I have the exact same engine, pump, and gearbox. I would recommend unplugging the carburetor bypass plug solenoid (which mine died completely) and just adding in a fuel shut off near the filter. The machine is a beast!
Nice job,I ran two of prd 670 for a year and a half before problems....They were used on our truck washing rigs that run 45 hours per week so roughly 3000 hours.I should add we run them wide open to keep our heat firing so I would say they are worth the money.Hope everybody has a great year!
That's awesome, I hope that it will last me for a few years. I will be pushing to put 1000 hours on it if I'm guessing.
What problems did you run into?
I was going to buy a pre-built 5.5 GPM PW for $2000 but I'm building this instead.
Great videos with lots of info. Much Appreciated!!
Glad it was helpful!
Congratulations man ‼️ Thank you for video
Thank You, and I appreciate you watching.
Built mine because of this video ❤ well done sir and many thanks to you I love my machine puts out so much water could drown a fish 😂
Glad I could help, they are beast of machines!
Love it not bad at all
That is a beast
Super helpful video! thank you so much! im having issues finding a mounting plate big enough, like the one you have. can you or anyone else point me in a direction? and you dont mount the pump with the brakets it comes with? onto the frame?
There is a link in the description for the build sheet with links to all the parts
You don’t have to use brackets to mount the pop to the skid I did use my brackets and bought some rubber pucks to use it as a support
Doing the 420 build love it...do you use heat for any of your builds if so which is most inexpensive.
I don’t use any heat but would like to add it
Hey Jeremy, Would the tsf2421 work with that B24 gearbox? Do u see any real benefit to paying the extra $$ for that pump over the 2221?
Hey Shawn the b24 should work with the gearbox. The concern would be the shaft on the engine is it 1” or 1 1/8”. The b24 will only work with a 1” shaft. They do make I a b26 and b28 for larger shafts
Thank you Jeremy for sharing your builds. I'm really considering building a Pred 420 with General 2021. Would you share how many hours you put on the 420 and did you have any issues? Thanks!
You’re welcome, thanks for watching! I don’t think I would pear the tsf2021 with a 420 I don’t think they would be a enough psi there. It’s pushing the 420 to get 2500 psi.
I really like the 420 Paired with the 6.8. I have 87 hrs on it and have zero complaints.
@@KentuckyWashPros I'll go back and watch that build again. Thanks!
So I live in Pennsylvania and it's pretty cold out right now. I bought the tsf 2021 brand new and I'm working out in my enclosed trailer do you think that I should be worried about any leftover water in the pump from them testing it. My concern is that it may freeze overnight and cause damage come march.
I would absolutely worry about it. I’d make sure to blow it out with air hose, run antifreeze through it or remove one of the check valves
I run one exactly like this with the exception of the gearbox.. I'm running a GPZGR1000 gearbox. I'm getting 10 GPM @ 27-2800psi depending on the tip I'm using. This thing is a beast compared to my 5.5 @3500
Which unloader are you running?
@@KentuckyWashPros the General Pump YU21405S.
Do you think you need the extra horsepower and 10gpm? I have the other budget build you were using with the 420cc and it works great. I can't convince myself to upgrade from there.
The 6.8 is a beast and excellent for residential cleaning. After my last job cleaning 10K sqft of concrete I decided that I wanted to upgrade to a 10gpm. Tbh I wouldn’t have went to an 8 it didn’t seem like it would make that much of a difference so that’s why I did 10.
@@KentuckyWashPros I guess for the money it still makes sense.
Great Video
How many seasons in your opinion how many seasons would a 670 Predator last. I'm looking to buy a pressure washing trailer with two washers like you described of of craigslist you may have built the set-up?
Respectfully Jack
TBH I’m no really sure. I would think with proper maintenance and a small few upgrades such as fuel pump and spark plugs it should last a good while.
@@KentuckyWashPros Thanks for the fast response (subscribed)
Thinking about this build for a better for sewer cleaning
its a good build
Why did you decide to change the fuel pump & filter? I just ordered the 70 yesterday I’m looking to having it on the road by January..which gas pump & filter did you buy?
czcams.com/video/SoJV99wZ1ns/video.htmlsi=ELDbN5PN1HxIZJHn
I wish the prices were still this way. Every piece has gone up, except the engine. Thanks for the great video though!
You and me both!
Do you think it would be possible to add hot water to one of these later on?
It would be possible if the machine has enough charging amp to power the burner setup
was wondering how it has held up. and what size garden hose do you use. i have a 4 and trying to decide between a 8 or a 10 but i know ill need to get a bigger garden hose for filling
I run a 1.5 inch hose from buffer tank to pump. I use a 3/4 “ water house to fill my buffer tank
@@KentuckyWashPros thanks for the quick response. Do you have any issues of suckking water faster than you can fill it?
