This is exactly why I replace the fuel filters every oil change on my 2016 Ford F250 6.7 as well as filling up at the same place every time and running the archoil. People have told me oh fuel filters every oil change that's over kill. Even if so hey i'd much rather spend the extra $70.00 or so and the at most 15 min to replace the filters than have to deal with the heart ache of this mess not to mention any more the months wait it takes to get parts these days! Keep up the good work bud!
Great Video ARod . Learning more every time I see one of your video's. Enjoy the talk we had with you all tonight.
Thanks buddy!!!!! We'll get ya on here agaim
Great video A-Rod, thank you for the information covered in the video...
Missed this last night but this is good stuff for sure. Everyone loves dissection. đđ»
Thanks pal!
Can't believe I missed this episode! Past two weeks, I've been binge watching & learning about the CP4 cause I'm worried about it coming apart and costing me thousands! Time for Arod to educate me on the deal. Press play...

Wouldnt this be related to emissions warranty?
Man I'm happy I found your channel. I haven't seen someone as knowledgeable on powerstrokes since diesel tech Ron đ RIP.
He was my buddy RIP DTR đ
Knowledgeable man indeed! God always takes the good ones early
Great video. I have similar issue going on. P0087 fuel rail low on 2016. Rail at 15k demand is 26k. Pulled sensor on top of pump no shavings, replaced valve in back of rail and still same.
Thank u
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod what do you think about the prevention disaster kit? Thanks in advance im a new subscriber.
havent had to replace mine. 2013 with 72k I am very picky with where I fuel up, and I do put in opti-lube every fill up. great vid man!!
Thanks pal, appreciate ya watchin!
Wow. Well done. Good video. Had this exact problem on a 2012 F550. Pulled my hair out too. P228F-00 code. Symptom engine idle fine, rev engine, or run at high idle and disengage high idle, fuel pressure would spike the drop enough for engine to die, usually under 2000 psi. Changed MPROM, no fix, changed PCV no fix, changed FP sensor no fix. Finally got from Ford exactly what you found. âorfice has become dislodgedâ this orfice is used to create the correct pressure differential between main fuel rail pressure and PCV side of rail. Ford fix is to replace entire DS fuel rail as orfice is not repairable. Fixed my problem. Hooray! Cool thing is Ford sells entire rail including both FP sensor and PCV for less than the 2 combined.
ARod-regarding the orifice, take a look at your Ford 6.7 Coffee Table Book. In the Fuel Management System subsection, under the Fuel System section, it talks about an orifice in close proximity to the diverter volume area, which I think is near the front of the rail. Hereâs the verbiage âFrom the diverter volume area, fuel goes through an orifice to supply the left fuel rail and through a high pressure fuel line over to the right fuel rail.â
Sonava bean! I DIDN'T THINK OF THAT! THANKS PAL!!!
['21 F350] I experienced the P0087, ie I couldn't develop adequate fuel pressure at WOT and I tracked the problem down to a tiny nick at the edge of a (new) fuel pressure regulator. The truck would idle, even drive OK, but at WOT it would throw the code. Since you replaced the regulator and it did not resolve the problem, I would inspect the threads (mating) side of the tube for any irregularity. This part of the system has extremely low tolerances as you mentioned.
Mine quit me taking off from a traffic light. Metal was everywhere when I pulled the VCV. Mailed fuel to a lab, and they said the it was just fine. Servicing dealer refused to do any failure analysis on the cores, so I have no clue what smoked mine. I add PM22A (buy it in gallon jug)at every fuel stop, fill up at a place with rapid tank turnover, Motorcraft fuel filters every other oil change, and check the water separator regularly, and never found any. Monthly payments on the pump and injector job are bigger than they were for the rest of the truck!
Dope video my man! Also, big shoutout to that zc-20 on the bench. That stuff is tha shizzzz!
Wooowooo, thanks 4 watchin playerrr
No Def to worry about on the old 7.3. I love working the old school engines.
This is why I won't sell mine...

