Today we take a look at my newest rifle. This is a marlin 25MN chambered in .22 WMR It's nice and accurate. Ammo costs about the same but it packs way more punch.
The trigger on the 25mn is not adjustable, but rifle basix makes an adjustable replacement trigger for it. And Marlin always used birch wood for their gunstocks, that is a very nice gun you have take good care of it
I have a similar Marlin 25 model in 22 cal. To improve the trigger pull on these models like yours I have done some refinements in terms of trigger and sear surfaces. Where the trigger and sear engage there is a smooth 90 degree surface area. Polishing those surfaces can be done by using a metal straight edge like a ruler from a carpenters square. Use 2500 or 3000 grit wet and dry paper that is tightly wound around this straight edge especially on the side ends where it creates a perfect 90 degree sharp lip edge. On this lip edge engage the exact same angle of the sear while keeping it perfectly flat and move it sideways in a slow motion. This will eventually smooth the surface to a mirror finish. Do the same for the trigger surface where it engages the sear as well. Next add some graphite or drop of Mobil One oil to those polished surfaces and reattach the two back into the gun. It will greatly improve the trigger pull.
Thank you very much for the detailed information. I will have to get with dad, He is way more inclined when it comes to gun smithing than i am. I tend to lose small pieces. I will let him know and hopefully we can adjust the trigger pull. Thank you for watching.
They stopped making these rifles in 2003. Two years before Marlin was bought out by Remington. The omg I have a JM stamped rifle is mostly people trying to sell their rifle and pretend theirs is something extra special.
This a JM stamped barrel, i didn't understand the significance. I really try to understand the History of all the rifles i shoot but i have not been at this very long. Thank you very much for the information.

Is the birch stocks across all marlin models?
@FoothillsAdventures Yes, as far as I know, if it has wood stock and it's a marlin, it's Birchwood.
My Mn has Birch stock.
I have a 25mn. A favorite rifle. Thank you MARLIN.
Looks like the hefty version of the marlin xt-22 22mag.
Absolutely love this rifle! Good video man
Thank you. I appreciate that.
@@FoothillsAdventures I'm a big marlin fan

JM barrels are more accurate with a wider range of ammo for the 25mn ... They stopped being I'm in like 2001
The stamping wasn't consistent tho . My rifle you can hardly see the j but the m is deep