@@nathanbrinker1149 no I’m running a 200 gallon buffer tank
@@KentuckyWashPros okay thank you
Hurry up and get a video up of this machine workin! :D
Just dropped a psi video and a flow video will follow soon
How does it draw water from a tank doesn’t have to be belt driven. Or a hose from our home directly is OK?
So this is called gear reduction. Belt drives are like pulley reduction. So the pump is running around it's rated 1750 RPM when the engine is at top ideal like a belt drive. Belt and gear reduction drive run slow enough that they can draw water because it creates a vacuum. Direct drive pumps like Lowe's and home Depot pressure washer run at the same speed the engine puts out. Because the pump runs so fast it's unable to draw a vaccum so they have to be pressure fed like with the pressure coming out the spigot.
Most places aren't going to have a spigot that puts out enough water for bigger pumps. I'd say 4 gpm is max for straight out the spigot and anything more than 4 gpm needs a buffer tank to help keep up the flow.
Did you consider any other mounts other then the Water Dragon skid? It’s $250 now to get one vs the $168 you paid
I did look at other at that time the water dragon was the cheapest, now it doesn't seem like it. Mantee has some nice skids
Great content Jeremy! I’m considering this build myself. What surface cleaner are you pairing with the 10gpm?
right now I plan on still using my whisper wash classic 19". I'm hoping to upgrade to a mini mondo sometime by summer
@@KentuckyWashPros I have the same plan. 10gpm machine next, currently have a 20 inch surface cleaner. Change the tips, then get a mini mondo next. Thanks for the video!
@@WallyJ2K you’re welcome
Nice build. I have a Honda 670 on hand and may copy your build. What are copy fees?
You should build it with these parts.
Quick question, what brand of SAE90 gear oil do you use?
Built my 8.5 gpm predator but the gear oil keeps foaming I know it’s supposed to be a non detergent I’m 2 brands down and getting the same results 🤦🏾♂️
I’ve used the super tech brand from Walmart or the brand from tractor supply
@@KentuckyWashPros I just looked them up, I see “SEA80W-90” not “sae90” just want to make sure I buy the one that worked for you, Thanks for the feedback in advance 🙏🏾
@@Jothelefty I’m sorry I was thinking about the pump oil….for the gear oil I just get the 80-90w from an auto parts store, sometimes I get the Lucas brand
How did you get the skid for 168? They are 242 right now..And Russ Johnson just quoted me 300 for my gear box… do you think enviro still has the pa for that price?
The gear box he quoted was a gpzgrs1000. Is that worth the extra hundred bucks?
I got mine I guess before they hiked the prices I know they were $168 then they went to $202 k didn’t realize they went up to $242. I honestly feel like that’s robbery on that. You can get a nice one from pressure washer products in fl for like $150.
Is envirospec out of the gearbox’s? I would definitely call to check before I paid $300. I would also call around to other vendors and see if they have any such as Washmart, MPWSR.com
What is the gpm and psi on this build I'm doing exactly what you did
I haven't got to test it yet.
I'm trying to figure out how to take a build like this and convert it into a hot water build. I'm not really finding anything on CZcams about it. Can anybody help?
You can add a hot box burner to it
Hey I have a critcal question to ask you since we have the same Predator 670 cc set up and the same pump. How can I PM you?
facebook.com/jmesser007
how did you break in the predator 670 can't find any info
Just going to run it normally for the first 10 hours and then do an oil change
Can you add heat?
Not really sure on that. You could add a 110 burner and run that off a generator
Is belt drive better than gear box drive?
It's a personal preference, I'm a fan of belt drives
Can you put a 8gpm pump on
you can
I just bought the Simpson 10gpm 2700 psi belt drive for $3000
From north Georgia airless
Zak at NGA is hard to be he’s one of the good guys
I need a extra washer on my trailer. I have a HP 4040 belt drive pump. I was wondering if I could put that pump on a Predator 420 engine or do I have to go to the bigger Predator. Also if someone has a build like this can you help me please with the parts I need to make it a built drive setup. Thanks for any help I can get
That pump would not work on a 420, you will need a bigger motor. Call Russ Johnson at South Side Equipment in Brooks Kentucky he sells a belt drive kit where you build it yourself.
Some people have 8.5 gpm 3500 psi general pump tsf 2021 pumps on 420cc motors but the psi gets dropped to 2500 psi and the engine bogs down when you pull the trigger.
just got my 670 predator for about 800 with a 25% coupon holiday's they usually have sales
That’s a good deal.
