    Yes, bunions look bad, but it's the limitation they place on your feet to function properly that you really need to be worried about! Your feet are responsible for supporting your body, moving you from one place to another & recycling energy so you do more with less fuel. They are only able to do all this b/c of their AMAZING structure. When the normal structure of your feet is lost, dysfunction & pain are soon to follow. Learning to properly care for your feet is the best way to protect them & make sure you remain FULLY FUNCTIONAL FOR LIFE.

    Ive been watching lots of "proper footwear" videos for a couple of months and totally agree, feet need to spread out as we step on them. but for those of us that have to wear boots for a living, would the safe alternative be wide sizes? i feel like a loose heel on a boot might cause ankle injury over uneven terrain and minimalistic shoes are just not allowed in some industries. thxs

    I loved learning about the bunions and that I can do something myself about them. I get massaged and have my toes pulled, but now I can also work on them myself. I ride horses, love it but the boots have affected my big toes. I also play a lot of tennis but the shoes are better than the boots. I also recently purchased the Power Plate and appreciate the advice Yoni Whitten provided on both topics. Tore my meniscus in my right knee from tennis and while it is slowly getting better, think these two things will accelerate my recovery.

      Amid those measures, also consider the possible effect of dietary anti-nutrients such as Lectins. These are in plants, i.e., veggies and grains. In arthritic-prone individuals, their Glyco-alkaloids trigger an inflammatory response resulting in enlargement of the joint.
      "Solanine" in Tomatoes is a particularly offending one.
      In fact, the "nightshade" vegetables in general are offenders:. Tomatoes, white Potatoes, Peppers, and Eggplant.

    • @painfixprotocol

    You are the first doctor who has ever mentioned these toe devices and exercises for bunions. I have a question...what about bunions on the other side of the foot (at the little toe)? I had a bunionectomy on this area of my foot cause it was so painful. Would these devices and exercises work for this as well?

    • @painfixprotocol
      @painfixprotocol  Před rokem

      Hi Ja ya, On the pinky side they're called "bunionettes or a tailor's bunion". The toe spreaders, foot strengthening and shoe recommendations would all apply to those to.

      @Mary C Julius - I just wrapped up working with a young athlete that completely resolved his in 6 months. Not every person can get all the way back to optimal alignment but, with consistent effort in the right direction, the vast majority can make significant improvement and function better with less pain.
