Story 2: Dabney, no. You're starting to play white knight again. OP is just being a decent human being who doesn't condone cheating and is just listing out Ana's positive qualities like any good friend would. That doesn't mean he's cheating on his wife. He's being supportive. His wife condoning the cheating and turning her back on Ana makes HER the bad person, it's not OP's fault.
I really like Dabney and his content, but he seems to have a blind spot when it comes to wife's. Maybe because he thinks so highly of his own.
Life can change perspectives and opinions, we don't know why or where this white knighting behaviour actually comes from @Rslash I really hope you aren't in abusive marriage and that's what's causing this behavior. I hope it's more you have some other things going on. I know it's not a static bias towards women as you have called out women of a wide range of ages but I think they way you are acting shows signs that either you are in an open relationship which honestly you do you, or you or your wife is cheating, there is a possibility I could be extremely incorrect. I think addressing these claims may be a good idea.

Final story had an update awhile ago, I believe, first of all during a family dinner with Chris OP absolutely destroyed him, she pointed out how he was a manipulative sleaze who never had a real chance with her and that he was a petty, little man making that speech, and all Chris could do was hold his head in shame as he got reamed out in front of his family. OP then told off her husband for not defending her or their love and instead playing the 'woe is me' card when they're supposed to love each other, and husband admitted he's always felt like second best to Chris. OP and husband are good now and Chris was told to STFU in the future.

Glad someone commented this! OP absolutely wrecked Chris and from what I remember, FIL was absolutely onboard and prevented Chris from bailing before OP could have her say. I can't remember exactly but she said something to the effect of "If I had gotten to know you, I would have seen you for the terrible, pathetic person you are."

Good, because I was over here wondering what was wrong with me that I didn't think OP did anything wrong. She had a crush on a guy, realized what a d*ck he was, met an actually decent guy and fell for him, and the first guy was a thing of the past.
Both OP and especially her husband need therapy. I didn’t understand the logic here AT ALL. Like it made absolutely no sense. Why was OP’s wife so insistent on staying friends with them? Why support this horrid behavior? Story 2: She is not being accepting, she's being a doormat. Allowing and supporting someone who participated in destroying a home does not mean you love them. If you love someone you need to put your foot down and not support their bs. I'd take your wife's actions as a red flag, she's supported a cheater and when one of the participants is going to get punished she attempts to defend them. Hopefully there will be an update.

4th story: I remember showing this to a friend when I was going through the subreddit, and she went on a whole ass rant saying it was fine and men don't get groomed/rape, my jaw drop, I ask if it was a 14 year old girl and a 20 year old man she said: "yes, because it's so hard to be a woman with men trying to steal *OUR* trauma and *OUR* struggles, plus he probably liked it anyways men always wanted to be SA by older women." That wife’s BFF story is eerily similar to one RSlash read a while ago. The husband was having trouble with his wife’s best friend, who kept poisoning her mind and turning her on the husband, even convincing her that he was cheating. It got worse when she had a baby and the friend doubled down. If I remember correctly, the wife ended up slapping him and breaking his nose. They separated and she showed up one day demanding the kid. Then, she crashed her car and died.
That is NOT a good friend. Or a good person. That guy needs to either sit down and show her that other story, get her to get rid of the friend, or run for the hills to avoid tragedy.

I heard the 4th story some time ago and people in the comments under that video were arguing about how it wasn't grooming or predatory because "they were in love". Completely forgetting that predators groom their victims into thinking their relationship is ok and that It's "love". Again completely forgetting that parents will allow their kid's to be sexually assaulted within cults or by family members and much worse just because. The situation was wrong and will forever be wrong. It's grooming. It's predatory.
Also people really need to can the "but boys are different! They like being sexually assaulted and preyed on by adults!" Mentality. Almost every single boy who's been taken advantage of ends up struggling with depression, ptsd of some type, and suicidal ideation due to their trauma. It isn't a fucking joke. Story 3 reminds me a lot of the "Jesse" story. The one where Jesse convinced OP's wife that he was cheating on her, causing her to make herself not live anymore; and I got a sinking feeling that if that child had been born, we would've seen an almost exact repeat of the "Jesse" story.

