I dont know about you guys, but for us mechanics here in Germany the OCC was basically a comedy show on how to not build things. Its like watching bear grylls and expect to be a survivialist afterwards. Really you watch it because of how ridiculous it is.
I remember one time when they built a military bike and one of them walked around with a box of random military gear that he started welding to where ever there was space on the bike. Absolut prime humor.
@@MotoDonuts I still liked the show. And you could learn something from it. There were some talented builders and some up to date technology in it. But as a concept, their bikes were mostly a joke. I believe they were fully aware of that though.
@@MotoDonuts Not to mention the biggest losers who paid stupid amounts for those trash bikes.
Oh yeah, its wild that someone would actually pay pay for one of these
Good luck with European Union mandates. I will be riding American Iron a long time while you ride electric Barbie scooters ...have fun ..
@@peteraugust5295definitely had some skilled fabricators on the team! As far as welding random stuff on I’m with you.. it was for tv.
You gotta sell it back to your neighbor, he seemed stoked having it back
Make money on the video get it running fool around for a week and then sell it to the neighbor , make lots more money this way
Came here to say that too. Once the video is made, running, ridden, dyno, sell it to him. It obviously means probably more to him than anyone other than the original owner. Seems like a cool guy to have around the channel too!
We all know it was meant to be. That neighbour is meant to have that bike after this video. Praise god, and his son that was sent to save us all
Edit: grammar/spelling
I would ask him for some help at least ...😊
Yes sell it to the dude. He seems cool.
that dude deserves the bike. so humble and full of insights.
OCC is a joke - right?
You'd never ride one of those death traps! Only a fool would ever do so.
That your neighbor built part of this bike, is off the hook, CRAZY!!! I thought it was another one of your gags, until he started talking about it. WOW.
I could not agree more, Talk about luck. His neighbor saved him time and gave him valuable info.
Plus new bike friend. Am I right?
What a Wild World. This whole video was very interesting and fun.
its scripted
I still think it was very well staged, the video of it being previously ridden almost looked real.

@@James-zh4eo @GamingInfested How do you guys know? This is what I though at first, But he's not really the type of guy to make things up. He seems to be a God fearing man and truthful. IDK? maybe I need to watch this channel more. :-)
I had a buddy get a nice inheritance in 06, he ordered a bike from OCC, they said 8 months but took them 2 years...When he did get the bike It didn't make it 50 miles down the road. Then when he called to complain they ghosted him. He then had the bike towed mack to their shop they trespassed him immediately. Cops showed up and told my buddy they come out once a week for this very thing. "They sell a bike that doesn't run, person brings it back and they trespass them". He sued and they paid him extra for a NDA.
Probably BS
I’ve read a few stories similar to that from BBB claims
They can't be that bad, The engines aren't even built there, They just do the body
OCC wasn't really about bikes it was about selling advertising. A company like GEICO has a bike built for a 100k + and they got millions of views from the show. It was the cheapest advertising you could buy and it was genius on both OCCs part and GEICOs. Too bad OCCs bikes weren't as nicely built to run as they were cosmetically.

I used to watch OCC with my dad years ago. He was a disabled Vietnam Vet, and he loved the POW-MIA bike. I bought him the dvd of that episode and bought him the small scale model of that bike.

and those watches sold for around $2,400.. so he basically got 25% of his money back from just the watch
@@EddieMitz it’s an Edox, not a Rolex 😂
Hell, the trailer alone is probably $3500 give/take so the bike itself is basically $6000 down ridiculously from the $100k that it originally sold from OCC for. OCC and the chopper craze was such a huge joke to serious riders.
And the watch. He got a deal on all that.
A hardtail and a solid tube steel seat? Whoever designed this bike has something against buttocks and spines.
Race bike, It has a seat? Wow! so much luxury! :-)
But for real. Imagine doing a burnout on that thing, It would throw rubber all over your back and head.
Kind of like the old Greeves or Harleys, with oil on your back and in your hair.
Its just a piece of art man... they didnt build bikes to be ridden

A Las Vegas casino is suing OCC after a patron won the bike, then a few months later the engine fell off the frame and caused injuries. The patron sued the casino and won, and now the casino is suing OCC.
Sadly, companies getting sued is hardly an indictment of their liability anymore, especially in the US. People sue for all sorts and win, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. It's a pathetic culture. However, I suspect it's probably justified in this circumstance...
@@cameronslater1857 Jay Leno even trashed out OCC on his CZcams channel.

