the evon gnashblade "twin" is a reference to a consistency bug from a recent patch, where evon was in two spots at the same time. you can find fake-evon hiding under the "wedding isle" on the east side of the map. he has some funny dialogue.

The new Jumping Puzzle is the best! I'd highly reccomend checking it out. It's both challenging and beutiful. :3
BlackLegion You better have nothing planned the entire evening, because I think it's the longest JP in the game now. Took me and my group with 3 mesmers almost 2 hours.
***** I started alone and after a while my guild mates came up aswell, it were really awesome 2 hours :D
2 hours for me too (is there some hidden timer so that you always do it in 2 and we also had 3 mesmers) (maybe we were in same group!)
It's skillfully designed, cause it intensifies the group play (/w mesmers).

The wild-eye guy talks about a double/twin of gnashblade since players had notice in post-scarlet LA there were 2 Gnashblades. One in fort mariner talking to Kiel and hero-tron, and one standing near the TP around the south of the map. They were 2 different models of gnashblade existing at the same time.
The scaled down content being super easy for a while wasn't just the ferocity change making critical damage scale better, but also because traits were being gated more until later levels ArenaNet had said that they were reducing the stats on enemies below level 80 accordingly.
So not only were we doing more damage through ferocity (and weird stuff like Banner of Discipline scaling super well at low levels) but enemies had less toughness and hp as well. So lower level stuff was just a total breeze.
The current low level scaling not only kills Ferocity, but Precision as well quite harshly (and everything really). It actually made things in Kessex Hills somewhat threatening on full ascended gear. This may provide the inventive to use Soldier's gear for super low level stuff right now, but I guess we'll see.
Basically right now it seems like being scaled down to level 20 with full ascended gear scales you down so much that it's actually significantly easier just being level 20 for that area.
Haven't played this game in over a year, time for a dust off.

I believe the Evon Gnashblade twin brother comment is related to their being 2 Evon Gnashblade's in LA in an earlier version of GW2.
One in Fort mariner and one somewhere north if i remember correctly.
Someone should make a video showing the timeline of lions arch, showing every iteration of it, changing the music to match, then ending on an epic like "WHOOOAAA NEW LIONS ARCH" fly by or something
Trolls End jumping puzzle isn't there any more. The new jumping puzzle is called Troll's Revenge and is a super challenging (and long) jumping puzzle. Myself and a couple of random people last night did it. It took us 3.5 hours! Other people have done it a lot quicker, in perhaps an hour or so. People should team up with mesmers, or use their necromancer for this because it is so long and one fall could be literally a couple hours worth of gameplay gone.
The puzzle has sort of milestones along the way to stop people merely going for the end chest. There are four hidden stashes along the route that give you part of the key, and you need all four to open the chest at the end that will grant you the achievement of completion.
I really liked the jumping puzzle, despite its length, and yeah, by the end of it, the two people and I that had done it together had bonded pretty well lol. We danced at the chest at the end :) It gives you a completely new view of the city as you are running through because most of it is on top of rooftops and along power lines.

The Evon Gnashblade thing: you can find 'Evon' Gnashblade hanging around in the area around where the consortium area used to be, and talking to him has him defending the fact that he seems to be in two places at once. A friend told me this was an amusing thing because there had been a bug where Evon had accidentally been put in two places by mistake in the past as a bug. I really like that they have made an amusing addition to the game to cover for this.

It really should be renamed to Lion's Pun. The city is now so full of puns there should be an achievement for understanding them all. I love it. It might not be an actual long-term content (I've heard some complaints about it - but come on, it's not even meant to be a content), but the new city looks fantastic.
As non-GW1 player, I wasn't really impressed by original LA in GW2, I just found it okay… but now… I'm impressed. If nothing else, it's definitely beautiful. Those noobies who bought the game on sale (or got it with HoT) will definitely have bigger "WOW" moment once they enter LA for their first time.
Looking forward to your incineration eli build! I've been playing with the idea of one for a while now. :D
Will this new ascended stat swap work with celestial and avoid the time gate on the charged quartz crystals?
Hey wp just another little thing to do with the whispers tavern its seemed to replace the underground whispers location as I am yet to find a way in. As also the guy who is in past the secret door has a device which he is using to 'listen' in on the captains council
Love this update^^ started leveling a new necro now and its lots of fun, the new spec. UI and the training is so much more exciting to look at :D strange how those cool, new icons change things up in that way
we was about 10 from our guild that got princess before the dulfy guide, we made it into a guild event and was running around and toghether talking on TS and just having fun, was a really good collection. tyrning up your UI sound option will help btw
WP!! You can climb that enormous firetower at the sea side from lion's arch. There are a few boxes you can use to jump on the spiral. At the top of the tower there is a vista and some diving goggle's. I was yelling at the screen when you ran past it xD
Oh yes please stream the level up challenge on twitch! I would love to watch that.

