How to Refinish a Bathtub and Tile with Rustoleum Tub and Tile Kit
VloĆŸit

- đ Using the Rustoleum Tub and Tile Refinishing Kit was actually extremely simple and has now lasted over 2 years through heavy use from a tenant.
Check out my new bathroom remodel HERE đ âą Bathroom Demos | Cabin...
As most of you know, replacing tile would cost thousands of dollars đ°. I luckily came across this product and now remodeled an entire bathroom using it and I couldn't be happier - it took 3 kits to do my whole bathroom. If you just have a bathtub with tile above it, I'm sure you could get away with just 2 kits.
For the Tub and Tile Kit (2 Parts) - Click HERE đ amzn.to/2GNdVJ1
For the Foam Rollers - Click HERE đ amzn.to/3hZK6Sb
The Tub and Tile Refinishing Kit is as simple as mixing Part A with Part B, rolling it onto the bathtub and the tile, and then applying a second coat. The hardest part about all of this is cleaning the tile and prep work you'll need to do before painting this finish on the tile.
đŠI used soap and water for the first cleaning, sanded down the tile to remove even more dirt and to make abrasions in the tile, then cleaned again, then painted.
The whole thing is pretty simple and I hope you get the same results with the Rustoleum Tub and Tile Refinishing Kit that I did to turn your bathroom tile as white and clean as mine! (I am not sponsored, just loved this stuff).

*Update:* Tenants just moved out and I got a new look at the tub. 2 years and STILL perfect under 2 different renters. See you next June for 3 yrs (hopefully my tenants don't move tho).
This product has now lasted 1 entire year with a tenant using it and there are *NO* issues so far.
It's the only bathroom in the house so it got a ton of use - so I'm happy with this. What is your experience with this?
Thanks for the video. I've heard from other investors that the kit doesn't hold up. How many coats did you use? Are there any special instructions you gave the tenant about cleaning?
@@JasonJFlippingLife I've also seen the mix of good reviews and bad reviews so I was skeptical at first. I think it ultimately comes down to cleaning still and I doubt most people bother with sanding (which also cleaned a ton of gunk). I put on 2 coats and went really heavy with the 2nd one between the grout lines. I didnt ask the tenant to do anything special, but he did seem like a clean dude.
@@KellyConcepts makes sense. I'll try sanding. Thanks
Thank you so much for the video, update & links!! Ordered my kit and supploes, can not wait!!!
Ekopel 2k is nontoxic and lasts 10 to 15 years.
The circle on the toothbrush holder is to hold a cup. After brushing, use the cup for water or mouthwash to rinse your mouth out. đ
Thank you so much for an extremely well made, concise, to- the-point, video. You were able to keep your audience engaged with how to's and limited banter. Appreciate that so much as a viewer âșïž
Thank you so much. I am painting my countertops and plan on painting the beige tile backsplash. This was just the inspiration I needed.
Hello Kelly,
Phenomenal video, thanks for including all the steps and products used in the refinishing project. I'll be ordering mine today.
Thanks for the tips, doing my bathroom vanity tomorrow, fingers crossed!
Thank you! I was afraid it wouldnât last but with your updates I feel better about the project!
I followed your instructions to a 'T,' and the makeover on my rusted old tub looks AMAZING! Thank you for posting your video.
How has it handled cleaning this past month?
Best video yet that I have viewed to complete this project!! Well done!! Thank you!!
Nice video! Nice job masking with the blue tape. Reglazing and Refinishinh is an amazing process and definitely lasts with proper care. Thanks for the update a year later...
Thank you for this video! We have a bathroom that looks terrible! This gives us a good idea for repairing our bathroom!
Thank you so much. I plan on starting my bath update in February, and will be following your video.
Wow. TY so much! You're right. I've watched 3 vids on this but this is the ONLY one I needed. So happy!
I'm glad this helped, thank you for watching!
Straight to the point and easy to understand. Love it
Thank you for this video and the links! Iâm refreshing my parents home (their 90) and painting the bathroom tub and sink/counters to white :). Iâm excited to see the outdated brownish 70s tile look fresh and new!! Your video made me feel like I can do this!!!