How would you make this be 8 GPM and get higher PSI?
Use a 8gpm pump and adjust the unloader to the psi you want
Any advice on where to get a 10gpm injector? All I can find is 8gpm.
Most folks that use a injector on a 10gpm use the 2.1 or 2.3 orifice some will run the 1.8 orifice

@@KentuckyWashPros got it. Appreciate the reply!
@@b00btube3d general pump also has a 2.5 that has 1/2" threads. I ordered one for my 8gpm but I haven't ran it yet.

Link to it is in the description.
Inflation is crazy now, definitely cost a little more now but great video
Tell me about it
Any updates? How’s it running now
switched to belt drive
i have the 18HP Briggs & Stratton Vanguard Engine 1" X 3" 356447-0007 Has Muffler Fuel Tank. with the General Pump YGR1000 Gear Reducer 2.2 TO 1, 11-18HP 1" Shaft Engine, OEM. im trying to the right KEYSTOCK
That’s awesome
I’m trying to figure out why the engine is trying to kick over when I wire it up to the battery. The key is on the off position…? I still need to add gas and oil so I’m not ready to start it…
Did you figure it out? Short or battery leads touching something else?
@@MannyWashes I ended up getting a new machine...it wasn't pulling gas after I had it all hooked up and installed. new machine works great.
@@pod87official swapped the motor for identical or different brand? mine isn't drawing much either. Think I might have had a air leak between the fuel tank and pump but I'll test that theory a little later. From the get go I swapped the fuel pump for a Honda GX670 pump.
@@MannyWashes same motor swap. Try raising your external fuel tank up higher
How’s the system holding up?
Switched over to a belt drive. Bolts backed out and sheared the gear in the gear box.
I have same set up and it dies when I use green or yellow tip. Works fine with X-jet and surface cleaner. Anyone else have this issue?
Never had that issue.
Might have to do with unloader setting. I believe I've seen comments similar to this and that was the suggested area of focus. I'm not too knowledgeable about this stuff yet so that's as far as I can help you other than checking it with a pressure gauge.
What do I need for a 4000 psi build
A bigger engine with more HP. If you plan on doing residential house washing you’ll never need more than 2,500 psi
@Kentucky Wash Pros what do you recommend bc I'm doing trucks homes store fronts restaurants gastion ?
I’m really curious on how long it will last … love the idea behind it… tip in my opinion for you do a break in oil change with in a few hours of run time …
Hi. Thanks for the vids, have enjoyed them.
I have that pump. I have belt drive.
There are two specs gpm given depending on rpm you spin pump. I have run mine at approx 10.2 gpm and 8.5 gpm, both 3000 psi per spec ratings, by changing pump pulley wheel size. Just sharing some info if that helps. I also ran 1/2" hoses , 150 ft, at 10.2, had 3/8 before with general 8.5, 7 2? 3600 psi 2219, two ratings again depending on rpm.
@@Nathan-wf1pr thankkkkkk you I understand perfectly now…. Didn’t know you could run different size pulleys….👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
I plan on changing break in oil around 5 hrs.
Thanks for the info, I believe that I will end up running 1/2 unloader and whip line and maybe 100ft of 1/2 then 100 of 3/8
@@KentuckyWashPros it was really noticable that at 10.2 it really benefited a lot with all 1/2 inch hose, I did use a 25' 3/8 hose before gun. I didn't do much testing with 50 or 100 feet 3/8 after the 1/2 inch.
Why not belt drive don’t it last larger
Not really I don’t think…however now my machines are belt drives
How’s that Predator holding up?
Holding up, it’s not switched over to belt style
Did you build your 8Gpm
More or less I did
I noticed you have something different now. What happened to this machine? You need to do a thoughts and review. I think I seen you changed it up.
I had issues with the gearbox and switched all my units over to belt drive setups
@@KentuckyWashPros thank you. I was really looking into building this. That’s great advice.
You can't get over 4000 psi from this engine?
Wasn’t trying too, I only run at 2500-2700 on my machines, never needed anything higher
@Kentucky Wash Pros what would I need to go higher and have option to go down? My Briggs & Stratton does 3000 with a 190 cc engine think 8.75 GPM. Looking for more power
Bro, why are you always out of breath? Stressful watching this video. Holy crap.
Bro it’s because I’m fat and out of shape! If you don’t like move on, no one is asking you to watch it!
Please get a microphone it's hard for people on the road to hear
Would you use the same unloader if you built it again?
Yes love the zk1 unloaders