I was a young engineer when that show was on and I quickly took notice to how the OCC used to just build up the bikes based on looks alone, without any thought to ergonomics or whether it would be safe for the rider to be taking on an extended trip. Then I realized those bikes really were intended to be show pieces and not really taken out ever.
its like that with most tuners too like my brother works on many tuned cars most of them are trailer princesses
It was an hour long advertisement...those companies would have taken a signed wheel home ..theybdidnt care about getting a running motorcycle or a safe one

Yup they're basically made to ride around on a trailer and pushed out at shows to prove how cool you are lol
Not entirely. They were bar crawlers, meant to drive 10-20 mile round trip in town and show off.
when my 1984 Honda vf500c wouldn't start without carb clean, and i removed the fuel pump and called the local Honda dealer and they said it doesn't have a fuel pump, and i bench tested it and it just smoked in my hand and its bad; they said it doesn't have a fuel pump and there is no listing for it. I bought an Edelbrock electric fed gravity pump and plumbed it up and it works just like the old one, and you can hear if its running or not with the key on.

I had a similar experience. I bought a Modified 1975 Porsche 914 from a random dealer in Oregon. A few months later I was at a random gas station in California and met the initial owner that did the modifications. He told me all about the car and knew exactly everything about the car that only he would know.
Moments like those are interesting...
Something happened to me like that too. I traded in my Evo X to a Honda dealership. Then they sold it about 2 weeks later. I had wheels that were on the car that I couldn't use anymore. @@Lurch-Bot The watch could maybe be worth around $800? The watch itself is an ordinary quartz trinket.
The watch was what made it worth the ten grand.
How lucky you are to have the guy who built it next door. I have loved the Orange county chopper show for years, but I didn't think half are rideable with the things that was built. My favorite OCC build was the Baskin Robbins, with its ice cream sandwich foot pegs, waffle cone hand grips, ice cream scoop shifter and the colorful sprinkles all over the sheet metal. That Paul Sr was a visionary.
It has every other bike licked?
It probably lasted as long as an ice cream cone on a hot day!
HEy Sean when you saw the gum in the fuel lines, that is from C16 fuel all the injectors will be gummed up with that exact same stuff thats why the injector hose blew because the injector is fully clogged with C16. you can never leave C16 for any amount of time. it should be drained if you dont plan on using the bike for even a few days its that volatile
I would take the tank off. clean it out make sure no gum got in the new fuel pump. then take off the fuel rail that will need cleaning and depending how the injection is set up will either have some hose to the injector or it will go straight into the manifold. clean head to tank mate
Damn good find. how cool was that guy seeing his baby again. he obv loved that bike. and everytime you build big project bikes you leave parts of you in that bike. im sure hed love it back once you are done. or at the minim let him ride it and come visit
ya pretty much any fuel will do that c16 the worst
Yeah that's not the fuel lines gumming up, that's everything fuel related gumming up with that fuel jelly haha
Yep as soon as you see that level of gum... you gotta replace everything fuel touches and clean out the tank. Should have been the plan from the beginning to be honest... but this kinda shows his level of experience with starting up old junk. Anyone that's pulled something old back from storage/barns/fields that wants to get it running has a pretty similar check list. That's nearly the top item.
Yeah as soon as I saw the line I was thinking maybe the entire engine needs a flush
I can only think this was for content? Like its pretty obvious everything to do with the fuel system is bad, so why keep trying to crank it when there is way more du-dilegence required?
The best thing to come out of OCC was that one meme.

Fuel injectors would definitely need unblocking after years of bad fuel in them. I have used a 9v battery to activate and free up stuck injectors before. Works like a charm.
Dont understand why they didnt do that immediatly after seeing the fuel line. You already know everything that touched fuel is potentially fucked.
I fell in love with the Bobber in the background.....Gorgeous bike.

