You can really tell they respected Black Sabbath. You can even hear the influence in their original music. Idk if youve heard it but Pantera also did a cover of Black Sabbaths Electric Funeral. They cover Sabbaths songs perfectly to the point that they're almost better than the original. I wish they would've covered more Sabbath.

I will always prefer the original Black Sabbath version, it's one of my favorite songs of theirs. But the Pantera cover is still special to me because the Far Beyond Driven tour was my first major concert (they toured with White Zombie, a killer lineup). When Planet Caravan came on they turned down all the stage lights except one giant green pot leaf spotlight. It was epic.

Kel closed her eyes and drifted away with the song. 🥰 Rich's face was winched in pain as his perception of what he thought Black Sabbath was all about was completely blown. 🤣 He obviously wasn't paying attention to the dynamic change ups in many of their songs that burst with soothing rhythms, in songs like Supernaut and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Laguna Sunrise and Solitude are 2 more of their famed masterpieces with a different pace.

I had a trippy experience to this song...when I was 16 y/o (mid-80s) I was in the hospital to have my appendix removed and the day after the surgery my friends came up to see me...one of my friends made a mix tape for me and later that night, the nurse came in, gave me a shot of demerol, I put the mix tape in, put on my Walkman (remember those?) and the first song was Us and Them by Pink Floyd...then Planet Caravan and I was peaking from the demerol when the song started, it was hitting me hard and this caused me to go into a trippy state of being and I imaged that I was traveling the astral planes, passing by planets and soaring along the milky way...it was just incredible, something I always remember when I hear this song.

Black Sabbath was the first and most Heavy Metal band of all time!Tony Iommi lost two fingertips on his job before they came out with their first album and his boss told him not to give up on playing guitar! #BlackSabbath - Solitude (Kitchener, Ontario, Canada) - I will keep requesting this song until you do it! If you liked the vibe of Planet Caravan, they you'll likely LOVE the groove (and lyrics) of Solitude! It's not quite as space-trippy, but just a beautiful composition!
For me, the B.S. version of Caravan will always be tops - they just nailed the spacey, mystical, trippy vibe to a 'T'. Don't get me wrong, Pantera version was excellent, but there was a level of emotion missing - tough to replicate or capture from the original. This piece was one of the first that I heard that revolutionized my opinion of Sabbath. I loved them before as Metal gods, but this showcased their diversity. Same album as Paranoid, War Pigs & Iron Man, some raucous metal, then something soft, sensual & 'baked' (cause you know they were when they wrote/recorded this!) Great video, as always! And to the reaction from a subscriber, I love your dynamic. Your love of music and love for each other shines, and indeed is a welcome balm to a sometimes harsh, brutal world - you bring us back to the beautiful things - great songs, and two lovely (& loving) people!! Cheers!

Church Of The Cosmic Skull, Evil In Your Eyes. Watch the official video. It was a vibe similar to this. They are a new band from the UK . Cross between Fleetwood Mac, Black Sabbath and the Manson family! You guys will dig em fo sho!

I prefer Pantera's version but I heard that one first and heard it more times. Use OBS Rich, it's free and it cuts out any downloading and editing, it will save you a lot of time and you can livestream if you want to

If you think Dreamer/Deceiver is different for Judas Priest. Listen to the last two songs on Sad Wings of Destiny. “Epitaph” and “Isla d of Domination” talk about contrasting songs. The latter being one of my favorites.