Was getting code P228F. Truck started stalling at low idle. Swapped in a new Fuel Pressure Regulator (Ford p/n CM 5185) on the end of the rail and fixed my issue. 20 minute job. The longest part was taking out the wheel well to gain access.
Thanks for your comment. I am getting the same code P228F (fuel pressure regulator exceed max relearn). I am going to replace that sensor to repair the truck. Any advise on how to replace that sensor?
Replace the rail...
Dude to answer that question you asked me why I liked the podcast is because you have a real world experience of what is really going on. You should be on the diesel performance podcast it would teach people all kinds of things with your knowledge
Appreciate that blue gloves
Any luck getting the podcast on iTunes yet?-also do you have any ball joint installs on these newer trucks by any chance
Almst there.....no i do not do front end work
Blowing my mindđ€Ż
Love my 6.7s big bro
There's a recall on some 2020/21 6.7's for the left hand fuel rail due to possible dislodging of the orifice, as you've described. Fsa 20b41.
Pays half decent too lol. Especially nice if they don't have the noise isolator covers on
Yeppppp
Nice know i see how it really works learn soemthing new everyday.
And you know this man..
I have a 2016 F-550 Flatbed that the HPFS failed at 54,800 miles. Always dealer serviced, fuel station turns their fuel regularly. Ford covered the repairs under warranty especially after I took my own fuel samples and e-mailed them the results showing the fuel was clean. After 2 months at the dealership getting this truck repaired it went back 1 week later for the valve cover gaskets leaking. 1 week after that the timing chain cover started leaking. Before that it was the upper oil pan leaking, lower turbo boot blew off and a few other issues. Sorry but I'll never buy another 6.7L diesel again. I'm going back to a gas engine on my next truck. I always enjoy your videos though btw.
Thanks vinceđ€đ€
The orifice that gets dislodged is that piece that u seen at the end where the regulator goes in..it will come loose and shoot down to the other end of the tube
I got a 2012 f350 with 123k miles. fully deleted with a mini max . My Fuel pressure drops down to 2.5 Ksi when I release the throttle, and low power when accelerating. Probably 5k miles ago I replaced the fuel pressure regulator( the one on the rail) because it would drop off like this, but still had good acceleration. Changing that part made the truck run great till now. Going to change fuel filters first, and Iâll open the cp4 regulator this weekend. Really hoping I donât see metal. Past this Iâll need someone to check actual and called for pressure since I donât know if my tuner is 100% accurate on the readings.
Exactly why I went back to a 7.3. A new 7.3 gasser đ€Łđ€Ł
Run that a couple hundred thousand miles and itâs done.
On my 2014, I replaced the pump due to it not holding rail, truck is tuned and get run hard. Installed a modified pump, truck now has larger turbo. Has been running flawlessly till recently. Took it to the local drag strip and it ran a full second slower than normal. No codes at that time. Logged the vcv and pcv on the 2nd pass. Pressure holds fine. Vcv is maxed out my 20% throttle. I immediately went home. Pulled fuel filter, they had about 1500 miles on them, the looked fine. Pulled the vcv and pcv. Both looked good, no metal. Instslled my new "test" vcv and pcv I keep in my box at work. Same deal. Kind of at a loss. Almost ready to do the fuel system with some larger injectors and put some holes in the block.