How did it come out? Any chance you can make a one minute video
Amazing! Never knew you could paint over tile with that Rustoleum kit. Your bathroom looks brighter and bigger.
Omg my bathroom needs this! It looks just like yours
This is the best video ive seen on this so far!! Thank you so much for explaining everything!!!
Kelly, thanks for the vid...getting ready to do mine. I will use a short nap roller instead so i don't have little bits of foam embedded in my finished coat.
Loved it! Thanks for making it simple and straight to the point! Kinda rolled my eyes when you said this is the only video youâll need but then I took that back at the end! đđ»ââïž lol
Thanks for the tutorial. Came out looking great.
FYI..that "Circle" on toothbrush holder is a cup-holder. It holds rinse cup or any cup to store your toothpaste and other little toiletries in
Haha thank you! đ
Wow fantastic job. The bathtub looks an amazing . Keep up the great work and keep in touch my new friend .Thanks for the share and have a great day .Best regards, Gosia
Thank you!
Such an amazing transformation! Love how some elbow grease and paint can drastically change a space!
Yea lol
HGTV: "updating this bathroom will put a $5,000 dent in the budget"
Me: "I can do it for $500"
I didn't see a link in the description for the elbow grease and looked all Amazon for it, where do you purchase it?
I have this exact tile color and tub in my bathroom in Atlanta. I use this product on the tube and it holds up great. i plan on doing the rest of the tile in Sept. I didn't know about the sanding step so thanks for the tutorial.
Awesome and good luck! The instructions don't say to sand on the packaging, but I did learn that from someone else and it also really helped clean up all the dirt from these 70yr old tiles that wouldnt come off.
Thank you! Grateful your video is short, sweet, and complete.
Wow you did a beautiful job on that bathroom doesn't take that much to have a beautiful home it just takes some elbow grease thank you for sharing.
What a great video; thank you! This is next weekâs project!
Thank you! I have faith in myself now!!! My tiles are black and salmon color....they will be white this spring!
How did it go??
I want to do a one piece bathtub shower combo and I was wondering if I needed one kit or two. You answered my question right away. I need two.
Thank you.
Awesome results. I will share this with my sister who is about to refinish her bathtub.TFS
Thank you! It's so much cheaper than replacing tile and looks just as good.
Thank you for sharing and providing an update. Thinking about testing this out!
Good video. Iâm a very new DIYer (learning) and I want to refresh my extra bathroom tile. Great tips given in your comment responses.
Glad it was helpful! Good luck with all of your upcoming projects and tile update, the hardest part about any diy project is just getting started.
You did a wonderful job and I applied the detailed explanation. đ€
This literally looks the same size as our guest bathroom. Thank you for the tip about using 3 kits bc i was only going to purchase 2.
No problem, and good luck! Definitely needed 3 kits đ
Great! You just saved me thousands of dollars. Thank you.
Awesome! Yea it also saved me a ton of money đ
Thanks for the vid. I am planning on attempting this in a few weeks. You make it look very doable. Thanks again. I'm sure I'll be rewatching this a few more times.
Thank you and good luck! Cleaning is the most important part, after that you're good to go.
I plan to start this project tomorrow- redoing the pinky beige wheat sheaf 70âs bathtub tiles. I have all the supplies laid out and just have to get the gumption. The box says to use a brush but heâs using a roller, which would be much easier and faster. Iâm going to leave the tub though as I donât trust that this stuff wonât chip or peel at some point. I can live with it the way it is by putting a good quality bathmat on the bottom. At least until the magic day I can afford to renovate the bathroom. I can wish...
Excellent tutorial. Doing a tile fireplace surround. Just need to make sure its heat resistant
Thank you very much for this easy to follow demo. âïž đ
Thanks, just the pertinent info and great details provided. Just enough to do a great job!!! You are a great teacher!!!!!
Just removed 14 year old caulk and silicone sealant from tub/shower with NO CHEMICALS :) I used a hairdryer, a box cutter and patiently pulled it off bit by bit. Happy DYIing and thank you for this @KellyConcepts
Going to do this. Thanks a great presentation.
Thank you. Old bathroom looked like mine, except green lol.
