- The movie doesn't get much love, but this moment IN the movie should. It's always been one of my favorite scary moments from a horror film.
Children of the Corn (1984)

Not only did Children of the Corn have one of the greatest jump scares, it also had one of the greatest lines in horror. OUTLANDER! WE HAVE YOUR WOMAN!!!!
Exorcist III. The hospital hallway scene....such an underrated movie.
The Guy rolling down the street on Fire in RED DRAGON (2002) 😭😭
Your reaction is priceless! Two come to mind from my youth: Norman Bates cracking his mother over the head with a shovel at the end of Psycho 2, and the old man corpse twisting his daughter’s head backwards in Creepshow 😆👍.
I'm actually one of the few who enjoy the original Children of the Corn, and I highly appreciate you spotlighting this often forgotten about scene! I also loved the shock that followed in the road. It was really a tremendous one-two punch!
Exorcist 3 when the nurse is locking all the doors that part scared me every time
Two moments actually from Halloween 5
When Loomis yells "Michael go home, go home!" into the dark woods with the crickets chirping and his voice echoing was always cool and creepy to me!
The ending of Halloween 5: Something about the way its completely empty in the police station, Jamie crying and slowly walking through, the way she softly says "no" and her voice echoes as we see the destroyer jail cell door
Both of those moments (and many more) are part of the reason why I'll always defend Halloween 5
The moment in The Ring when the girl comes through the tv and opens her eyes always stuck with me
Wow, would NOT have guessed we’d get a “Children Of The Corn” video! Absolutely delighted since it’s well outside the norm!
It's so perfectly sudden and creepy. A top tier jump scare for sure
How about the "I am your daughter" scene from the others? That moment always gives me the chills.
Definitely agree!!!
As a kid, Isaac being possessed at the end scared the absolute shit out of me, literally thinking I was gonna have nightmares about it. Love Children of the Corn
One that scared the crap out of me was from the opening of 1983’s Twilight Zone The Movie …. Dan Aykroyd is driving with his buddy …. “You wanna see something REALLY SCARY?????” Saw it opening weekend in the theater on a BIG screen!
"A cousin of the jump scare family" 🤣🤣🤣 I Love it Dave i Love it!
Hey, Dave, I've got three truly underrated scares for you. The first one is from John Carpenter's The Thing. When the guys are in the room and they're all screaming at each other about who the Thing is and they shoot that stocky guy, Charles Hallahan, and then his head starts melting and changing into that spider creature. That whole scene every time I see it just makes me go "Whoa"!
Or how about when this guy gave a cat electro-shock therapy in Cat's Eye in the story "Quitter's Inc". James Woods is trying to quit smoking but these people that run this program "Quitter's Inc" are like the Mafia. So James Woods tells this guy, the head of the program, that he really wants to quit so he'll stick out the program and the guy who runs the program tells him good but here's what will happen to your family if you don't stick out the program. He puts the cat in this room where the floor is electrified and the cat starts jumping around because the voltage is low.
Then it gets higher and higher and James Woods is bugging out begging the guy to please let the cat out and then the director of the program cranks the voltage remote up all the way and the cat blows up and that gets me every time! I'm like "What the f'"! And the last underrated scare I'll mention is from Misery when Annie Wilkes whacks James Cann's ankles with that sledgehammer 😮! Need I say more!
Cheers, Dave 🎃🍻
Darkness Falls
They have a video on you tube called the bedroom scene about 5 minutes long. The movie itself wasn't really too scary but the opening movie when the boy is sitting in the bathtub and the door flies open and you hear that creepy woman screeching then the camera slowly moves out the bathroom door showing the creepy woman over top the bathroom door on the side of the wall. Sends chills up your spine. Yeah that scene in children of the corn is definitely a great one. Thanks for pointing that one out.
one of my favorite jump scares, was from the movie Hell Night with Linda Blair. I don't remember 100 percent, but it involved a sort of wide shot of someone standing around some columns I think? and then the creature jumps out of the darkness to grab this person. It's been over a decade since I saw it so if anyone knows what I'm talking about let me know.
That's a good jump scare scene. I used to watch this on VHS in the 80s. The diner scene really freaked me out lol.
I love children of the corn 1984 and the scare too it scare me when I saw it on AMC fearfest years ago
Insidious when they walk into the son's room after a noise and someone standing in the window really got me first in years I actually yelled out loud. Side not love the new outro music on the channel sounds John Carpenter inspired.
Best jump scare, for me, actually comes from a David Lynch film… Mulholland Drive. Featuring a
special actress now famously known as The Nun/Valak
The trailer scared me as a child.
I like Children of the Corn. It's not The Exorcist or Halloween, but it's a solid movie. Isaac is a really creepy character.
Not sure if this is considered underrated but the image of Damian’s mother sitting in regans bed in the Exorcist really gets under my skin considering the situation
That’s the creepiest scene in the movie. The first time I saw it I didn’t piece together that it was his mother. I just saw an old lady on a bed and it got me
My wife is a die hard COTC FAN
That image is so quick and yet so disturbing. Makes me wanna revisit this movie!
Nah, i actually love this movie and franchise 😎🔥 i hate creepy kids in horror movies so this franchise has top tier weirdness and creepiness 😅😅😅👌
A fave moment in Blair Witch Project (1999) is when the group start panicking and screaming because they're lost in the woods 😅 i kinda have no sense of direction and when I'm panicking i forget how to read directions/maps, so the movie just heightens all my fears 🤣🤣
Dave, I think nostalgia got the best of you on this one. Not that scary. This shot happens 100 times in every action movie. But I understand how it could imprint a young impressionable kid that saw it for the first time. Keep up the channel you’re doing a good job.
Absolute Classic 🙌
What’s the name of the movie with the Mrs. Allidice jump scare at the end? It scared me sh*tless as a kid
Love this movie. A lot of good parts. I own it and quote it with my brothers 😆.
The woman vomiting up her guts in City of the Living Dead.