1. What do you think about the Skritt in LA? Are they a nuisance? Will we have to clear them out?

4. Hero Tron wasn't able to find Marcello a job? Really? Are there no bars in LA that need a musician?
5. What's your thoughts about the many gold sink holes all over LA? Not just the ectoplasm/gold sink hole... there are at least 3 more!
6. After talking to Ellen Kiel, do you think she will resign? Is Evon Gnashblade working behind the scenes to undermine her?
7. What is the consortium up to? Are they responsible for the hatchlings? Is someone else at fault?
8. Why have we not heard from E? And are there any new clues to E's identity?
9. And who is the anonymous architect that designed LA? Why were their designs chosen?
The Karka hunt was fun when the patch first launched. I ended up both using dulfy and the hints or just running around listening for the clicking while I was exploring. It's not all jumping though :) I ended up being six ahead of dulfy's updating. It was a lot of fun.
And there is a new jp it replaced Troll's End and is called Troll's Revenge. It's a full map (or about) jp.
On the beach just outside fort mariner there is a investigator looking into the murder of an sylvari... I wonder what this might mean...

For those doing the karka hunt: From personal experience I'd say the engi is causing some kind (probably the kits) of bug that makes you drop the rifle if you hit the water. Using another class to do the hunt will negate that problem.
that_shaman datamined seemingly most of the elite specialization weapons yesterday, and based on that it seems like instead of getting sword, Tempests will get warhorn. What are your thoughts about this?
You should try EOTM zerg-wiping again and see if the improved upleveling makes it significantly harder.

The target closest enemy messed me up so bad in PvP I used to set tab to go to closest enemy and now half the time it doesn't work. Now I know why, ty WP.

With the Rifle for hunting karka, it kept dropping when I went underwater. However a friend has told me that there are some where swimming is required. Any suggestions? It's a lvl 80 asuran engi btw.
I am enjoying my new support ele I went air water and arcane.... Running a glyph boon build and it has some nice game play :)
my absolute favourite thing about the LA remake is that you can see an NPC actually using a waypoint to travel, it just really adds to the universe to me to see waypoints become an actual lore based thing.
Something I've noticed about the new wings is how well the physics are. With little to no clipping, could this be a gateway item to capes?

It looks like the new architecture of Lions Arch is meant to have a little bit of every races influence except for the Char.

Did you notice the possibly Canthan ship in the bay next to the Dock Lobster? Also it seems to me that the lower level of the Field of the Fallen is made out of jade. Probably just nods, but possible hints at future content? :P
so WP, if a lvl 30 character or a character who hasn´t finished the Living story wont be able to see the new lion´s arch? will they be able to commincate with people in the new lion´s arch at least through map chat?

WoodenPotatoes The second Evon Gnashblade is under the island in the eastern part of LA. If you talk to him you basically ask him why he doesn't look exactly like Evon and then ask him if hes just using Gnashblade's name to get free drinks.

I am loving the new LA. There are all kinds of little things to discover. The fake "Evon" Gnashblade is one that had me cracking up along with the adorable Quaggan kids playing in the fountain. The karka hunt was a pain, but worth it for the Dragonite eater. I am now hearing the Karka sound in my nightmares! There is a new jumping puzzle that starts on the bridge from Fort Mariner and it is long and hard. It took my guildies about 3 hours to do yesterday. I tried, but after finding all the Karka I was fed up with jumping.
karka hunt reminded me of Gold Skulltulas in ocarina of time.
there is a new JP, troll's end is gone and troll's revenge is in. it starts over at the bridge to the fortI also love the jade sea theme in the memorial.
I usually log on about a day after a patch when a guide is already out and just follow it because the sheer sizes of the maps scare me out of looking for small objects on my own. This time I logged on right after the patch dropped, before a guide was out, and coupled with the smaller map size i was actually really motivated to hunt for the karka. It was probably some of the most fun I've had in gw2, actually.

There are NPCs on the bridge by the new Guild building that do a shady deal, using code to talk about what they are purchasing, apparently there is a Hylek that is telling people about something they can get. Its a cool interaction.
Quick question: Why on earth is there a scared lion on the right hand side of the LA loading screen?

LA city of fallen angels where ocean meets the sand :D its good to see its not thrashed anymore too bad I missed out what happened but it was so depresive now its epic shiny and thrilling to venture around and explore it :)
There is a new jumping puzzle and it's amazing and long really really long (you should do it with group full of mesmers) I would say it's longest and best jp in game

White wings are the ONLY skin I have ever purchased from Gem Store... I stayed up wayyyy to late lastnight because I was having trouble downloading the patch just to be sure I could get them.
With the new ascended Mystic forging the 10% stat diff on Ascended to exotic would have made sense. a shame people got mad about it (probably since we didnt know about this change aswell)
Regarding Evon's twin: visit the caves under Deverol Island. ;)

Made 12g and 20e or so in a matter of minutes with the 5ecto gamble (underwater entrance) I was kind of astounded that Anet would put something like this in, with even 100g versions (which I wouldn't try but some no doubt would) This made me question the ethics of the feature as it is instant gambling and while its two virtual currencies players are still able to buy gold with Real $£€.
I liked that c could pick up someone behind me ;(

well the only thing I think this patch got wrong, but its normal, and its going to take some time to fix and balance is enemies in PvE with condi spikes, like the Stone in CoF path2 spiking horrible amount of Burning, killing people in just a few seconds. Other then that, super cool patch!
