have a 2017 Yamaha bolt r spec that I bought new in 2017.
Getting my bikes ecu flashed was by far the best mod I did. Sounds crisp and tight, the on off throttle bucking is completely gone, air temps dropped etc.
Get your bike flashed and never look back!

Lol I don’t know any M109 owner who cruises at 45-50 mph. That said the only flaw in my 109 is it doesn’t have a 6th gear. However rolling on the power with a custom exhaust in a tunnel in 3rd gear is the BEST!

I’m trying to get a hold of someone at your shop so I can mail it to you guys after seeing the customers reaction I definitely want to do the same to mine. Thank you very much.
Now I thought everybody knew that if you upgrade pipes and intake you have to adjust the fuel . a Fuel Management system, power commander or anything similar, would take care of the problem. Not necessary to send it in to have it reflashed.
Mine did that shutter couldn’t dump it fast enough, stock exhaust and all.

Hi Chris, have you seen any 2022 Hayabusa's with the starting issues? Mine is dragging the starter when hot like a dead battery.
I had a tune done on mine. It made 131 hp with Freedom pipes and Spike Air Cleaners
ECU filter & pipes 131 is more what I would expect out of the hailed M109R. Short stroke pulling over 7k. Used to be the bad ass of cruiser V twins. My mild warranty HD build 114ci M8 softail did 116 HP at 5,800. I bet there is some 109s out their that do 150 HP on pump gas.
Mine did almost the same hp (130) with dumpipes and open airfilters...this tune is not impressive at all....

do those bikes have an air pump for the emmisions would that give you a false lean until you disable the pump just curious
It must have had pretty lazy ignition timing to let it run so lean without pinging? Do those ecus have knock sensors to pull timing?

Now that you are burning more fuel do you need to upgrade the cooling system so that it does not overheat in traffic.