I think Ford should put the DEF fill on the other side of the truck, this would help with any mistakes and confusion, of course I know they wonât, great video sir đđ
I agree with you on that. GM puts it under the hood. People are distracted. Make it hard for them to mess up.
Hell no, gm did that and it's stupid, a real pain to fill when the Def nozzle is by the diesel pump nozzle. Filled Def tanks many times, have yet to get Def in the diesel tank.
Good video just learned acouple of things not sure if l would try to fix. Thanks ARod
Thanks for posting very helpful.
I'm experiencing this now. I always change fuel filters when I change oil. Inspect filters fuel and oil. Never seen any debris before. Now the complete system. I have 178k on truck and am 2nd owner my brother was the original owner. Wlways been serviced at regular intervals.
Sorry pal...
Man, what a great video đ
That was a good vid. I agree, I really didn't think the Bosch CP4 pump is a bad piece. It was always about the fuel & possible contamination. Problem is we can't always control the fuel we buy, hoping it's good quality. My truck is a 13 with 200K on it. If my CP4 grenades, I'm not sure I'm spending 11K on a fuel system even though it's still a nice truck, Maybe it's a Platinum, Okay I would, but It would be nice if that SPE kit does what it claims, that's cheap insurance & it's Plug & Play. Always great content from Arod, I appreciate you sharing your craft with us!!
Thanks budddddy!!!
It's not a bad design? Faults! Ram and GM never had these issues with the cp3. Since GM went to a different pump they longer have this catastrophic failure.
Surely with what these trucks cost now ford should have no problem finding a better pump and design.
This is the best video on the internet about the CP4 problems!
Hell yeah brothaaaaa
I change my fuel filters out every 12-14,000 miles. Seen it says 22k but after 12-14 filters pretty dark, even with high volume fuel,in part for piece of mind and In part to just keep filters fresh, filters like $58.
I also use Fords fuel additive pm-22
Half bot every tank!!! Good rule of đđđ
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod yes sir, gotten to the point where I buy it by the gallon and measure it out
just had a 2020 6.7 powerstroke come through after the owner filled up the truck with diesel and then put 2-3 gallons of def in the diesel tank, ran it for a couple minutes then realized what he did and immediately shut it off.. long story short dropped the tank drained fuel, opened tank up and mopped up the little def crystals best we could, dropped both fuel filters, ran clean diesel through the system and caught it in a bucket from fuel tank return line, dropped those new filters and put on another 2 new filters, filled tank up with 5-10 gallons of clean diesel, cranked on first try, since then it has about 2k miles and has been running fine since
ARod, you need to get a band saw for all these parts your cutting open, nice see what's going on inside these components when they fail. Great job on the videos
Lol, thats the only time i cut somethin open
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod You did a trans cooler and there's so many more parts to go
Good stuff bro. Funny I just changed my fuel filters the other day. I do it every 15K. I never have water in my fuel. I also use HSS EDT with LX4 for lubricity every fill up. Maintenance is key. Unfortunately, while doing my oil change yesterday, I noticed my upper oil pan leaking for the second time. Very frustrating. I might have to trade my 17 for a 21 lol. Thanks again for all the good content đ€
@@repairvehicle Very true. My dealer said if it happens a third time they will help me get Ford to buy back my truck. The repair is still covered under warranty too.
Hell yeah brotherđ
My CP-3 took a dump metal shavings in tank , both filters, return fuel line they were all replaced
The orifice could be built into the solenoid valve itself.
Very informative
My fuel injector pipe just blew open on the highway. Cylinder #3. Aftermarket ebay part used. No light's or codes. Always buy OEM!
Great video. Got a 2015 6.7 and about once every 2 days I'll get the p228 that says fuel rail pressure sensor learning limits exceeded. Demand vs Actual are right on. You are the 2nd video I've seen where they replaced the driver rail and problem solved. Looks like I'm gonna get a fuel rail and some HP lines. Thanks!
Mine just got that code but it's running fine . Should I still replace the driver rail ? And can I still drive it ?
I duno we'd have to go over it
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod idk it's running fine right now only thing I notice is the engine light is on but I'm parking it until I take it to a shop,, I don't wanna run it and make it worse
Ok
@@TNTS8105 did you get it fixed. I got the same code.
Had 2017 F 750 the last few days it die going down the road and blew the return line t off no codes would t start after repairing the return line found it had # 5 injector check all the normal stuff like you said blocked off injectors one at a time and tried to start it when got to number 5 it ran got it all back together no codes and was running good sent truck out and it would go into power loss mode it was loosing fuel pressure replaced the sensor and regulator and fixed it first time messing either one so it was learning curve
I had to replace my CP4 because it wasn't producing enough pressure during crank to start. I also replaced the PCV and put the upgraded metering valve on the new pump. Something to note is that it is very important to clean the top of the pump off very thoroughly before removing the lines or metering pump.
Ever think of a airdog or fass lift pump
Nope
Nope. They are more trouble than they are worth on these. The stock lift pump supposedly supports up to 700HP reliably. And the motorcraft filters do a great job when they are changed at the right intervals.

