This whole album is so influential and iconic
Every song is a genre I swear
This is the ultimate spliff-smoking joint, am I right? Ozzy era Black Sabbath rarely gets that mellow but there are some progressive tracks that have mellow sections. Seriously, Black Sabbath is a whole rabbit hole.
FACTS. A couple years ago I actually smoked the first joint I rolled to this song in the Adirondacks of Upstate New York where there’s literally no light pollution. I lit up and was surprised by a meteor shower, so I immediately put this song on. Good times.
im smoking one right now
Solitude is also a mellow one
@@Dmena373 melodicaly its like its sister.
One of the best examples of a band where the expectations basses on media etc are a long way off. Black Sabbath don't get enough credit for being incredible musicians.
Man, you guys have SOOO much to explore with Sabbath and I am jealous you get to experience it for the first time. Enjoy chaps.
One of my favorite Black Sabbath songs along with “Hand of Doom” and “Symptom of the Universe”
my personal favorites are this, lord of this world, into the void, and snowblind. they have too many to pick from
Yes , yes, yes!!!!!!! These guys need to check out hand if doom. Planet caravan is a great song but an unusual song for them. The guy that’s a drummer needs to check out Bill Wards skills
Mine are Megalomania, Killing Yourself to Live and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
It wasn’t a 🛠T⚙️⚙️L🛠 reaction but I watched, much respect to admitting not a Big fan of Black Sabbath🙏 honesty is everything my friends, looking forward to seeing you react to RIGHT IN TWO
Yeah, right in two also has a Congo / tabla experience too.
@@jokergreeting the 🐙 is the 🐐!
Thank you for being honest and respectful!
Being able to remove your preconceived idea of Black Sabbath was great. This song is a classic and very well written. You can sense it was a nice jam session when they wrote it.
Surprised you did this one but such an awesome laid back song!!
No joke, y'all are my favorite reaction channel. Reactions are totally genuine. Ran off to become a patreon. Keep it up, my guys.
Really appreciate that Boone bruce 🖖🏾🖖🏾🔥🔥
First time I heard this song was a cover by Pantera, and I was in the right place bit high bit drunk but yea it's a tease.
Do Archspire you need to check these drums haha!
Quite a different vibe for your first intro to Black Sabbath. Much respect. Dig your reactions. 🤘🏼
Without Sabbath there would be no metal.
Some songs are written for an arena, and some songs are written for headphones
This song was the seed that planted “stoner rock”
Check out “Cloak of Feathers” by The Sword for a great example of stoner rock
Total shock. Never heard anything like this from BS. Like it. Trance like, psychedelic like….stoner music. Very California late sixties vibe. Had no idea BS had this side. Did not know they were that versatile. They are certainly not known for that, the way Zep is. Pleasant surprise.
Not quite as trance-like, but they have another very mellow song called Solitude. You should check it out.
Then you obviously have not listened to enough Sabbath.. they have a mellow song or an instrumental on every album.. They are incredibly versatile.. and the different genres of music you hear in almost each and every one,, from metal yes, to blues to jazzy to funk in some a touch of punk and occasionally you can hear a splash of disco if you listen closely their range and talent is far wan wide..
The "woman in 1000 robes" analogy was hilarious.
👏👏👏🤘🤘
Good job Kane, that was an excellent pick.
This track is a little sneak peek into the Django influence that makes up so much of Iommi's style.
Glad you guys liked that. It was fun to watch you react to.
Rich the Ancient Metal Beast
opening each other’s minds and ears is what it’s all about.
Just found your channel and I love your honesty. If you dig somethin then I believe you and if you're not feeling something then I get why. Dont change! :)
My guys are back with a historical tune. One of my fav songs. Love the tribal beats and chorusy vocals
Really dig the reactions you guys do. I always appreciate a musician’s perspective as I am one myself. I have a few recommendations based on this rock/metal exploration you have started.
Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick Live (very early prog rock)
Punch Brothers - Familiarity Live (It’s more so bluegrass in roots but it’s very progressive and the musicianship is insane)
Opeth - Harlequin Forest (Swedish metal but they are the pinnacle of their metal style, a must hear)
Good morning gentleman. First video I'm watching with a cup of coffee this morning as I know this tune is proppa chilled. Might I recommend hand of doom by black sabbath. About the perils of drug taking and the Vietnam war. Superb tune
☕️
Love the honesty
Props to the guy letting us know he wasn't a fan of them, going in.