Going to try this
This looks like my bathroom too, except itâs lavender. Good luck to you!
Color tile bathrooms are so trendy right now...... So jealous, I'm sitting here with tan đ
Awesome doing mine in a few days .. may as well start the cleaning !! Great video
Wow
Thanks for sharing the How to refinish of bathroom tiles. I found it very detailed and helpful. Keep shaeing videos like this that help so much. Again thank you
Thank you so much!
Thanks a lots for the great idea đ so no need to change new tiles..I will do to my bathroom ..đïž
Thanks for the video. You just gave me some ideas for my bathroom.
thank you for this very helpful video. You were right, this is the only video I should have watched, in some of the other videos the people didnât even wear a mask or glovesđłđł. Thank you
This stuff basically turns into plastic when it dries. Pretty cool! About to do this to a second bathroom in my house. Thanks for the video.
Awesome! Good luck Rob - it is pretty amazing how solid this "paint" becomes
Thanks so much for sharing! Gave me the confidence to update my bathrooms...Your work came out beautiful đđœ
Thank you for checking it out and for the compliment! You got this! đ
Update: It's almost 2am in Ga and I just completed the refinish of my guest br tub & tile with this product and I love it already..looks beautiful again đ I followed the product instructions and your video as my guide. Thanks again for sharing! đ
@@mssweetjamesjones83 That's awesome! I'm glad it worked out. I think the best part of this is that it covers up any old grout lines between the tile. Looks like new. Congrats and thanks for letting me know how it went!
@@mssweetjamesjones83 How is it holding up??? I feel inspired to do this!!!!
@@britley21 Hey, it's still holding up great so far! I also refinished my mother in law's bathtub after she saw my results
Great video. Thanks for showing step by step.
I'm currently doing the same except of the tub, it's a very small bathroom...I followed the steps hopefully it comes out rightâ°
I didn't know that could be done, I love the idea because my shower looks like a rainbow with all the colors in it. Thanks so much for the idea I will try to do it...
Good luck with the project! It made a huge difference
Thank you for sharing this video! Awesome!
Hello my friend.
Another good repair and idea. Really good idea to fix the Bathtub and Tiles Kit. It's nice to create and share a variety of ideas to help many people. Congratulations. I wish you healthy days.
Great greetings.
Thank you! and I'm glad to see you on Instagram!
Love the way the bathroom turned out! And yes - Bar Keeper's Friend is amazing!
Thank you!
Amazing resultâ
Great job, man! Enjoyed the video.
Great video. I prefer to watch video from individual home owner than someone who receives sponsorship from the manufacturer. They give unbiased opinion.
Great video, thanks for sharing your experience!! I'm wondering if it's possible to buff out any perfections after the product has cured, maybe with very fine grit sandpaper?
Best video Iâve seen of thisâŠ. Thank youuuu
I used some white mid gloss paint and I got great results from it.
My house was built in the 60s and this is the exact tile. Itâs on the floors, walls and in the tub/shower! I hate it!
Is you floor pink too? Ive been trying to figure out how old my home is and the tile is sort like this too pink/burgundy though
@@liviaree5410 this style became popular in the mid 30âs and lasted all the way into the 70âs
Pink/white
Tan/cream
Black/white
Pink/red
Pink/pink
Green/green
And sometimes purples and teals were all popular
Mine was built in the 50âs: My full bath was baby blue and yellow and the half bath is turquoise and white. So far, weâve renovated the full bath (hated the baby blue/yellow) but still debating what to do to my turquoise half bath. This vid is a great idea!
@@0110Nay I have pink/black it's on the tub walls floor and around the walls yuck đ€ź
Same. Except mine is pink and green. đ
Thanks. Really good demo.
Great job! Thank you for demonstrating. How long did you wait between coats?
Is there an update on how well this is holding up?
Thanks a million for the detailed, unsponsored review! I'll be trying this soon.
Thank you so much for thisđ
AHHH~ Thanks for this ~ i am so excited to try this out
Hope you like your results and good luck! It's definitely worth it for me
Lot of work but wow what a transformation!!
I was very surprised by how much cleaning it takes. Although this house is a 1955 lol.