Very nice bro đ€đ€

That happens to my Duty, then Iâm going back to my 97 Astro van with a Cummins swap đ

Yo skip the astro van They pulled that cargo ship out of the Suez canal with a couple of snatch blocks and two FORD RANGERS on each shore, That's what I am gettin. When he finds out the cost of a fuel system repair bill!
Three days after adding some anti gelling additive we had a die and no start with p2291 code. Had zero issues before hand.
I highly doubt it was from the additive
This has been very helpful.
However I have a 2011 6.7 with a p228e code and crank no start Iâm at a loss.
I found the orfice in my 2011 6.7l driver's side rail. Closer to the forward sensor end of rail.

I just replaced my whole fuel system I was hauling my living quarters horse trailer and cracked my cp4 clean in half but it still throws p0087 once I get on it itâs got a turbo piping kit and a couple other goodies
So itâs good to buy cp4 filter like , S & S diesel . Another question I have 2017 , in your opinion, I have been think of delete the def system , would recommend to do it
In the process of changing my fuel system,cp4 pump failure .just spent the money today $3531.00 local ford dealership and I'm doing this my self, not a truck mechanic I'm a field service heavy equipment mechanic đ
2013 true cab/chassis used for personal use only 4wd crew cab looks like to much fun
Good deal đ
Doing first one in F-550 2013 just neglected over 2 yrs. 25 pax mini bis 185K miles
This would be one cool JB Weld experiment⊠dare ya
Yea I have, on the three time now. Mechanic couldnât fix it last time. He replaced injectors but only cleaned rail. Iâm pissed. Runs at idle rough at times and then cleans up intermittently.
2016 replaced hpfp for a oo93, desired vs actually off under load. Then chased injectors replaced all but 1 and 2. Still developing 0093 desired vs actual. Now really debating drivers side rail. But idk
That shlda been ur 1st repair bud.....
Mine failed in June of this year. Truck had 315k miles on it when it failed. Mechanic said the CP4.2 had fail from age. I wish it would have been water or def. I was told insurance would have covered the repair if that was the case. Repair ended up running me about 10k out of pocket.
Cani just replace the pump on a pump failure
Be more specific...
I may have to replace my fuel system. Hopefully not, but I have the dreaded p0087 code. Truck starts right up, idling sounds good, and it seems to drive fine. But it keeps giving me the reduced power code. May try swapping the sensor first, but if that doesnât work, itâs going to the shop where Iâll probably need to replace the whole fuel system.đą
I have a P228F, P0170, and multiple cyl contribution /balance codes. Truck ran fine, thought engine blew. Sat 2 yrs, then found starter messed up. Put new starter and batteries on, started up and ran fine. Ran for 2 weeks, then suddenly started studdering and quit. Hasn't run since. Threw those codes. Changed filters, dropped and cleaned tank, pulled cpr4 valve and it was as clean as can be. No rust, no flakes. Still stuck with a 100k mile truck not knowing what to do. Everyone saying fuel system at $10k to fix. Haven't found anything to justify doing that.
New CP4 or S&S new DCR & replace the LH rail, trust me
ARod, yes we have had this failure and caught it before the engine was damaged. HOWEVER the entire fuel system has now been replaced (New CP4, metering valve, lines, rails, injectors, low pressure pump. Everything in the fuel system is brand new) and it runs in park or neutral but a couple minutes in drive. Commanded fuel pressure will spike, the actual pressure is correct but the difference trips the low fuel pressure code and sends it to reduced power mode P0087 code. Any ideas??
This is exactly why I kept my old 7.3....sold the 6.7, you get water in the fuel system on a old 7.3 you drain it out and she will just keep on rolling down the road leaking oil lol!
Modern 1/2 ton gas trucks make more power and have higher tow ratings than those old 7.3psd trucks, so your logic is flawed, some people need 25,000lbs of towing ability and your old reliable 7.3 isnât going to do that.
@@irishsavage8715 that doesn't make any sense, so you saying a 18 year old 7.3 can not tow 25.000lbs according to the manufacturers tow ratings? Oh that's right they now have the magical tow rating fairy dust that they sprinkle on trucks today lol!
đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
