God I feel like a kid on Christmas when Jomboy posts the Mariners, its like were a real team!
I think most people try to forget that the city of Seattle even exists.
@@WinkyMcWinkerson Is Seattle really that bad? Or you just talking the baseball team?
@@mobius1965 the city is shit. They don’t take care of the homeless or violence. Also, their teams are also shit. Fan base sucks too. I know this as I live 40 min away from Seattle.
Seriously, I’ve been waiting a loooong time for a Mariners clip on this channel. Almost like a….drought.
@@WinkyMcWinkerson As a resident of Seattle...I'd like to keep existing, thank you very much

Julio is friends with neris. They work out together in the offseason.
Julio has witnessed a Neris 9th inning before...
"Look, dude, it was by his head. There were warnings. You can't be that loosey goosey with your pitches." If umpires actually explained calls the way Jomboy paraphrases them, I'd like to think there'd be a lot less arguing from managers.
nah. most managers do it to blow off steam or get themselves ejected. it would still be fun to get a serious lip read of an ump saying that though. 😃
@@daneg Yeah, I'm sure you're right. And to show they've got their players' backs as well.
This is an old comment but I can tell you from real experience in the office world, if you are casual like that it helps out A LOT. I want to keep it vague for the sake of my job but I have called managers in big companies and have just been like, "I can't help you out right now cause idk man we are tied up right now. It's been hell today. Super busy. But I will try my best to have someone there tomorrow." and most of the time they just say, "Alright, no problem. Thanks."
"Look, dude, it was by his head. There were warnings. You can't be that loosey goosey with your pitches."
"FUCK YOU, YOU KNOW IT WASN'T INTENTIONAL"

"THIS IS FUCKING HORSESHIT. FUCKING HORSESHIT."
"....Dude."
"FUCKING. HORSESHIT. FUCKING HORSESHIT."
I love when Jomboy does a lip reading and it's just like 20 straight seconds of F bombs and my wife in the other room is like "what on earth are you watching??"
I'm watching Jomboy breakdowns in a hospital ward and pissing myself laughing when he translates the raging baseball players, umps and managers

I love that the umpire actually does his job correctly (tells the other umps he gave the batter first)instead of going to the review or backpedaling. Always nice to see when the umps dont let their own ego affect the games outcome. Even when kicking out the managers you can tell he is just enforcing the mlb rules and is doing so in an unbiased and way that he is understanding to the managers reactions. We need more umps like that dude, thats what will make the sport great again.
I dont know his name which means he's probably a decent ump - I do recognize him from being in a lot of breakdowns but he's never the center of the breakdown.
One of the few umps without an ego for sure
Managed the situation without escalating or making himself the star of the show. Need more umps like this.
he handled it so well
Plus he looks sick as hell. Dudes got drip
In a season full of Umps sucking this guy seemed to actually do a good job of being as fair as possible and keeping the game under control
Baseball used to be the only sport with great officials. The umps have slowly gotten worse. It’s sad watching terrible calls for 180 games
@@austinthrowsstuff where did the number 180 come from? Each team plays 162 regular season games (in a normal year). But you can also watch more than one team with 2,340 (edit: 2,430) total games played in the regular season.

Loved how after the game Dusty Baker tried to imply that the initial HBP was Ty France's fault for crowding the base. My guy, the pitch went BEHIND HIM
You do realize getting hit by pitch is a measurable skill for batters since it helps them get on base. Crowding the plate is a well-known tactic for inducing wild pitches from a same-handed pitcher to either get a HBP or waste pitches way outside the zone.
@@freedbygsusThat's my point... it's silly enough that Dusty Baker would try to blame the batter in any circumstance, but it's a totally absurd stance for him to take given that the pitch was a full two feet off the plate.
crowding home BASE?
@@pmccservices I mean, you could argue that home plate counts as a base, but yes, I meant to write "plate"

Some additional context: Kyle Lewis is still on the IL with a concussion after the Astros threw at his head in the previous series before this one.
Yep. People are totally missing this. Purposefully trying to throw a pitch at a batter should be a suspension, thats a serious potential injury. You cant tell me after all the Astros-Mariners back and forth over the last year that both the Kyle Lewis pitch and at least one of these wasn't on purpose.
this is why no one likes the astros

Mariners fans so happy to finally get a Jomboy breakdown that they're willing to ignore this was in Houston and not Seattle like Jimmy said.
I saw that right away! Like that's away uniforms and top of the 9th for Seattle?! Lol

