Randy Arozarena isn't just "not having that great of a year," he's at -0.7 bWAR and -0.5 fWAR. Even in our lineup his current OPS would be near or at the bottom of the list. Obviously he has a good track record, but with our luck, I wouldn't count on him suddenly turning his season around after we traded for him lol.
It doesn't really matter who we trade for. Seattle is where good bats come to have bad years. 😂
I figured it'd probably be a slight underpay, but I do wonder if come July and Logan Evans is still dominating down in the minors if throwing him in that package along with a big league piece like Canzone or someone else would maybe be enough to get it done
I wonder what Jerry will actually do. We always assume we know what route he will take then he just swerves and here's Santos, Rojas, Winker lol keeps everyone no their toes.
With Cal probably moving on as soon as he can, it seems keeping Ford becomes essential. Also, don't like trading for players who are either old or are rentals or only give limited control. Youth is exciting and controllable, and relatively cheaper. I say bring up some of the kids and dump the old, slow unproductive veterans.

I am not too worried about the 2028 Catching position right now. That’s when Cal will be a Free Agent.

After watching Vlad Jr and Bichette's AB's vs Pittsburgh Friday in the 11th trailing 2-1, I'm not sure I want either one of them. lol Both grounded out to short on just 3 total pitches between them. Springer bailed them out. Maybe it's the culture under John Schneider, but it was stunning how uncompetitive both of their AB's were, especially Vlad Jr who led off and didn't seem to at least try to advance the runner to 3rd with 0 outs and the ghost runner on 2nd. Hunter Stratton with a 4.61 ERA was the pitcher.
yes base your opinion on one at bat each. Just ignore their entire career where they have been very good players.