@@gregc9220 my wifeâs minivan could pull 25,000 pounds, that doesnât mean that she should or that itâs safe or equipped to. You pull that much weight for any long period of time with a 7.3 and youâll be replacing parts and causing premature wear. I know I had one, I outgrew it, the 7.3 was great and itâs time but it doesnât make shit for power, my 67 Cummins could drag four of them down the street... youâre missing the point, those things are antiquated and not even on the same level as modern trucks. And just in case you didnât know there are 6.7âs that have broken the million mile mark, so your argument of unreliability is flawed. All you have to do is properly maintain and do away with the missions equipment and these trucks run forever. The only people who make the argument about older diesel engines are people who canât work on the new ones or canât afford them...which one are youđ
@@gregc9220 never mind I saw your harbor freight tool review, you canât afford themđđđ
Not sure if itâs the orifice you are talking about, but where the lines screw on the rail there are small orifices there.
No part of the rail itself
Nice video. Thanks again. Does ford recommend cetane booster or any additive
Oh yess yessssssss PM22A PM23 BABY ALL DAY
Weâve had two trucks in our fleet need whole fuel systems. One was from a guy putting def in. Ruined everything. Other was water contamination took out the whole system.
I manage a fleet of work trucks, almost all 6.7's. Had two fuel systems replaced in the last two years. One had fuel from a fuel cell (which probably had the cap left off for awhile) which contaminated it. On the other truck we were told that the fuel looked fine at the time they pulled it apart but the system was compromised from a previous fill up. I suspect DEF was put in that one. We don't use any additives, but that's the direction I'm heading, those repairs hit out budgets hard. Any suggestions on fuel additives and how frequent they should be used?
Every TANK...motorcraft pm22 & pm23. EVERY TANK!
I love the videos.. iâm actually changing out that sensor right now is there a specialty Tool for that particular application?
No
I have a question I'm working on a 6.7 and my pressure on the high side is at 3,000 to 4,000 then it drops and truck turns off...on the high way at 70mph pressure is at 22,500 psi... it wont stay running at idle
Dannnnnng
I changed mine about a year and half. Not sure what the problem was. I just bought the truck used and about 6 months it went down on the freeway. It was the fuel pump failure. I was able to do it all myself. Cost me around 5k after I put a airdog and damage prevention on it. No I have a p0278 and p0284 codes. I changed the vacuum pump today cause I had no brakes. All this happened the same time. I had gas in my fuel so I drained tank and changed all fuel filters and changed oil. I was getting contribution balance on all cylinders and now it's just on 6 and 8. Any ideas?
Hey like the video like to know more about repairing diesel common rail ..
Stay locked to my channel then
On a 6.4 the guy kept running the truck out of diesel and cooked the high pressure pump. $6000 later he is back on the road
What about a p228F/p01c6. Could this be related to a bad FPR? Ive replaced to front sensor and the code keeps coming up.
My biggest fear with getting a new 6.7 is something happening to the fuel system. Being in a farm community we go through a LOT of diesel, so I wouldn't be worried about that, it's when you're pulling the 10k camper and need fuel in some shit town.... Ugh, scary. Do you recommend another filtration setup combined with stock? Thanks for the video brah, I like when you play Unsolved Mysteries LOL!

I have personally had this exact same issue. 3 shops tried to fix it but only after me doing some looking in to had the fuel preasure regulator replace to fix the problem. while under load and only under load my truck would go into limp mode and then I had to reset the dtc's to get it to work again.
Replaced my PCV and now truck dies while driving. PA0093 code. Could it be that I didnât tighten it enough ?
The 19+ cummins are haveing injection pump failures via metal from the pump. Garbage cp4 pumps - a chrysler tech
I have a 4-5 second long crank with code p228f and on idle it has like a fuel knock but once you rev it the fuel knock goes away . Any ideas if that regulator would cause that ?
Great video! Iâm trying to replace my 6.7 fuel rail pressure sensor, any advise on the torque for it ?