Really opened it up a lot
oh yea, the light colors made it bigger and modern. thank you!
Holy shit. This is so helpful! I live in a very old house and one of the bathrooms is yellow. This video is about to change my life, haha.
great easy video to watch! thank you!
Thank you for this tutorial. Very clear and you make me believe I can do it!
Great video and the round thing on the toothbrush holder is for a cup...
Thank you so much for this video! Ima started doing mine now
How much did you have to sand?
Great video. When sanding, did you hand sand the beveled edges of the tiles too, or just use to the orbital sander as shown? This question isnt just for the rounded edge (dark brown) tiles, but the flat square tiles too. Thanks so much!
Interesting think I'm going to try this I've got old green tile. Similar set up around shower then half way up the walls the rest of the room.
We have the exact same bathroom đ. Mine is from 1937 in Detroit. This was very helpful! Thanks for sharing.
I love the tiles before! You're lucky. It was a bit sad watching this video, haha!
You used protective gear!!!! Yea!!!! Great DIY video. Keep up the great videos!!
LOL because I couldn't breathe without that mask even if I wanted to! Also - I just watched a show where the dude couldn't finish his cabin build because of health and that really got to me. Safety is becoming priority.
I see this video was posted 2 years ago, I wonder if you have another video showing the update and how it looks now. đ€ thank you for this video!
I subscribed! Keep the content coming.
Looks great. The 5:47 circle is for soap, people used to use soap to brush their teeth.
I thought it was for a glass that you use for swishing :)
Beautiful job. Really really nice
Weâve done two terrible showers with this product. It absolutely works! It turned two embaraasing showers into new. You must wear a heavy duty respirator , have all fans in, and prepare that your whole house will smell scary heavy dangerous chemical for at least a day or two. Thereâs no way it wonât permeate the air in the entire house. We had a $20,000 quote on one shower, and we paid 100 dollars for two boxes of tub n tile. Itâs been almost a year and itâs holding up great. Only thing I would suggest is that if your old shower was moldy, you will want to blow a fan into it after using it- and we also wipe ours down with a towel. You get one shot with this product, and we donât want to regrow mold and problems. You canât clean it with bleach or anything scrubby like a brush. Make sure you do all the prep- cleaning, sanding, waiting long enough to dry before using.
This product is excellent!
Awesome video man. Congrats
This fascinating let by me know how it works Iâm a try it next week...
Super satisfying to watch, I loved this video, I wish I could do the same but my bathing doesnât have a window, therefore, I feel Iâm gonna faint from all the chemicals đ”
So helpful, thanks!
Nice can't wait cover Pink tub n walls!!
Thank you for this video! We bought a flip house where the ladies who did this home didn't do the tubs correctly. Less than a year into this house we noticed the sealant in the tub was flaking off. We have family living with us now and we have to redo the entire shower in the guest bathroom. This is a must watch video for anyone needing to make their old shower look new! (We bought a 1970's home so one slower is a hideous green and the other is a rose pink color. They have both been redone in white and look brand new.... Except for the flaking we are fixing this week.)
How did you fix the flaking? Sand it down to the tile and redo it?
@@kellijomo oh she will check back with you next week. đ
Love the redo. I have EXACT same bathroom design only its pink and white, ick! I cant find your list of products. Finding the Rustoleum is a challenge in 2022. Thank you so much! Brillant!!
Same exact situation Iâm in. Did you find an alternative?
@@ahnsaunders4731 I found the rusteolum. Got the 2/3 from homedepot. Need one more before the renovation can begin.
Awesome video. Going to do this application on my old bathroom. Question: how did you waterproof the window in the shower?
Thanks for making such a detailed video and I plan on giving this a try next week. I was curious if I could paint a color over the wall tiles or would it not adhere well?
Thank you
I'm mesmerized by you
Looks amazing
Needed this video!!! Just used Restoleum Home on my bathroom floor and needed something for the wall tile.. On my way to Menards đ
How long before you could walk on your floor? Iâm doing our bathroom floor this month.
@@rosetanner3415 It's a few days I love it but... Have lost of ventilation... That stuff will take you out
