    Also be aware of that PCV pigtail, I’ve seen the pins backed out before or broken wires cause intermittent faults. (P0087 & P0093). Great video guys

    Great info and thanks for sharing your knowledge. I still have the 6.0 you dealer proof many years ago and still running strong. I been tempted to get the new 6.7 high output but hard to let go of my 2006 F250.

    Bill I use Archoil products in my 6.9 (420 ci) and it runs smoother, quieter and more powerful. This is cuz of your recommendation.
    I enjoy your channel and I use Archoil.

    I bought a 2017 F250 6.7 gave it back within 2 weeks glad I did. Kept my 7.3 and my 6.0 and added a 15 6.2 I just don't need the 10k 6.7 mess long term

  • @Thefreemans-interesting-music

    Fuel filters first. Especially that second one. They have reduced the microns and they block up like crazy. Half the time that is the fix.

    Ford should engineer and patent a quick disconnect system for the cabs to come off whenever you need to do the most basic repair on one of these things.

  • @projectswithdustin6405

    Yup every forum you click on is a panic fest about the CP4 pump. For years now I have ran the Archoil in my 16 6.7 and replace the fuel filters every oil change. Hey I’m one that’s listened hahah. Sure it might be a little extra but I’d much rather spend a bit extra up front in maintenance for the longevity of my truck then like you said 10K for a new fuel system. Not to mention the hassle of the down time. 6.7 is a fantastic engine just gotta take a few extra steps maintenance wise which sadly a lot of people don’t.

    The 2019 HD Rams went to the newer Cummins 6.7L which uses the CP4 pump, lots of failures where its got to the point they were recalled by Stellantis. Their fix is to retrofit the engine to a revised CP3 pump. I've heard GM also used the CP4 on the Duramax and they failed allot as well.

    • @Asamccp
      @Asamccp Před rokem

      GM used the CP4 from 2011 to 2016. 2017+ uses the HP4 from Denso.

    It seems that a majority of the problems with the 6.7 Powerstroke can be traced back to Ford's use of the CP4 fuel pump. I love Fords but if they insist on using the flawed CP4 I may buy a Cummins next. Not that they don't have their own issues.

  • @user-uy2yo7rk2x
    @user-uy2yo7rk2x Před rokem

    The CP4.2 does not mean its a revised/improved pump. The .2 indicates its a dual piston pump.
    CP4.1 - Single piston pump (Used on Ecodiesel and smaller diesel engines)
    CP4.2 - Dual piston pump

    I agree that Archoil was phenomenal for the 7.3 and 6.0 but do you believe that archoil is better for the 6.7 over the hotshot secret EDT?

    • @powerstrokehelp
      @powerstrokehelp  Před rokem +1

      The Ar6500 fuel treatment is crucial in the 6.7L. I dont encourage the Ar9100 in the oil of DPF equipped trucks. We dont think it will hurt the DPF BUT it is better to err on the safe side.

    I have a 2017 Ford F-350 6.7 truck has had the "weight reduction" on the exhaust along with egr system shut off (not delete). Tuning for the truck was done through GDP. I change both of my fuel filters every 5k miles. My problem am having is under 100% load in the 5th setting on my tuner which is the most powerful tune the truck throws a P0087 code. This truckhas been tuned since the truck had 60k miles and it is at 160k now with no issue besides the check engine light on under full acceleration in the hottest tune. Does anyone have a solution for this? I feel like it is a tuning issue but I a not sure. Side note: the people that tuned my truck have done multiple updates on the tuner since the truck was tuned.

    Love 'em. But you know those engines are coming to their end. There will be no more major development. Glad Ford did the 6.7 though. I only worked on the things, I'd never own one. Just makes zero financial sense.