It *does* feel like a tease and I love that there are talented people out there who were inspired by this track and extended it and mixed it into their stuff and so on.
Thanks for the reaction.
Hand of Doom. A must listen👍
Love the reaction. It was a very jazzy vibe.
So there is the Ozzy era Sabbath, and the Dio era Sabbath. The band spans many many years, and has many different sounds to explore. I've been guilty of putting bands on the shelf without fully exploring what they have offer. Good on you for giving it another go.
Keep up the vids you guys are good
Black Sabbath- Hand of doom. For some sick rim shots ;)
Keep in mind... The Beatles were recording Get Back (that tv series) releasing the album Let it Be at the same time Black Sabbath put this out. Paranoid. Kinda crazy that those two things were happening at the same time in the same place.
Black Sabbath - "Snowblind" is Crazy Good Bro.
Ozzy's voice is being recorded through a 'Leslie Speaker', an interesting 'tech' of the time which outputs sound through a speaker that is then projected through a spinning 'baffle'.
That Leslie rotating speaker for this song was a genius move proper trippy vibes
I was as surprised as you were as I've never been a Black Sabbath fan.
Great reaction guys! Black Sabbath has so much excellent music. You should really check out more of their stuff. "The Wizard" is another bluesy song but heavier. Highly recommend. 🤘Rock On!🤘
You should be the first channel to react to entire albums.
One hell of a disclaimer! props! I'm still here! promise!
“Fairies wear boots” my favorite track on that album
Such a great space rock classic that you can actually ride the spaceship to the destination of complete greatness.
just joined on patreon!!!! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!
WOOW thanks for joining us Scott Mccumber 🖖🏾🖖🏾🔥
I feel that you guy's would really like a song from the 80s by Thomas Dolby called "I Scare Myself". This is a little off the beaten path but I think it would push a lot of buttons with you guys. Keep up the good work.
Sabbath is a trip , take the ride !
I would love to see your reaction to a newer version of this from their album 13 "Zeitgeist"
that's one awesome reaction via disrobing robes
Black Sabbath. The band with the hardest name that has songs mostly about love and longing. War Pigs next please.
If memory serves, this was a sort of mid album pallet cleanser track. That might be why you say it sounds like a tease.
Hi! Hello! I'm on my first day of pilgrimage to this channel until the next TOOL reaction! In the mean while, have you fellas heard of the great reverend Maynard and his three disciples? Brother Adam, Brother Danny and Justin the bassist? Do carry on!
I love Sabbath and this song but wouldn’t have picked it for a first listen. Symptom of the Universe, War Pigs, Snowblind many many more great songs to explore 😁
1970 people!!!! 1970!!!!! From the pioneers of metal comes this blues masterpiece! Top 3 song of all time for me. Just a cool ass song.
ok. Mars Volta. you have to do “Aberinkula “ off “ Bedlam in Goliath “. First ever song with Thomas Pridgen on drums. This is phsycadellic meets gospel drumming. you got to check it out.
Your won't have long to wait on Mars Volta, 👍🏾
@@marylandstationmusic9422 yes! I've been requesting contortionist over and over again for consistency's sake, but I've been wanting to say something from Mars Volta (although, maybe cliche, but I have to admit I like the first two albums the best)
Gotta do - War Pigs next !!
black sabbath drummer bill ward is just amazing, if your a true drum fan then you must go down the black sabbath rabbit hole....the songs i suggest are Hand of Doom, Warpigs,Lord of this World, Into the Void, A National Acrobat and Snowblind....loving your reactions bruvs. im a kiwi who lived 2 years in streatham common london 53 greyhound lane massive!!
I think next one should be Charles Bradley's cover of Black sabbath's 'Changes'.
"I don't like Black Sabbath"
Listens to Black Sabbath
"I do like Black Sabbath"
lmfao
Damn, i never knew this was a Black Sabbath song, only heard the Pantera version. You live you learn.
Sounds like the intro on Outkast's ATLIENS album. Same vibe
It leads into another sond on the album.