Hoses , filters , pump , injectors . Honestly i would not trust those clutch lines either .

EXACTLY, parts of the hose are throughout the fuel system, they basically MELT...🫣
The injectors are plugged up for sure
Ethanol?
@@mrmagoo916 no, this damage is from fuel left in the lines. Over time it breaks down and starts eating the rubber. Turns into a black slugde, clogs filters, injectors, carb jets. It's nasty stuff.
Ethanol will do that as well, but it is far more likely to oxidize anything metal it touches since it pulls moisture from the air

I know an acquaintance that lost a sizable drag racing sponsorship to a company that had a custom bike built for the TV show fairly early on, and he they were up front about how they were trying to widen their brand, so their advertising was going to try something different, plus there was no animosity apparent between them, so I tend to believe it .

Never buy anything Paul Jr. Had a hand in building. Theme bikes are trailer queens and made for display only.
Yea, real mechanics know to drain fuel system. Check for dry rot hoses, check for rust in the tank, pull injectors and make sure their clear and change filter. Then put new fuel in and run fuel pump to see fuel coming out at the fuel rail. Know for sure it's ok, then if it don't start, only thing left is spark. Which is the other thing to check. Pull plugs, replace wires due to dry rot, then try to fire it up.

As Jeremy Clarkson famously said.... hand-built is a fancy way of saying that the door would fall off. But OCC and his car-butchering counterparts took it a whole new level.
Rolls Royce is hand built. It's not always true about being less quality work.
This only shows how incompetent on driving people with driver's license are. It doesn't take in depth or even rudimentary knowledge on mechanics to realise that for example in this bike, the front for suspension has no chance of working at this angle it was put on.

I was stationed at the ANG base right on the other side of the fence from the new OCC facility for several years. When they had their 15 minutes, they went big. The facility was nice. Had their show bikes on display, a merch shop, a couple bowling lanes, and a bar and grill. 6 or 7 years ago, they sold the building and rented it back from the new owners. When I left in 2022, the building was abandoned and had a for sale sign in front of it. Not much of a market for 6-figure bikes that are barely rideable I guess.

