- How to remove old bathroom ceramics: Towel bar and toilet paper holders.
We have had a lot of interest in our last couple videos where we patched the holes after they were removed and were asked how to remove them. Well, we finally got the video!
In this video we will show you just how easy it is to remove. After watching, go over to the 2 videos of how we patch them up so you can put new, updated ones on.

I am tackling my first diy with a small bathroom in my home. CZcams university is teaching me so well! Lol! I am about to go remove all of mine right NOW! I planned ahead and have a complete list of all that I need and have everything ready. I am even going to replace the toilet! Super excited! I’ll call reinforcements if need be. I CAN DO IT! Thanks for this video! I feel extra inspired now 👍🏾👍🏾
Unfortunately, most of these in older homes are set in tile.
Exactly! That's my problem I don't think this method will work on tiles? Without breaking the tiles. ?
Any suggestion on such? This is what we have and in one bathroom the soap rest is broken over sink and inset in wall over tub.
Same here, I just want the bar off. I don't care about the rest
Yes same situation here. Never even seen a tile one in dry wall.
Like mine. 😢
Well... that looks easier than I though it would be!! Thanks Justin! ♥
That’s exactly what I needed to see. Thanks!
Short and sweet thanks Guys!
Ohhhhh ty ty ty!!!! I was thinking this would be hard to get off the wall!!! I will be doing this ASAP
This was the first video that popped up! Thank you! Thank you! So much easier than I thought. 😂
Helpful. Thx
OMG I just became a real DIYer. That worked!!!
Thanks for the visual. Wanted to know what I was getting into before i started tearing things out of the wall.
thank you
Awesome
How do we go about doing this on a tiled wall?
Mine are glued on to the ceramic tile wall. I’d like to be able to remove them without breaking the ceramic tile. Is that possible? Is there anything to losen up the glue before attempting to take them off?😊
I love how there is no response to this question!!? I'm in the same situation.
cut around the soap dish or whatever your removing ..its either caulk or grout and then careful pry it off
Now how do you patch?
How about if they are glued onto new tile
The bar was put in a bad spot
Mine are on tile. Is there tile behind or will I find a hole?
Good to know thanks! I’m confused about the “ceramics” part of the title though. I thought it was about removing them from ceramic tiles
what he removed from the wall are made of ceramic
Ok but my is on a tile wall. Is it still safe to remove?
That’s a different story. You have to patch it or there will be a hole in it and can’t patch with drywall because of the tile around it.
I want to keep mine but the metal bar is rusted and has to be replaced
What do you do if it’s glued onto tile?
Cry
How do you remove them when they are attached to ceramic tile?
It’s impossible to fix the hole without taking the tile off.
@@finaltouchdrywall I have the same issue. I just want to remove them from the ceramic wall tile. Can the be grinded off? They look like they were installed on top of the wall tile. soap dish, toothbrush holder, towel holder.
Why did they have holes behind them?
I wasn’t so lucky. My towel bars took the wall with it leaving two holes. My TP holder will not budge, I cut all the way around with an oscillating tool, it still won’t move, it’s solid as a rock in there. Smashing it is my next option, but I don’t really want to do that.
Our house is very old and the fixtures are built into the tile. We aren't removing from sheetrock, but rather have old plaster walls with ceramic tiles. In one bathroom the soap rest over sink and in tub are broken and I wish to replace without ruining entire tiled walls.
How do you remove them from ceramic tile?
You need to replace the tile
Yes, but what about INSTALLING old ceramic toilet paper holders???
We don’t install. Only remove
Hi, I don’t want to see how to remove it, I want to see how to fix it on a dry wall with glue. Does a video showing it exist? Thank you.
Unfortunately most people .. like myself.. are looking to take them out of a tiled bathroom. Without demoing the whole bathroom
Oh wow. Not as hard as i thought.
My wall is not drywall, 100 yr old house tile wall ceramic
