Just got my stuff from Russ. Geez that water pump is huge, weighs like 60 or 70 lb, I wear a size 16 shoe and it's about the length of my foot. The water pump and the unloader are a lot bigger than what they seem on CZcams or websites. I got the GP YU21405 unloader. Everything else looks about what it appear size-wise.
Guess who's gonna be rockin' the plastic film on the belt guard coverings?

@@RizzLV-nu7pe I'm up and running. However, I had move the pressure sensor valve opposite to my bypass on the unloader because when I closed my ball valve, water would not shoot out of the bypass but from that pressure sensor valve. When I put the pressure sensor valve opposite to the bypass on the unloader, the bypass was functioning correctly and dumping into my buffer tank.
@@polygoncleaningservices6288 I am not exactly sure what is going on. I would call Russ and confirm this but I believe you can adjust the pressure valve. Mine was shooting water and used allen wrench to adjust it.
@@RizzLV-nu7pe You were absolutely correct. I attached a PSI gauge to my unloader and made adjustments to match the pump's PSI specs. I attached the high pressure sensor valve in the same area as yours again. It spit out some water, but after some adjustments inward (clockwise) it stopped spitting out water. Bypass line is functioning properly, unloader set to spec's PSI, and high pressure sensor valve is just sittin' pretty. Good to go!

@@polygoncleaningservices6288 What did you set the unloader at? I will have to look at mine. I think I have mine set right at 3k but could bump it up some. I'm running 3/8 hose so if I run 200' it will drop 200 psi? Something like that so I should bump mine up. I'm new and don't want to be etching any concrete :)
I have seen nothing but issues with folks running the Predator engine in the pressure washing industry. I will spend the extra money and get a honda. What mods did you have to do to it?/ 3 years later how is it still running? Any issues??

Did you have any problems with the bolts matching up where the pump’s mounting bracket lines up to the base? I was able to make it work but it’s off a bit. I pretty much had to force it. Where the pumps frame to the base and the underneath where the tensioner all comes together.
Where can I get the pump and belt assembly’s and skid ? I’ve already got the motor
What did you end up using the two brackets for that you can see in the beginning of the video? They are sitting in the right side of the work bench (almost a Z shape)
I ended up not using those brackets. 1 set came with pump and 1 one piece bracket came from South Side Equipment. I ended up using the 1 piece. Forget who shipped which one.
So how'd you get the belt in? Mine was such a pain I had to pretty much take off the damn pump.
At the 15:00 mark there is a text box explaining how I did this. I had to unbolt the engine and turn towards the pump to slip the belt on. also loosen the pump so it could slide as close to motor as possible.

Where did you find the torq specs for the bolts in the pulleys?
I just got my torque wrench. I need to call Russ at Southside or lookup what those size bolts should be torqued at. I have only ran it for about 40 minutes with hose running back into tank. If I find out I will let you know. Dont over tightening 2 guys cracked one of those bushings.
@@RizzLV-nu7pe I am building the same thing right now so I just called and talked to Russ. He said he doesn't have any torq specs on them, just snug them down. It wouldn't be a bad idea to apply some Never Seize to the outside of the pump pulley bushing before putting the pulley on it because they become so tight. He also said jokingly "Tighten them down until the bolt break, then back them off 1/4 turn" :)
@@Syrin08 LOL guess I will try that. It does seem they just keep tightening and tightening. Hope video prevents you from putting things together 5 times. :) Ever after watching other videos I still did that. Did you get all the bolts needed from Russ. He told me he was going to start sending out the ones to bolt plate to motor and belt housing to motor.
@@Syrin08 I did see on a predator FB group that you should run that motor for like 3 hours to break it in with no load on it. I did not do this. I just have been running it for a bit each day a few times with no real load on it. Have pressure turned way down and nothing on the end of the hose so it is just pumping water through pump and back into my tank. Might want to fire it up and break it in first if you have fuel tank and everything now. I didn't get tank until after I put it all together. Just a thought.

The motor you get from Harbor Freight you can get the 420cc motor and build a 5.5 GPM at 3000 PSI
Or you can do the 670cc and 8 or even 10 GPM.

And I'd contact Russ Johnson at Southside Equipment. He will send you an estimate for belt drive setup and gear drive setup.

Paid $669 for the motor. And around $1200 for skid, pump, pulleys.... Send an email to Russ at that website listed in the comments and he will send you an entire parts list with prices. You can pick and choose what you want from him.

@@rescueplumber4987 It was actually $669 about 1.5 months ago? There was a "Super Coupon" for it. I searched earlier today for one and they were all expired. I'm guessing since they had a shortage on the engines they stopped putting out the coupons. I had to order mine online and wait about 3 or 4 weeks.
Yeah just got a kit and pump for a 5.5 GPM at 3000 PSI build from Russ for the Predator 420cc. There are some parts you can order for a couple of bucks cheaper. But it sure is convenient getting everything at one time. When I get ready to build a 670 cc unit I'm going to go with a gear drive setup.
I appreciate that information! Sign e then I bought a preasure pro 8gpm hot water unit. But want to pit one of these together as well!