That watch is no joke - Edox is a Swiss Watch brand over 100 years old. The translation is Master Watchmaker Les Genevez (where the company is based) since 1884. Not a bad grab to be included in the 10K as that watch could easilly cost 2-4K by itself.
Hey Bikes and Beards...jaf here from the Philippines big fan of your work... Y'all have an awesome year!
This is awesome you found the one guy who knows so much about it. keep up the fun vids cheers.
I swear you make the 3 person that has worked on this occ bike I do hope that you get to RIDE THIS BIKE
Gotta pay that man for saving you a ton of work and making the video super unique.
I was half expecting it to be cursed object, such that once it was in the shop getting serviced, everybody might start getting confrontational and throwing chairs around.
Exactly!!! 😆😆😆👍👍👍👍😆😆😆😆
This comment wins the day 😂
When OCC was on TV, they didn't even build their own frames. They had a custom builder make them. That's why you never saw them welding up a frame.
Yep,the basic models, they bought all the parts in bulk and then just bolted them together for ridiculous money.
@@davehoward22 At least later, when the company had a large headquarters, the frames of the custom bikes were manufactured in-house.
reminds me of a "custom drum shop" in my area that doesn't even make their own drum shells. Just paints the shells and attaches hardware... Quite a big following as well.
Probably bought the frames from Jireh...
I've actually done security guarding that, and several other race boats at the Shootout at lake of the Ozarks. Very cool miniature!
Hell of a comfortable looking seat! 😉
The first bike I rebuilt, was a 1973 cb750 sohc from a military guy in Virginia. After 10 years I sold it on ebay to a guy in Florida. By CHANCE! Sold it to the son of the guy I bought it from.
fawk! that's a serious synchronicity!
same stock look ? his son probably on the look out for the same bike , lol
What a trip
NOOOO! Gotta see the finale, lol. What a wild story. The guy next door, the gifts included in the trailer, the problems, lol. I half expected the box to hold another fuel pump, lol. Looking forward to the next installment. God bless!
I thought that too -- a box of random parts from the previous guy who tried to get it running 🤣
I’m not into motorcycles but this is fascinating stuff.
The watch is an Edox CO-1. It's a quartz watch with a one off face. Being quartz (versus mechanical), it's cheap crap. It'd be considered a cheap novelty watch. I'm a watch guy. Nice trailer, though.
The company I worked for spent $400,000 for a Orange County Chopper advertising package. It was not worth it. We got a nice looking bike that wasn't even street legal. A few T-shirts, and 45 seconds on the program. We also gave them custom build spraybooth. We were promised advertising about our facility. When we complained we were told that OCC didn't have control of the program.. We spend a years worth of advertising for 45 seconds of them presenting the bike to our owner.
Sounds like your boss is a gullible guy 😆
Didn't he at least watch one episode? Everybody knows this was all a scam
@@h.g.buddneI don't disagree. I finally quit that business even though I was the only electrical designer and programmer. Later he hired a young guy that restructured our pricing and company model and things went down fast. He wound up alienating our biggest customer.
On discovery channel? You got a good deal. Not a commercial, but a 45 second spot on a mainstream tv show? That’s great advertisement. No offense but you got your moneys worth.
@@kregadeth5562I don't agree. It's not even a tiny bit of what we were promised. The only mention of the company I worked for was them presenting the bike to the owner. Not a thing about the company itself or the custom spray booth we built for OCC. They originally told us they would include shots of them using the spray booth to paint the bike. We erected the booth in our shop and they filmed the painting. Then we moved the booth to their shop. Not one second of any of this was shown. We paid $400,000 and the bike was crap.
No wonder OCC has been hemorrhaging money and selling stuff for years.
What a treat waking up to coffee and this video...I got to tell ya I'm really enjoying your channel.. great job 👍
I like your new digs. Nice
You should do a video on showing your bike collection
I would rather have the boat instead of the bike..
I'm still wondering what model it is!!!! I've never seen them that big unless there the jet powered turbine engines
@@hiajoonblitz8334right but looks like it’s just a model hull for display.
I wonder why it's so heavy though.@@lukekroll101
@@hiajoonblitz8334 The full size boat was a 50 foot mystic running twin Lycoming turbines. Made 4200 up.
I hope it's remote control
I clicked on this thinking it wasn't going to be worth my time that it was just going to be some stupid thing.
Then BAM!!! When the next door dude pops in saying he built it and told you EVERYTHING ... I WAS HOOKED!! INTRIGUING ASF!!!
I was totally BLOWN AWAY!!!
SWEET ASF VIDEO!!!!!
I use to watch OCC often. Obviously I missed this episode on this particular chopper.
You got a steal deal there👌🙂👍 great video!
Best b&b episode by far!
No, Paul Sr got the steal!! 😊
I have a picture of this bike from years ago (I saw some guy riding it) at the Square Grouper in Jupiter Fl.
And you needed a keychain to keep the bike running?! 😅😅😅😅 Great work, Paul Sr/Jr.
Jay Leno and a guest (can’t remember who), both have OCC’s and bashed just how shitty they are. They’re made so cheaply and just thrown together. The one example had everything electrically important, wired with the rear taillight.
I highly doubt that what I watch Paul Jr design and build is cheap let alone not done well... are the worth 150k no but they are Def not made cheap
Paul Snr made a CZcams video responding to Jay Leno's allegations.
Living in Finland , Even I heard Jay Leno Trash the bike custom built for him.
They’re show bikes. Duh. You didn’t realize that ??
@orangemanbad well that's not what Leno said. He paid for a custom bike, so he could ride it. That's not some Corporate Show bike as in this clip or for eg. The Gillette bike. Those are show bikes. And don't they show the bikes being riden by the Orange CC show people?
The fact that your neighbor worked on the bike was really cool! Great video looking forward to part 2!
Love this guy
Small World. 😂 Loved This Video. 👍
You beleive in synchronicity you got the bike and the builder on the same spot , that is a gift . Good luck with the project that make a good show 🏁
... good comment - fully agree