You guys have to hear fairies wear boots, please
Interesting name, they new or quite old band?
this song is one giant chill pill .
~bwaragh lol
Pantera does an amazing cover of this!
A suggestion:
Sign Of The Southern Cross, also by Black Sabbath.
So heavy. So undeniable. So good.
You NEED to listen to The Mars Volta. Start with Roulette Dares (The Haunt Of).
Less is more! Always loved this song.
This album is 👌🏽 I recommend listening to Rat Salad. Bill Ward is a beast 🤘🏽
Master of reality album by Sabbath is arguably their greatest stuff anything off that album would be great
wait till you hear the headless cross album it’s so underrated and it’s my fave album
No more playing around. You guys gotta check out YYZ by Rush. In any format, live, studio, whatever. I promise it's a game changer.
Also recommend Hand of Doom
As much as I love this song, the Pantera cover is my favorite version. Dimebag's guitar solo is godly in that cover version. Also check out Solitude by Black Sabbath and the Ulver cover of that song.
Lorna Shore To the Hellfire would be so sick for you guys to react
Serious question Who is the goat of Black Sabbath?
-Tony Iommi on guitar?🎸
Or
Bill Ward- Drums? 🪘
Ay guys. I’ve a suggestion. I want you guys to dive into Classic British prog! Check out Heart of the Sunrise or Siberian Khatru by Yes. You fans will love it I promise 🙏
Black Sabbath and Ozzy are so misunderstood. They have their dark material but never for the purpose of just being dark; they are making a statement about a dark subject or emotional state. After Forever is another great song that turns people's preconceived notions of Sabbath and Ozzy on their heads.
You wanna be surprized by Black Sabbath : "Air dance"
Hand of Doom should be your next song.
This song has SO much weight in the context of the album.
You guys would probably dig The Mars Volta.
My suggestion: Deep Purple - Child In Time, album version. As we are exploring early 70's super influencers.
This is a nice little mellow jam. It's not very sabbath-like though. Some War Pigs, Faeries wear boots, The wizard maybe... I know you're gonna feel the drums.
try Pantera's version
Black Sabbath - Supernaut should be your next reaction....drums for days. Also War Pigs (Live in Paris 1970)
HEY YOU DRUMMER GUY, check out Sabbath “ Hand Of Doom” Bill Ward is a monster on the drums!!!!!!!!!
hand of doom
If your boy liked that. Then it has to be Solitude by Black Sabbath next
Just started the video and he said he doesn’t like sabbath???????????????? Wow do I even watch the rest of the video? 😅
Most people like black Sabbath when they listen to a track properly.
Fairies wear boots. Listen. You want be disappointed. But sabbath never disappoints.
Please listen to the Pantera cover, it's a different take from an amazing band.
you have to listen to Black sabbath by black sabbath, this song birthed metal and grunge
Hand of Doom or War Pigs originals.
ManOwaR - Spirit Horse Of The Cherokee
My Favorite Band!
Iommi is Lord
System of the universe black Sabbath.
Metallica - Damage inc.
please do a reaction to Metallica "...And Justice For All" & Tool "Aenima"
Doesn’t like Black Sabbath, likes Jazz…..then realizes that Black Sabbath is jazz influenced heavy metal.
No, it doesn't drop. It fades out, then IRON Man starts
Definitely give another sabbath song a go. Doesn’t even sound like Sabbath with the effects.
Am I a bad human if I say I like the Pantera cover better?
real thing by alice in chains!
How many Black Sabbath songs have you heard to say you don't like them? lol Paranoid and Iron Man?
Definitely heard Iron man enough, paranoid, yep they're just those popular tracks that you always kinda end up hearing on tv , social media, or when music stores was a thing, wherever, but will say ( a crime you won't like I'm sure), 1st time hearing Iron man start to end was on the end Credits to the film Iron man, and did enjoy it fed to me that way but in general, just aint my thing, got friends that will mess with Black Sabbath but ain't for me, doesn't mean I ain't willing to give them a listen tho
@@marylandstationmusic9422 Like someone else suggested I would try hand of doom, rat salad, supernaut, and spiral architect. I like most sabbath so I could go in but that's a few you might like.
👍🏾, I'll see if we can put some on the list
I find it hard to believe you understood the song. You seem so focused on the music.
