I'm a die-hard Black Sabbath fan and I'm an ok listener of Judas Priest song. But I totally dig Rob's singing in this Sabbath show, he's a humble guy and a hell of a frontman. It's not easy for a human being to do a complete show with the band of Sir Anthony Frank Iommi, especially with Geezer and Bill.
Children of the Grave was on the very first album "Master of Reality" that my sister bought for me as a birthday present. Still listen to both 40 years later.

Rob was merely filling coz Ozzy was down. Ofcourse it will not be stellar, but this is how the pros do it. Keep charging. The show must go on. Big props to the Metal God for having the balls to jump up on stage and sing songs he barely knows to help out the greatest metal band in history - next to Priest of course....
TheDonzo69 no, it was because Dio couldn’t put his differences aside and backed out of Ozzfest. Dio was a great guy when it came to people. But he was a complete ass when it came to business
@@zachbartlett2829 You can't call a complete ass to someone who never failed to appear on a scheduled show. Dio refused from day 1 to participate on ozzfest but Sabbath still insisted on doing the show. It's not like Dio's just pulled off at last minute or something. He never liked Ozzy for how he treated his staff and other artists on his Shows so he always refused to work with him. But Sabbath just said yes in order to pull some sweet nostalgia money. To all you arm-chair performers out their. I have been singing since I was 16 yrs. old, I am now 50. I have sang around 20 Ozzy/Sabbath songs with Ozzy and Dio as the vocalists. I have sang around 60 Priest songs over the years, from "Out in the Cold" to classics like "Victim Of Changes" and " Electric Eye", "Tyrant", "The Ripper, " Desert Plains, etc. If you think that playing a show with Priest, and then doing another show with Sabbath is easy....YOU ARE FUCKING SADLY MISTAKEN!! For Rob who probably had a short time to brush up on this material, and at his age at the time...This is a really good performance. Two totally different voices...PERIOD. It's like being in the cover bands I was in for years, Rob has never been in a cover band, compared to singing your own material, it's a totally different animal!! It's not easy, for years I sang everything from Priest, Maiden, Dio, Whitesnake, Ozzy, Sabbath, Zepplin, Queensryche, Evergrey, Fates, Dream Theatre. It took me years to get to a place where I could go from band to band, singers with totally different styles. Then when we decided to do original material, it was very difficult to put my own style into those songs. So give him a break, he's doing quite well thank you. If you listen to the new cd, he sounds better than he has in years.

Yes, from what i remember Dio´s contract had ended anyway, so even though im sure he didnt want it to end this way he didnt break any contract by leaving. Black Sabbath screwed DIO by signing to open for OZZY. DIO took offense and quit BLACK SABBATH. ROB HALFORD stood in for DIO as a favor for SABBATH last minute. He was obviously nervous and unprepared. But he had the balls and pulled it off. Lest we forget.