On top of the K-Lew Incident. In the final game of the series, after the Mariners took a 5-3 lead in the 5th, they hit Julio TWICE in a row!
@Byron Wilkerson This is what makes baseball so stupid. How are they not just embarrassed for acting like children all the time over their little microaggressions. My god.
It isn't odd for a batter to get hit by pitches multiple times in one game. That's just baseball.
and lewis is still on the IL after he got hit in the head
@@freedbygsus in the mlb it actually is quite uncommon
@Byron Wilkerson I feel so bad for the team that was begrudgingly forced to throw a fastball at the batter twice. Clearly, the batter owes the other team an apology for whatever horrific acts he committed. We know the acts were horrific because the other team threw at him twice.
I was a kid that thought he'd like baseball. About 20+years later jomboy is bringing me back..I'm watching college games trying to call the next pitch. Thanks for making baseball more than nap fuel.
The "Behind Enemy Lines" reference with Owen Wilson and his "departure from comedy" and Gene Hackman reference is such an underrated throwback by Jomboy. Hilarious, Jimmy.
Gene Hackman, after Behind Enemy Lines, would still go on to star in Runaway Jury. Unfortunately, his last film was the not-very-funny comedy Welcome to Mooseport.
The Astros last year threw at the head of J.P. Crawford after Dylan Moore hit a grand slam. Then this year they threw at Kyle Lewis's head and sent him to the IL for a concussion just after he finished rehab. Now they hit Ty France and then go for Eugenio's head after a Julio Rodriguez home run.
Can the Astros please stop throwing at the M's? I don't care if it's intentional, clean it up.
It's a team full of coaches with fragile egos and dirty players. Basically the new dodgers.
They're trying to change their legacy of cheaters to dirty rotten cheaters.
I wish my team would stop doing idiotic stuff so we can be a somewhat respectable team again?
Please that’s all I ask
I notice you didn’t mention the multiple times the mariners have thrown at Astros this year Odd that.
Houston pitchers hit Mariners batters 11 times in 8 of 12 games. In those same 12 games Mariners pitchers hit only 3 Astros batters spread out across 3 different games.
Of the 4 games where the Mariners didn't get hit, they lost 3. Astros are poor sport terrible losers. Get over yourself.
I love the sweet revenge of players smacking one out after a team gets thrown at
There's a compilation of Jose Bautista doing just that somewhere on CZcams.
First sentence of the video, “…In Seattle!” …Jomboy, this game was in Houston. 😜
Took the words out of my mouth. How does that not get corrected in post?
They put a correction in the video...
I can't wait for Jomboy's breakdown of today's brawl 😁
Oh joy, another mariners Jomboy breakdown incoming :)
You just don’t normally see pitches fly behind batters heads when there’s not already been drama. I don’t buy the oops it slipped, especially after benched cleared and a HR.
idk dude Neris has kind of been in this situation multiple times this year, and, reading his body language, I sincerely think he just has control issues. Probably to the point that he needs to be sent down, but my opinion on that is pretty unqualified.
There’s no way a team asks their pitcher to hit a batter when its the ninth and it’s a one run game. Teams are petty but their not petty enough to risk losing the game.
@@ignzore but it's the Astros so they definitely did it 🤣
@@ignzore Seattle was already winning, what are you talking about?
@@nicholasbrown4109 yeah my bad, but my point still stands, why in such a close game would they hit a batter.
Dude, I was laughing so loud when you were "F*ck you!" everytime.
0:57 "Then he's going to yell at the pitcher, which is pretty much a big no-no..."
Jomboy is either against the unwritten rules, or he's an advocate for them, depending on the day of the week and which way the wind blows.
That's not really an unwritten rule and more a general rule in every sport. NBA, NFL, you have to direct it at your peers and not a player. Players jaw with players, coaches jaw with coaches, I think that's fair in every sport to tell them "get your guy in check" and not scream at the guy directly because of the difference in control over the game
gotta love jomboy not letting a chance to shout out "behind enemy lines" in the middle of a hectic moment of commentary needed, this man is a master
@@gl22222 Yeah, everybody knows it was Mooseport. Jomboy blew it.
Maybe it's just cause my exposure to baseball is mainly Jomboy, but I feel like throwing at batters happens a lot more than it should.
feel like it's been on the uptick this year in general.
it doesnt happen very often intentionally
It's a great way to get onto a Jomboy breakdown..
That’s because a batter hasn’t made up their mind “ you hit me, with equipment, I hit you with equipment” wait for the first batter to try and take out a pitchers leg .... then mlb will do something that matters.