What is ford's recommended fuel additive or do they offer. Lastly what do you use , how much and when. Thanks so much for your info...GOLDEN!!đđđđđ
Hey check out our podcast....we talk about it!!đââïž
IMO there are better additives then what ford puts out. I'd put money on a couple different brands over what ford recommends, one being optilube, XPD.

Does anyone know if a bad fuel volume control valve will still give good fuel pressure reading in the high pressure fuel pump? My fuel volume control valve is only opening up at 26% duty cycle and at WOT 31%...seems stuck to me but fuel pressure is on target to what my fuel pressure is commanding?
Probably a tough question to answer but could a P0087 be an indicator of a total system failure or would there be other codes along with it to lead you in that direction. Anyway, great videos. I am shocked at how there are not more people like you out there to work on these trucks because my fear is going to a shop and someone just telling me my fuel system is toast just because they cannot properly diagnose the issue. Thanks again for the in depth vids!
Gotta go thru the proper pin point test
Thank you for replying. Truck has been sitting for about a month because I canât bring myself to take it to anyone. Iâve gotten recommendations for a couple of good shops but they are over an hour away. Iâve thought about taking to dealership but I think that would equate to paying double than a private shop. Iâm in central New Jersey and for as many Fords as I see on the road you would think there would be a good reputable shop in every town but there isnât.
Yea sry pal, over here in Deetwahh
Hey man I work at a fleet with a lot of these 6.7 running around and Iâve learned a lot from watching your videos, just did a 2020 fuel system replacement from DEF and you got me curious with that rail and I did find the orifice and it is on the other side of the rail after the line that feeds the passenger side rail and makes sense to me itâs there cuz Iâve always wondered how the passenger side doesnât get starved with fuel

How often should I replace both fuel filters? I only do highway driving no towing. I'm at 8k miles right now
Every 15k!đ€š
Glad I found you! This video is exactly what I'm dealing with. I just bought a used good condition 2019 6.7L F250. The truck ran great until I put the S&S CP4 disaster prevention kit on. After putting the kit on, the truck ran for 30 seconds, then burped and chugged and died and hasn't started since. It's throwing the P2291 code. I've double and triple checked the S&S install and plumbing and everything is as it should be. I'm getting fuel through the entire low pressure system and even cracked a supply nut on the driver side fuel rail with the key on and got good flow out of the fuel rail. There was no metal glitter paint found during the install. What are the chances one of these other high pressure fuel components went out at the same time? Help!
Brother, I've done multiple kits & have not 1 issue. I dunno whatcha did....
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod Got it. Bummer. I'll circle back to the install. Thanks.

Time for a rail pal!
Planning on replacing my 97 7.3 F350. This fuel pump/common rail catastrophic failure issue makes me rethink replacing the 7.3. My 7.3 has additional fuel filter, water separator and coolant filter. This has worked and the Racor marine water separator has worked many times. What options are there for the 6.7?
Not too sure bud sry
Bought a 16. F350 was previously deleted. 2nd time having p228f fuel pressure regulator 1. Exceeded learning limits. Too high came on after pulling camper trailer both times. Seems to run fine but not sure how it was tuned. Going to change the fuel filter. Any additive that yall suggest? I been using diesel efficient at Exxon. New to diesel and want to hear any feedback. Where to start? Should I run pressure test? Great video. So many questions regarding the tune with delete if it has anything to do with this code. Guess I'll check FPR for rust and debris
Get you some Hotshot Secrets, use our code PTT & DS-TRUCKS together & get you a driver side fuel rail.
Have you seen any pump failures that didnât result in metal shavings? Iâm trying to diagnose a truck right now, fuel pressure regulator is good and holding, VCV made a rattle noise when you shake it so I replaced that (new one doesnât rattle) Iâm getting zero pressure on the rail. Lift pump is giving me 80psi. Checked rail pressure with a gauge and still nothing. Lower filter had some nasty water in it from a bed fuel tank. Flushed fuel tank with fresh fuel.
Sounds like you need to go thru the M & ME pin point tests....
Could you demonstrate How to look at that sensor when pulling off the intake? My 2013 is giving me code : P228F and Iâm not sure if I have to replace the whole fuel system or just the fuel rail with pressure sensor at the end . Please help thank you
You will ha e 2 mail us to bookcsome diag time
hi, my truck its show me a oil light, and the code p2291 i change my oil and filter, and still not start, its possible if i have low pressure oil the truck will not start???? thanks

