20oz equals 568ml. 5us gallon is 18927ml which would give you a 3% sodium hydroxide mix. 40oz is 6%. For those mixing smaller quantities 👍

But the recommended is 12.5% SH mix, right? And when using X-JET M5 it will mix the water and SH appropriately, right? So shouldn't the target SH % be 12.5% if using an X-JET M5?

As a soapmaker who works with Sodium Hydroxide at much higher concentrations, I appreciate how thorough you went over the safety for this. Thank you! 🙏🙂
5:20 Yes, this is very important! Although, you didn't quite cover this fully in the video (aside from getting all the air out). 1 thing that I see too often in videos from pressure washers who use sodium hydroxide, is they leave the lid off the bucket for an excess amount of time. I'm just awkwardly staring at the bucket like: "Don't just leave it out! Cover it if you're not using it!"
Sodium Hydroxide is hydrophilic and loves to absorb the moisture that is in the air. The more moisture that it draws in, the faster that the potency/strength begins to degrade.
3:08 A friendly tip: Many people avoid long sleeves because (most) long sleeves are made for the colder weather, and can overheat in the summertime. To avoid this issue, look up "arm sleeves" at Farming supply shops. These arm sleeves are designed to protect farmers arms from not just thorns, but is made of a breathable fabric that protects from the intense sun of summer, and doesn't overheat. This also will allow you to easily remove the sleeves, without having to change your whole shirt when doing so.
2:26 The only bit that I disagree with, is the vinyl gloves (I know you layered it with a secondary set of gloves, so I'm not meaning you in general. I'm referring to if someone just uses the vinyl gloves by themselves). Vinyl gloves offers very little protection against chemicals. When working with a caustic material such as sodium hydroxide, it's better to use nitrile gloves instead. Nitrile gloves are more durable and stronger, but they are also made to be chemical resistant as well.

When producing it , it turns from a liquid state to a solid at 450 degrees. Its used in MOST processed foods , dye in blue jeans, a buffer for aspirin and drain cleaners.

I have done a ton of concrete stain removal, but it is an area I have thought about. As far as process goes, after applying it, do you agitate or scrub it? Do you use your surface cleaner? Okay bro no worries at all,yea the GPM or machine doesn’t affect these ratios ,I make 5 gallons of cold water ,add a little dawn, then pour in 2-4 16-20 ounce styrofoam cups of caustic beads and stirring as I do so they don’t clump up 👌 “1 lb of beads to 1-2 gallons of waters” the worse the stain the heavier amount applied 👍