Feels like more people just need to have balls to throw at people when they deem it necessary. People would be less quick to throw at batters if they knew a volley of baseballs could be launched from the dugout at any time.
as a Phillies fan just want to say we used to have Neris and he is absolutely capable of throwing pitches that far out of the strike zone with no intent whatsoever. Dude throws some wicked stuff but you have no idea where it's going most of the time
Y’all are getting close to 2 million Subscribers. That is definitely not horse 💩, that’s pretty freakin cool is what it is.
I share your videos to family and friends so hopefully if everyone’s doing it you’ll be there real soon.
Love Baseball!
On purpose or not, a ball at the head after a warning has to be followed by an ejection. Can't embolden players or managers to headhunt, it's one of the most dangerous parts of playing baseball and I'm honestly surprised the league is still so lenient on intentionally hitting batters. That kind of stuff warrants suspensions. The only negative I can see coming from this is batters crowding the plate more, but 1) why not just move the batters' boxes back then, or 2) why not let the batters have *something* in a game currently totally dominated by pitching?
Absolutely. Ejections had to be made. But, as a Phillies fan, this was just Neris being wild. We were used to that over the past few years.
@@maniacmatt1782 nobody cares if the pitcher is wild when it comes to concussions and throws near the head. If your pitcher is too wild that he can't keep the ball away from someone's head, then he shouldn't be pitching at all. He needs to practice and learn some control before he steps out on the mound again.
@@Dhalin I agreed with the ejection for that reason. I also believer there was no intent on behalf of Neris. He is genuinely reacting as soon as he lets the pitch go. He feels it get away. He's starting to wince himself before the ball even gets to Suarez. This is NOT the body language of a guy who just tried to blast someone in the head. He clearly didn't want to throw at is head. But getting him out of the game is the right call if he can't control his pitches.
I’ll repeat it ad nauseum: intentionally pitching at and hitting batters is grounds for a criminal and civil lawsuit.
It’s not within the confines of the sport. There are no rules that permit the deliberate act of throwing a pitch at a batter, with the intent to hit them. It’s no different than the batter walking up to the pitcher and punching him in the face, or striking him with the bat. Players themselves need to take it seriously and cost the league, and other players, money. Otherwise, MLB will never change.
@@kman9884 The problem is, though, is how you define intentional vs accident? There are _obvious_ situations where it's intentional, sure, but sometimes the line can be blurry. Pitchers can act. A pitcher can throw and then immediately do the "oh crap! sorry!" bit right afterwards and look genuine. Or, someone can have a legitimate accident in a situation that you'd assume was intentional. Should a pitcher get fined and/or a lawsuit if he merely has an accident?
I think what really needs to happen, is we need to hold classes and seminars with pitchers to get rid of this "unwritten rule" BS, and get rid of the culture where pitchers get their fee-fees hurt anytime a batter looks at a homerun, or whatever other stupid junk goes on that makes pitchers intentionally plunk batters.
"bombbbbbbs a homer to right field....just barely over the wall" 🤣
"Owen Wilson, good movie...departure from comedy but it plays well..."
Still makes me laugh a year later 😂
As a Phillies fan, I can tell you Neris is just wild.

Love the effort, but research was definitely lacking compared to other breakdowns. Game was in Houston, not Seattle. Should have mentioned how Ty France leads the league this year and last in HBP. Also should have mentioned Kyle Lewis got nailed in the ear from a Houston pitcher in the previous series in Seattle and went on concussion protocol. There’s a lot of tension between the teams.
It's the Mariners so why would he put any research into it?

Throwing at the Mariners is like bullying a friendless kid on the bus. What are you trying to prove? FTA.
Watching benches clear to have the guys go stare at each other looks so moronic every time, especially compared to hockey. If they wanna brawl, let 'em. Not this lame stuff they do whenever someone gets looked at wrong. Honestly embarrassing to be involved but thats the culture of the mlb

the best part is watching the bullpens casually jog in like they are gonna do anything
Baseball is a clown sport, played by clowns.....seriously. CLOWNS.
You're thinking about this backwards. The MLB basically doesn't punish fights and is super lenient on intentionally throwing at batters, which has ended careers. The MLB needs to shut this kind of crap down, not "just let 'em brawl".