Second story had me wanting OP divorce his wife because her logic was MAJORLY flawed. You're telling me that Ana should get shafted because Jack was a long time friend and Max taking Jack from Ana is seen as a flex, which it's not. Also, Max had a tough upbringing, therefore, Max and Jack doing Ana dirty is somehow justified. There is nothing wrong with complimenting your friends especially highlighting how Ana is this amazing person that Jack screwed over for some booty.
Furthermore, I don't know why Rslash read that much into OP's description of Ana because if OP's wife had some sort of negative feelings about Ana, I'd say it's time she let OP know because at the rate she's going, she's ruining her marriage quicker than Jack did his.
Also, when OP said that his wife was the forgiving and considerate type, I knew she was going to take the long time friend side. Like I always tell my friends, friends don't let friends do stupid things. If they do and continuously, you'll see the back of my head and the dust from my feet.
Do NOT follow rslash's advice at the very end. That could give off the idea of love bombing and make her husband only more suspicious about her now that she in his mind got caught. The best thing she can do is tell him her truth like she wrote on reddit and then leave him to his thoughts until he reaches out to her. That would show sincerity in her words. She'll likely have to wait for him to reach out to her again and if she can't stand the wait, she could try to speak to him once every week until he's ready. That's the best chance she has to have him believe and more importantly trust her again and that chance is still a 50/50... well unless she's lying on reddit too.
I had to actually go back and listen to dabney's advice and yeah, 100% agree. The husband needs space to process and come the wife needs to respect that. Trying to push or convince him of her love for him is likely to backfire and nothing else.
I'd say the best advice would be to get marriage counseling, despite how early it is in the marriage.

The guy doesn't need to hear how he needs to do better while he did nothing wrong. That's going to destroy the marriage at 10x the speed of light... they can have their therapies if they need it, but they would need to be individual and confidential.

This reminded me of one of my classmates from primary school. She "dated" an 18-year-old guy when she was 12. She'd drink lots of alcohol and skip school because of him. I heard the guy ended up in prison and he wasn't allowed to be in contact with that girl, but they kept meeting up anyway. Back then, I wasn't aware of just how fucked up it was. I just thought it was weird, because I was also a stupid kid. I wonder if that girl is okay and what she's doing now.

It's not rarer, they're just more skittish and careful and many don't end up as a statistic. Umm rslash wtf was that bad take. The affair story OP likes one of his friends and praises her which isn't necessarily a red flag. Yeah, exactly. Forgiveness should be given in case of a little thing called repentance. In other words, the person being forgiven needs to feel sorry for what they did, turn away from their wrong actions, and make as many amends as possible. Jack and Max have done none of those things.

Second story: Max does not deserve any sympathy, because, from her perspective, she took another women's man along with her stable living conditions to satisfy hers.
That last story makes me so sad. She had a crush on a dude, he played "will they won't they" with her and lost to his own brother. I can't help but feel OP should have seen this coming at least a little, considering how little respect the dude had for OP. She said he got cold after she started dating his brother, so it should have been fairly obvious that he was hurt that OP moved on. At that point she should have told the brother what had gone on in the past between them, because that disclosure shows you care not only about that person's feelings, but also the relationships that you share. Communication will never stop being important, and lack of it breaks up more relationships than people realize.

Story 4: I wish I could say this was uncommon. You'd be shocked how many female predators of young boys exist. There is a big reason why shotacon and cougar culture exist. My old friend's kid brother was 13 years old when he was taken advantage of by a 29 year old woman and the woman got pregnant with his child. To say that his mother went ballistic about her was an understatement. And that was in the early 2000s.

@@sawyerjoyce8326 she did get arrested and had the baby. The 13 year old still has issues after years of therapy and has had very little contact with the child. What's mind-blowing is the fact said child is an adult now. Don't know what that child is up to.
The friend in the 3rd story reminds me of that one story from a while back where the op's wife took her life because her best friend was manipulating her and making her think her husband was cheating so op should definitely get out while he can.

Story 2: Orrrr maybe since Ana was the wife of his best friend from kindergarten whom he sees like a brother, he came to also see Ana like family, and so is having trouble accepting her replacement, especially since infidelity was involved. The only one being weird here is the wife. OP was acting totally normal considering the circumstances and there's nowhere near enough evidence to suspect otherwise.
