For my Final in my “60’s in America” class I took for an elective, I compared Simon and Garfunkel with Black Sabbath. I cited several lyrics by S&G that, though melodically and beautifully delivered, were actually sad and borderline sociopathic; playing “I Am A Rock” as an example. Then, several lyrics by the much maligned Black Sabbath, that were actually totally about peace and love, but delivered in an aggressive and boisterous manner; playing “Children of the Grave” as an example. Got an A+.

That's great insight into what was behind the song when they recorded it, that has always been my favorite Sabbath song when Volume 4 came out in 1972, just for the jazzy guitar and drifting spacey melody. And then they mention Django and Joe Pass, two of my favorite Jazz guitarists and I didn't know all these years that Tony was influenced by both guitarists, makes sense.
