If you want to play on TV get the full size model, otherwise the lite is the better choice. I went with the lite, the portability factor and type of games seem more suitable for Nintendo, leave the TV for the big boys PS/XB.
Ditto
same, that's why I ordered a Switch Lite today, if I'm gonna play on the 4k monitor I'll play Spiderman 2, RE4 remake etc, not mario lol
But the switch OLED is better then all switches even in handheld mode haters
@@ghosttiee9212disagree. I have the Lite and OLED. The Lite is a much nicer handheld. More portable , lighter, sleeker, more comfortable , no wobbly joycons , real d pad. The OLED has a super nice screen but the Lite screen is still very nice and is overall a much nicer handheld .
@@adolfbilic8622Do you think the Switch Lite's screen size isn't too small?
I got my lite in August and I'm completely satisfied with it. Its a great console under budget. Also plays the same game
Just ordered a blue lite as well. Mind as well enjoy it while waiting for a new switch model 😊 never owned a switch
Fantastic video! Thanks.
I travel also but I prefer the OLED, it has the best battery life
i got the lite for myself but as my niece and nefphew got older i had to get the oled for multiplayer on the tv. I still use the lite for my travels around the city. great symbiosis.
I have switch lite which I used for more than 2 years now I think.
Now I recently bought an Oled which is really nice and does feel premium.
One thing that I think I'd probably prefer the lite is, is that it's easier to carry when traveling lol. With the oled, I feel like I want to be careful with it because it's expensive lol
I’m in the exact same camp as you are. As big of an upgrade as the OLED is, I too will likely be sticking with the Lite while traveling for the very reasons you stated.
same here. i play alone and would use a Switch in portable mode anyway so the Lite was a perfect fit.
Bought the lite just for a goof. Didn't know I would like the switch so much I have to upgrade.
Hi, I’ve been wrestling with this question for a long time now. I’ve got both lite and OLED I’m just stuck on which to keep and sell. The OLED is recently new (tears) edition. I love the feel of the lite so much! It’s comfortable and the buttons feel so nice. I love the screen on the OLED and I like how you can connect to the tv. I play a few games but not for a long period of times at one go. I’m just seriously torn between these two devices.
Which one did you keep? Also planning to sell my oled and buy a switch lite 😅
@@OreoCheesecake12 OLED
@@jackrobins8756The switch lite is good but if I had to choose, it’d be the oled
I have 3 years with my switch lite I bought it in November of 2019 I've never played my games in tv but it's worth it I also bought my own joycons and charger so I'm fine I guess
Do you play games that require heavy analog stick play? 3 years is a while and the reason why I am asking is because I’ve seen people complain about joy stick drift.
@@bravopapa137 well yeah i play games that you have to use the joycons a lot so yeah i have joycon drift due to the main line pkmn games on switch
@bravopapa137 the stick drift is barely a issue with the lite. That's more for the joycons
@@bravopapa137 2 years switch lite here, over 1.2k hours playtime, mostly open world games like ac, botw, arceus and xenoblade. a lot of running and no stick drift. I think I might be lucky but I do browse switch reddit pretty often and I don't commonly see switch lite user complaining about stick drift, the ones that did are mostly factory defect that had it since day 1. But then there is a lot less switch lite users compared to the standard switch. It might just be the lower sample size.
Started off with the lite and moved over to the OLED. Definitely worth the jump.
Absolutely! Totally agree. Great comment
The lite would be a compelling choice for those that dont extract value from playing on tv or social / splitscreen games. If it had hall magnetic analogs I could see it being the best choice for me, but I decided to go for the oled instead solely so I can have choices if the controls ever go bad.
Does switch lite have problems with stick drift too? I'm planning to get one
I’ve haven’t experienced any drift Joseph, it’s been perfect from day 1. Hope that helps
It happens to all the switch
I really want to get a switch lite, it would be the perfect partner to my new 3ds xl but I heard that lcd heating issues are common with it than the other models? Just really wanna know since I love handhelds so much. Had a v1 switch before but sold it since I was busy in college... I still am but now i miss it and want a switch lite for a smaller form factor. Great video though!