2012 6.7 f350 king ranch, I noticed glitter in the main filter bowl at 290k miles, had a shop replace the entire system with Fords contamination kit, at 370k miles I got my first issue, low engine power, 0087 code and then engine stalled and would not restart. I traded my truck in for a 17' model, now wondering if I should try to buy it back to fix it and sell for 4-6k more than the trade value at 8500, please advise if you think this is a good idea or not and cut my 10k loss that I spent on the fuel system in November 2020, thanks in advance

I was running super low on fuel yesterday and got 6 gallon of diesel from a country gas station with a above ground fuel tank and now I'm concerned that could end up being a very costly mistake. Please give me any advice you can as to what I should do to prevent damage to my 2012 6.7. I will replace the fuel filter tomorrow but what else should I do?. Thanks in advance
Sry pal
help rod do you ever do you have video on changing the cp4 pump and injectors the kit
Yea
What is the cost on all these parts?I could do that work myself.I imagine except the reprogram the injectors.I can get someone to program the injectors
So changing fuel filters isnât a bad thing. On my 2016 i only use motorcraft filters and change them every 15,000 miles. Which is every other oil change.
Excellent!
My 2012 6.7 has between 4000-4100 psi fuel pressure at idle. Is that normal? You mentioned it needs around 5k at idle. It has 290,000 miles on it. Not sure if that is early signs of wear. No codes or performances issues.
Those were around there. These news 1s are a lil higher
Question have a 2017 #7 line has a slow drip ordered it was going to change it myself but really is looking complicated
Ok
Man Iâve been messing with mine now for a minute P0088, P0087 I checked the fuel filter also pulled the regulator (no metal in or on either) I replaced the regulator and the P0088 code went away but I still have P0087 so I back tracked to the fuel pump and found a leak replaced that fuel pump (it was shot) and still have the P0087đ the only loss I get is just at start up
HP pump & driver side rail...
Were you getting any codes? What were your codes if so?
I just installed an SPE distaster kit on my 6.7 and immediately got a no start, primed the system per instructions, still no start. Towed to the dealer and got the classic "Bad Fuel," told that I need an entire new fuel system and of coarse Ford will not cover it, 67k miles, out of warranty. I then took off the SPE kit, put everything back like it was, still no start. Screwed in a State that I do not live
SPE is garbage
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod what really? I just watched one of you previous videos complementing them on their external ccv catch can and ccv reroute kit. đ€·ââïžđ€·ââïžđ€·ââïž
Yea!!! And since then, it got thrown out. Their service & company, well buddy im not hear to slander. I thought it was good......key word thought. I wouldn't want you all to go thru the debacle of dealing with SPE...regardless of their interdepartmental problems that are going on right now...covid, their personal issues, blah blah blah. I AM UNDERSTANDING but when you do not reciprocate back & on top of everything else i hear from other people who have used them....brother I do not have time for that.....enough is enough. I'll sell my truck be4 I put their products on my truck
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod
Well, their customer service does seem to be lacking. Only recently delt with them on a ccv reroute. I honestly feel they make a good product from what I've seen, other then that, I have read more bad then good. Some people and companies don't truly understand the importance of customer care and service along with a quality product.
@Volastod I just had the exact same thing happen , did you get anything figured out? Iâm still looking for an answer for mine. Thanks.