Switch lite is excellent! Haven’t had any issues with heating but I don’t do long gaming sessions. I’d suggest finding a good used Lite if you can pick one up 👍🏼
@@Lukekellytech that’s great, thanks for the info!
For 180.- I can buy a LITE, and an oled for 299.- ... I dont which one i want ... I haven't play in years but I really debating buying a switch since the fisrt one got out ... I wont use it a lot on my TV (I think) but it will be great to play with some friends (but my friends almost all have a V2 so we could play on they swich...)... The Oled kick stend seem reakly great knowing that I have joints problem and I'm quite afraid that the weight of the consol might be too much ... In the other hands the light is smaller and lighter ... My main probem with the lite is the screen quality...
And they probably gonna realease a new swich "soon" ...
Si I dont know what to do ...
The Lite was made for the people like you because it is more suitable for people that have arthritis, carpal tunnel and other similar conditions. For those that don't have these conditions, they could develop it over time because of the weight of the regular models and how much harder it is to hold comfortably for long sessions. I have played the regular models and it gave me hand cramps after around 20 minutes of non stop play. I guess that this was because of our hands being in the same position for too long and not enough blood flow but I never had this problem with the Lite. I was able to play for 1 hour non stop on the Lite with no hand cramps whatsoever. The difference in weight between the Lite and Oled makes all the difference in whether or not you get hand cramps. The Lite is the perfect sized handheld but still nothing will be as comfortable as a 3DS because that was a true portable that was easy to carry around. With the Switch, it's just a bit too bulky to carry around and play on the go because everything isn't in one piece and this makes it easy to lose. It just feels easier with the Lite because it is all in one piece and is pocketable. The games on Switch also feel better on a small screen because it was designed to be played that way. You can tell just by looking at how stretched out the games look on a TV when compared to other consoles. If you're not going to play it on a TV and only want to play it in handheld mode, nothing tops the Lite because the comfort and ergonomics more than makes up for the weaker battery life and not being able to play on a TV because the games don't look that much better on a TV anyway. Alternatively, you can wait for the Lite OLED because that would be the perfect model.
@@jasons890 Agreed, the Lite is great for me as I mainly play Nintendo handhelds anyway and I have small hands.
Here's an unpopular opinion, the switch lite display is outdated. The blacks are grey. After getting used amoled display on my phone , it hard to overlook how bad it looks. The reason being, we are now used to 4k UHD displays. It feels painful to look at.
Is switch lite have hd haptics and gyro?
No haptics but gyro 😎
The OLED is a portable home console while the LITE is a handheld game device.
As much as i love the OLED, I am a person who's always on the go so the LITE is perfect for me.
I have the lite Pokemon silver & black edition so sexy
Ain't the texts on the Games too tiny to read on the Switch Lite?
Nah! Not at all man. Easy to read :-)
now way he just said that (0:34)
Just so you know, super amoled is a Samsung marketing term for their screens. This is just an OLED
How do you know that the switch will be supported over the next couple of years they keep saying that something new will be released in 2023🤔😱✌️
Great question! I agree there will probably be a new switch in 2023/2024, but they'll still support the older switches with AAA titles for at least another few years. They've sold too many consoles to not support it!
@@Lukekellytech let's hope so because it's a great gaming device you did a great review I look forward to what you review next keep up the good work ✌️👑😁
@@jonathanmanning345 thanks Jonathan! Appreciate the feedback my friend. Have a great week mate 👍🏼
@@Lukekellytech you too peace and love sent to you and your family ✌️♥️
I do think there will be an new switch in the next 2 years, but no console just stopped supporting the old console right after an new version came out. Ps2 games was still being made when the ps3 came out.
Who mon tho
The switch lite is invalidated for one simple reason.
Joycon drift is the most prevalent case of drift....ever. The lite uses the same sticks, ever repair a Joycon drifting? Fairly easy job. Ever done it on the lite? It's a royal PITA,it's easier to replace screens on some laptops.
For that one single reason I can't recommend anyone anywhere ever buy a lite unit.
The screen also looks horrendous compared to the OLED quote frankly, but some may not mind that as much as others.
Can I have your Nintendo switch??
Please let me have your switch I'm begging you.. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Get a job
